Remember Kids, Balan Wonderworld marks the 1st time in video game history where the final boss not only tries to kill the in-game player, but also tries to kill the one holding the controller.
Plot Twist: Balan Wonderworld is a prequel to Mario Oddyssey. After his debut game failed Balan killed himself, turned into a Ghost, moved back to his hometown of the Hat Kingdom, and changed his name to Cappy.
One can read the story as being about mental health and the need to accept your problems and move on. Chess guy was hella petty, but that was his arc y'know? A Bulldozer transformer? Might be referring to one of the constructicons also I want to see Chocto read the Balan Book and play Sonic 06 or even Shadow the Hedgehog
The box fox costume works better to crush enemies. It kinda makes a light that works as a signal for when the box transformation occurs. You just need to jump at that moment and crush the enemy. By the way, one of the costumes you didn´t find was the Balan Costume. It´s one of the best costumes in the game.
Balans Hat-off design pisses me of. He was the best part because he looks unique and charming, but then he suddenly goes "I'm Johann van Generico now! Look at my pretty-boy eyes!".
It's unfortunate that I think that twist design could have worked if it was executed better. It's better explained in the book, but only a little. It could have been used much better as a twist if done correctly.
See the sad thing is, this game could have so MUUUCH potential. I mean holy hell the design for these boss battle is so dope looking and in 10:11 honestly the level art style is so bright and beautiful. I just really wished they actually tried to make this game good cause i mean there was time I was like "Woah that's dope looking" only to be disappointed next
I seriously feely like Balan Wonderworld could have been fixed with just 3 core changes. 1.-Being able jump with every costume. 2.- Have only 10 main costumes with different abilities, 1 for every chapter. Have the rest be cosmetic extras you can get to 100% the game and mix and match with the ability costumes. 3.-Being able to change costumes on the fly. It would still not fix the other issues but it would make the game passable.
11:59 It's name is Devastator and it's a Decepticon made out of these: Scavenger (torso) Hightower (left arm) Long Haul (right leg) Mixmaster (head) Skipjack (left leg, or left foot if the yellow dump truck is included) Scrapper (right arm)
The games director said this was their one chance. That doesn't even begin to scratch the amount of controversy the game has kicked up. Balan is toast.
Yknow. I used to find all the characters really funny, but I watched a video that gave a summary of the light novel for Balan Wonderworld and now I simp for Lance and go “Aww!!” when there’s a character I that’s not the main character on screen
Apparently, somewhere in the beginning, there's a secret platform that has the Balan Costume. He basically flies over the fucking levels as if that shit didn't matter at all.
It actually wasn’t. It just produced by Square Enix, so they own and funded it, that’s about it. None of the studios who develop Final Fantasy were involved in this. It was developed by Arzest, a company who previously made 3DS games, and Balan Company, which was basically just Yuji Naka and new hires.
I feel like you could easily cut a huge chunk of the costumes. I also don't see why they have to be a finite resource either, other than to drag out the gameplay time more. In fact, if you feel you must have the others that do the same, I'd say make it unlock-able variants you can wear out of preference. Oh, and, you know, LET PEOPLE HAVE MORE THAN ONE BUTTON TO PRESS IF AT ALL. Yuji Naka really dropped the ball and people blame Square Enix, but he literally over simplified the games controls and almost didn't even let the game have cutscenes that would of explained the story even if vaguely.

I guess the story's moral is never to spread your ideas too thin.
4:37 why is nobody talking about the fact that he looks twice her age
When I saw it I didn’t get it and thought he was her dad
Legit, she looks barely older than Emma and he looked like he belonged on the Jersey Shore.
Better question, why she hasn't aged
@@perrykv7312 book answers it
@@chaosking7727 So, what's the answer?
*"he's just trying to pick up every copy of balan wonderworld"*
There should've been bottom half of costumes, and top halfs.
War the bottom half of a costume and gain it's jump ability, and top half gives the offensive ability, and you can mix and match
That cereal commercial joke absolutely killed my back.
Yuji Naka left SonicTeam to create this masterpiece 🗿
Tbf, he made rodea which was supposedly pretty fun
...of shit

I was thinking "Why didn't they just shorten the name of the costume to Ray-Ape?" And as soon as I said it out loud I knew why
7:25 What I'm hearing? Someone else acknowledging the existence of my favorite pokemon? Awesome dude, you are a man of culture.
Its hilarious that every button is jump and he couldn't even jump. LOL

Fun fact color for color detail for detail the box in the box fox mode is the default unity cube asset.
You'd have more fun with sonic 06 i'd imagine
Sonic 06 isn't nearly as bad as people say it is
I actually really freaking love that game
Badly made but at the very least it's fun, which is the important thing in a video game
@@somebodyyoudontknow3980 They should really remake it, I'm positive if they give it a good tune up, a few rewrites, and some extra bells and whistles it'll get the reputation it was meant to have
@@somebodyyoudontknow3980 The level design is actually pretty good at times.
This is Really a game of the 90s', it's even got all the plot hidden in a manual they never even advertised! (Although they get some EA points from actually charging people to make sense of this thing)
Petition to make Choc do the third act.
I don't think anyone would want to play that though.
"You've unlocked a secret third act!"
Hum i really like to see that third act
PLEASE unlock the Balan costume. It will be worth it.
DON'T unlock the Balan costume. It will NOT be worth it.
You have to 100% the game and go through an incredibly tedious waiting process with Tims just to be able fly around levels you've already completed? Yeah, no thanks-
A Bulldozer transformer? Might be referring to one of the constructicons also I want to see Chocto read the Balan Book and play Sonic 06 or even Shadow the Hedgehog
The box fox costume works better to crush enemies. It kinda makes a light that works as a signal for when the box transformation occurs. You just need to jump at that moment and crush the enemy. By the way, one of the costumes you didn´t find was the Balan Costume. It´s one of the best costumes in the game.
5:30 if teddie and jack frost had a child
hee ho indeed
Balans Hat-off design pisses me of. He was the best part because he looks unique and charming, but then he suddenly goes "I'm Johann van Generico now! Look at my pretty-boy eyes!".
My exact same opinion
It's unfortunate that I think that twist design could have worked if it was executed better. It's better explained in the book, but only a little. It could have been used much better as a twist if done correctly.
YEEEEESSSS!!! Like, the least they could do is let him keep the interesting dread-like hair, but NOPE, give him the generic short anime bob
And the black skin went so much better with his mostly-white suit
See the sad thing is, this game could have so MUUUCH potential. I mean holy hell the design for these boss battle is so dope looking and in 10:11 honestly the level art style is so bright and beautiful. I just really wished they actually tried to make this game good cause i mean there was time I was like "Woah that's dope looking" only to be disappointed next
"Can they explain the ending?!?" No for that you have to read the novel. Im not kidding there is apparently a novel.
Congratulations. You should be granted an Insta-Platinum trophy for that alone.
"The girl fall in depression because she didint remeber her own birthday"
Me: ... what the actual fuck?
I seriously feely like Balan Wonderworld could have been fixed with just 3 core changes.
1.-Being able jump with every costume.
2.- Have only 10 main costumes with different abilities, 1 for every chapter. Have the rest be cosmetic extras you can get to 100% the game and mix and match with the ability costumes.
3.-Being able to change costumes on the fly.
It would still not fix the other issues but it would make the game passable.
I like how he says hes done, he hasn't even done post game yet
11:59 It's name is Devastator and it's a Decepticon made out of these:
Scavenger (torso)
Hightower (left arm)
Long Haul (right leg)
Mixmaster (head)
Skipjack (left leg, or left foot if the yellow dump truck is included)
Scrapper (right arm)
I really hope Square Enix doesn't scrap this game entirely because the designs are amazing and they deserve better!
In a RPG mabie?
The games director said this was their one chance. That doesn't even begin to scratch the amount of controversy the game has kicked up. Balan is toast.
@@CeHee123 True for the Maker but the Charakter are owned by Enix.
@@Zero_de_Nova Yeah, but I don't see why'd want to use him after how poorly the game was received.
@@CeHee123 It worked out pretty well for Beck from Mighty no. 9, so I think there's a path of redemption for Balan too.

Happy Gilmore: I have to record for being the only one ejected for trying to stab someone with a skate
Choc: hold my beer
I like how the fact she fights imaginary gods in leggings and a jean jacket :0
Remember, this game was made by the same studio who made Final Fantasy
And the Creator of Sonic did made that game as well
Well not really... It was made by the same studio who made Hey! Pikmin... Which I dunno if it makes it better or worse....
@@andreou5711 yeah
What a cluster fuck of a game. Imagine how many people looked at this and said "Yep, let's go with that."
"Even the girl who eats bugs" Bugsnax
Who's the genius at Square that thought "Not being able to jump when wearing a power-up? Totally reasonable." Did no one test this before release??
