Same. They used to be on RFDTV but they aren't on there anymore and I miss that. I can't watch those shows anymore because we don't have that channel anymore but wish we did
Thank you, Ed Bruce. That sounds like how my husband and I met. The song could have been written about us. My husband is in heaven now, so the song brings back 22 years of fond memories❤
Man Don Schlitz what a killer songwriter & as much as I love Kenny Rogers the way Don wrote the Gambler is like a whole other song from what Kenny did . If you’re not a fan of Dons then go get your hearing checked . Lol
Ed had a good career - he wrote some iconic songs and he was a successful actor - He had no reason to complain and I'm sure he didn't - I'll tell you who's underrated - at least as far as how they are remembered is Eddie Rabbitt and Earl Thomas Conley - I was never a Ricky Van Shelton fan but for 3or4 yrs he was on the radio constantly
Hi David, I couldn't agree more about ETC and Eddie Rabbitt! I lived in Nashville from the mid 90's to mid 2000's and was a road musician and was lucky enough to work the Opry. I was also fortunate to meet several of the artists we've mentioned. ETC was one of my favorites and is rarely credited with writing Smokey Mountain Memories, which I am sure you know was a hit for the late Mel Street. Eddie Rabbitt wrote his own material and was a great performer that I was fortunate to see prior to and after moving to town. Eddie left us way too soon and is rarely remembered for all of his charity work especially with kids.
I love country music, it has so love and stories, I was country when country was not cool. My whole life alot of my friends made fun of me, but I didn't care, my a momma loved it too.
About ten years ago I was doing a karaoke show in lenoir NC , and Doug stone came in and sang an hour for us for free after a show he did at Catawba co fairgrounds,,I will never forget ,,he started his first song way off key and the crowd just busted out laughing then he looked at me and said ,,now start it over son.
I was gambling, playing poker with some shady characters in a house in New Orleans, when I accumulated the majority of these shady characters pay checks, when I had a small voice in my head tell me to head to the bathroom and climb out the window,so I did!
I have yet to meet anyone who had ever bought a Little Jimmy Dickens record - He must have had pictures of Roy Acuff and Fred Rose smoking weed - or something - There were a lot of talented people who never got a sniff - just sayin
The words of Lanes song," that's where love comes in", is why I love Country music. May not be telling a story of their personal life, but it tells a story of someones life at some point in someone's life. I can't imagine how anyone could hear that song and not have the heart strings tugged at. Absolutely love and live Country music. I pray it never goes away!!! I want my kids, grandkids and everyone I love, who is unable to be counted, to be lifted up and/or enhance their life with words an stories in these great songs.

These folks sound great singing but listening to them sitting around talking is agonizing. Blah blah blah, giggle giggle, ugh. I wanted to get out of the room quick and I wasn't even in it.
I remember watching the grand ole opry with mini pearl Roy Acoff Loretta Lynn the list goes on and on. It’s refreshing to hear these performers
Same. They used to be on RFDTV but they aren't on there anymore and I miss that. I can't watch those shows anymore because we don't have that channel anymore but wish we did

That is true talent. I miss him so much. I grew up listening to him. Breaks my heart.
These people were real country not like the phones of today like Florida gerona line or jelly role.

Ed Bruce is terribly underrated. I remember when he was the Follow Me To Tennessee guy.
