In this video, I am comparing the new Strymon Brig with its big brother the Strymon Brigadier. Do they sound the same?
I will demonstrate the similarities and differences between both, and for whom are both pedals.

I'm so bummed they ditched the self-oscillation. Probably near-impossible with just one foot switch to do that AND tap tempo. But I use that feature so much.

So the main advantage of the Brig is multi where you have lush reverb? I already have a Neunaber wet stereo reverb pedal so I'm thinking I may not need that feature

Does the Brig has better stereo options (like Ping Pong)?
Edit: that one second where you showed the tap tempo on the Brig, hit a chord and were still in Multimode - was the most usefull to me. Ping Pong on Brig confirmed!😂
How can you get dotted 8th on the Brig?
Secondary feature on the time knob. Four time divisions.
The 3205 and 3005 modes on the Brig emulate two different real analog BBD chips from Matsushita. The 3005 has lower noise and higher dynamic headroom, whereas the 3205 has a slightly higher noise floor and reduced dynamic range. The latter was used to replace the 3005 because it runs on a lower 5 volts positive rail (to accommodate battery-powered pedals) than the 3005 which runs on negative 15 volts. Their sonic response is rather different and that's why Strymon emulates the two chips here on the Brig. One thing that seems to be missing from either the Brigadier or the Brig, is the aliasing on high-frequency audio content at long delay times because of the lower clock frequency (on real analog BBD pedals). Since both pedals use a high sampling rate and a powerful DSP, they seem to have forgotten to include such artifacts in their software emulation. It's more noticeable on synthesizer sounds than on guitar.
Update to my previous post: I've just bought the Brig, and I'm delighted with it. The maximum delay time is 2 seconds (in tap mode only), and there is some aliasing artifacts on long delay times, just like on a real BBD chips delay. The emulation is really impressive resulting in randomly changing, analog-like repeats. Great job from Strymon's engineers. Only a couple of drawbacks: the PSU is not included with the Brig, and this pedal doesn't work on batteries, and to use it in stereo you need two TRS to TS 1/4" splitters also not included.

Because they're faking it. Might as well buy a digital pedal with multiple types of delays than buy one that's faking it, and only one type of delay lol.
