Everyone always strives for perfectionism but the truth is that it's the imperfections that make things interesting. If a piece of art was perfect, I don't know if it'd be enjoyable because no one would have anything to say about it other than 'it's perfect.' Your orc was super cool, I love it!
Nice late night video! Hey Laurence! ✌️ I really relate to that phrase, "perfectionism erases humanity." I definitely feel like the strive for perfection is more damaging than beneficial. I am guilty of it, it some things I don't even attempt because I don't think I'll be good or perfect at it, yet other things I toss being perfect out the window ans just go with the flow. I think it's a hard topic to nail down, there's no black and white answer I feel. Depends on the situation and other emotional factors. But I absolutely agree that trying to be perfect in something isn't going to gain much momentum to enjoy or actually grow within that thing we try to do. Very strong words man, love that saying. I tend to stick with black and white, and sometimes a pop of red here and there. I tend to use more colour when I Paint, but not so much when I draw. Awe man, I don't read many books either. Tend to prefer graphic novels or art books. I'm a sucker for an art book, I've got a small collection of the years and I treasure them. They inspire me, I look through for references and even motivate me to make my own some day. In my art I always leave mistakes. Some develop into amazing altered visions if you go with some. But mistakes gives the art a soul. More emotion, like using "but" in the beginning of a sentence for emotional effect.
