This game was a real fun one. 2 underdog factions not abusing overpowered lores of magic is just soo much more interesting than the typical meta builds that people bring. Reminded me of a tabletop match, where 2 thematic armies duke it out to the death
Agreed far more fun to watch the off meta spells and lorea being used. Very boring watching the same 4 spells used every game. Magic is both one of this games funnest features and one of its biggest curses. No depth to it. Nothing is viable but healing, massive aoe damage spells and summons in that order. In order to balance it properly, it needs full rework with a proper counter spell mechanic like in tabletop. I'll admit that might be hard to implement but a man can dream lol

All True Bretonnion had to do was fully capture that point in the beginning. Really wild how one small mistake can cost you the whole game.

Not a "small mistake" the entire win condition of Domination is based around objectives and one throw away unit early would have secured victory. Sloppy play by a player who should know better.

The problem with amber spear is that its really easy to dodge. It can track targets, but it does it really poorly. It turns so slow and usually just ends up missing. If you can get it to land its a good value though.
Maybe if it moved faster?
This match has got to be the closest ever I've seen. Thought for sure kislev would lose due to not taking advantage of the capture points on both flanks earlier than they bit then I saw there were 6 minutes left and they pulled it back GG!

Bretonnia stuffing Kislev and then just not taking the side points cost them so much.
Damn that was a crazy close game! Both players did a lot right, some understandable micro issues that had me on the edge of my seat, great variety in units from Kislev, no Dwellers bullshit, and almost frustratingly good micro from the paladin. Pretty funny to see the peasant archer firing squad as well, they were insanely effective!
i dont know why the true bretonnion did not capture that third objective with like a peasant or so. it would have cost him almost nothing
Amber spear is probably one of my favorite spells for beast casters. There's something about it that I find so cool on a thematic level.
I actually think it might have gotten stealth buffed by the new landing mechanic. Having a flying caster that can drop down for a few seconds to line up a shot on elite cav is a good option since you miss quite a few if you try to hit from above. It's still not the best spell, and its hitbox is a lot less forgiving than other missiles, especially on flying targets, but I love it.
Wow, what a match. Inspiring to see such good play from these two. I was constantly reevaluating who was on the backfoot.
It was only a matter of time before the Koreans came to this game and showed all of us how to really play.

It does appear bugged in that it seems to never, ever miss.
I mean it has tracking so I would be more annoyed if it missed.
I had to check to make sure that the last 10 minutes weren't Turin speculating on builds, because I thought for sure that Kislev was DONE. More fool me, I guess!
Man though, this game has really made me wonder about how much of the Bret infantry should be Expendable...

The Ice Sheet + Heart of Winter combo is just so much fun when you pull it off.
Kislev need more units asap, it's so sad there is not many ways to play them. I really hope they get a DLC pretty soon.

I feel like Lore of Tempest with gust of true flight and hailstorm would be great for Kislev here, it would allow them to cost effectively damage Archer formations and also make their own Bow Units outrange the peasants

Fay enchantress is trash, get it through your head ppl!! Change from magic resist to spell resist from the previous game + nerfing her mortis effect means she's just a squishy life damsel who can't be spirit leeched (btw same goes for damsels on unicorns). The bretonnian who wants to win will go with Repanse (excellent constant AoE buff and great survivability + able to go toe to toe with a lot of scary SEMs with a paladin to support), or with Louen (armour debuff makes all Knights and archers incredibly cost effective while not having to bring questing knights). Finally, the chad bretonnian will go for Alberic to make questing and hippogryph knights armoured monster slayers. As for the game, I think the true bretonnian lost because of chivalry. It would've been unchivalrous to send a couple knights to the far undefended objective, so he kept trying to win the middle. Either that, or he tunnel-visioned hard, which is too human a mistake for such a player to make.
Fey is the best lord. Has lore of life, and her mortis effect still best in blobbed fights, not to mention that it also provides a -5MA malus. She's fast and not that expensive.
Argument on repanse is wasted because of the addition of Henri as a good SEM killer since he has AL AP no matter what mount he has.
Louen is decent but for that you do need another caster which can factor into costs. Bretonnia has crap capture weight so depending on match-ups you want to have squires or pilgrims, both being quite expensive relative to the capture weight of every unit below their price points so you'll need the coins for that.
Questing knights is a no-brainer anyway since it's the best unit in the bret roster. RoR is probably best cavalry unit in the game in a price/effectiveness ratio. Only reason not to take them is when you are facing factions with little to no armor.
Alberic is worse than both Fey and Louen, +8 AL is not that significant and hard to use because effectively in many since you want to use him to dive things. That and no healing.

Oooooh felt it was over the moment brettonia was yoloing so many cav units into the kislev spawn that got absolutely butchered.. ( understandable trying to get that little grom that was close to death for 10 min haha ) crazy game though
Man I love seeing order factions go at it like this, really makes me want to try multiplayer but skilled players like this make a rookie like myself who's never done it too scared to even try.

Maybe I'm missing something, but not taking that third point early on as Bretonnia is such a weird play. Domination is a points game. If you're on a point uncontested nothing should take more priority than finishing that cap before moving on.

How do you guys feel with the current "expendable" trait being applied to all Bretonnian infantry before the 600 cost battle pilgrims? Seems a bit harsh from a domination balance point of view :s

Long-time lurker here Turin. Do you have tournaments for beginners? I play on very hard campaigns and battle difficulty solo, wide range of factions. But have never really ventured into multi-player and would love to try

Against Bretonnia, I would like to see less Bulls and more Maneaters. Maneater Ironfists get bronze shields and 50 melee defence with good AP values, and they can easily defeat knights, especially when the Maneaters get the charge!
Tzar guard with great weapons have been proven to be great unit lately

Effectively no, overall it's about one a month now. For a while it was none for about five months.
I just don't like these ones :(, it's like sending meat to the grinder and looking what to send to counter the other person, in land battles that's what you got and you have to achieve greatness with the army you chose :)

I feel like lance formation is still not working as intended. Bretonia kept getting decent charges but the damage dealt was minimal...
Is that Ui new to multiplayer, the one with gold and magic reserves, etc. Or is it a mod?? Ohhh and it also has time left to win!!

Did those players know they were playing a domination match?
Between One True Brettonian leaving that side point uncaptured, Janithor capturing it and abandoning it, Janithor parking his infantry right outside the centre capture box near the end, it just looked like the players had completely forgotten that you win this game by holding the points.
Even after Janithor took all three points, the game was still OTB's to lose. Janithor needed a full 7 minutes of the triple cap to win, while OTB only needed 40s on a single point. What OTB should have done was just waited for 2-3 minutes, summoned as much of his cav as he could, and then blitzed whichever point Janithor left least protected. Janithor had way less mobile striking and capturing power than OTB (I think it was 2x Winged Lancer [incl RoR] and 2x Snow Leopard vs 2 or 3x Knights of the Realm [incl RoR] and 2x Questing Knight). OTB could have left Janithor's infantry in the dust, rushed a point with all his cav, captured it, and then sent sacrificial units out to intercept Janithor's counter attack outside the box (he only needed to hold for ~40 seconds, after all).
Instead OTB got blood in his eye and just kept trickling his units into the meat grinder in the centre, heading directly into the teeth of Janithor's shooting, before trying to win a rugby match against a them on the point.
It was fun match to watch, but both players really failed to keep their eye on the ball.

What's the point of the peasant fire arrows? Less AP damage and nothing in the Kislev roster has a weakness to fire, not to mention little healing.
Can reduce healing effectiveness from patriarchs, etc

Hey Turin! Can we please have more land battle features on the channel? I used to enjoy that mode more than this one. It was more cinematic as legendary lords had much more functionality.

I don't really get it. This is only the second game I've ever seen, but both players actions seemed pretty senseless to me at different times during the game. Kislev waiting until the very last moment to actually capture any points in a game mode centered around capturing these points (if this isn't a bad play then I think the game mode needs a lot of work), and then when Bretonnia was so close to winning but they ignored the other points completely until it was too late.
I have to assume there's a lot of stuff I don't know that makes the player's actions make more sense, because they certainly didn't make much sense to me.
No aoe spells that rape formations of infantry really makes battles and warhammer game great but sadly devs put so many of them that this is rarity to see.
I *NEVER* would have thought that kislev could come back from that VP lead the bretonnians had. Holy shit.
