Learning play bluegrass as kid on front porches on Friday / Saturday nites . I come hear of and know the Sullivan Family from radio . Later on I found out Enoch & Margie Sullivan took country star Marty Stuart under their wing on tour bus as a kid . They taught him how play fiddle/ mandolin . But Sullivan Family could bring any ole time Gospel Song Alive . Some God fearing folks I know is in heaven .
I knew them personally, To me they where not just the Sullivan Family, To me they where apart of my Family, I can hardly wait to see them again when I get to heaven.
I grew up playing banjo with them. Left Kentucky and moved in with them. My school teachers were nice enough to send me my work and I had to do it on the road in the mini van lol. I miss them so much they are just like family to me. We will all meet again one day for a great family reunion 🙏🏼.
Grew up getting to hear them at our church on a many new years eave watch night service. I remember bro Enoch saying that when someone says that are tolerably well, they mean they are well enough to eat but not well enough to work. We all got a big laugh out of his jokes. Precious people.
@@joymayo3422 Thank you for clarifying this. I have enjoyed the Sullivan Family for almost all of my life. I had the privilege of seeing them come to Greenville, MS in 2006. That was the last time I was able to see them. I used to go to the Bluegrass festival that was held at the campground south of Chatom, AL when I was a teenager.

That's br.dewey Renalds on the bass fiddle he was a cousin in law of the sullivans
My best guess is the 2nd Bass Fiddle player was Dick Alexander, from Coushatta, LA. He worked a lot with them back then.
Richard was about the fourth , I was the last joy deville

I have looked at Bill Monroe’s Hall of Fame website and don’t see their name listed. Did their induction get rescinded?
