A huge thanks to all involved!
Excellent quality videos, please don't ever stop making them!
Great channel Mate. Looking forward to following this!
Looking forward to this one bud 👌🏻
I love it, I was thinking of k20 swapping my mk7.5 fiesta but I have no idea where to start
Most underrated channel going, such good quality videos
Thanks man!
The 2.5 litre duratec seems a good option, good torque and foundation for more tuning.
But what benefit does the Duratec have over the engine used here?
@@MatMabee You don't need to make a custom wiring loom, it might run on the standard ECU, same engine mounts and gear linkage etc.
2.3 Duratec / Mazda L engines are much more common than the 2.5 here in the UK and are what I would build, a forged 2.3 would make 230-240hp quite happily.
But the Honda K-series is beloved for good reason, and has a much nicer gearbox.
Great vid mate and awesome work.
Really looking forward to seeing this progress, going to be awesome!
Thanks mate!
@@drivemodified7148 do u know any one that has k swapped a astra vxr
@@drivemodified7148the honda is far superior engine to that ford and will take a beating 👍
Wow what an amazing build!
The support is really appreciated man!
This car has probably spent more time apart than actually on the road XD.. Liking the vids!
You are exactly right, hopefully that’ll soon change!
Great video mate. Could you mention the bits when doing them what has to be custom made/ adapted as I was unsure what was being welded and wouldn’t mind doing this conversion myself at some point
Thanks Brad! Yeah this one was a little light on commentary, the welding was a sub frame repair! The next episode is fitting the engine and I will be talking through all the bits we will be using!
Very drastic but after your talking I see why. Guess for me not using my ST160 as a track car I am in a way happy with the standard power but can't wait to be tuned to 190+bhp and 180ish ftlbs once all the mods are done.....which wownt be for a long time haha. Dam why am I not rich
Yeah hopefully people understand! I was fully up for the duratec rebuild but then the civic was just dirt cheap, and fundamentally the k20 is just a better engine! Pains me to say it because I am a Ford man but Honda really know how to build a quality engine! Hard work and perseverance my friend! Great videos by the way!
Great video, roll on the updates!
I personally never understood the K20 swap into the Fiestas in terms of having it converted by someone, but if doing it yourself it makes a lot of sense! I personally stayed in the Ford family with my swap.
I agree! Not something I’d really considered until I had the civic gifted to me 😂
@@drivemodified7148 I ended up sticking an Ecoboost into one of mine, got a decent deal on the engine and 'box so couldn't refuse!
Great swap, this would have been my next option after the k20!
@@drivemodified7148 definitely makes the car lively enough, less scope for huge power but for actually having good usable power it's great.
@@jase_llan which eceoboost engine ?
It’s well worth doing an k20a2 swap to the fiesta, i have seen so many fiesta st mk6 with them and the k20a/ k20a2 are much stronger easily handle 450-500bhp without being opened! I own an ep3 type r and ek4 with k20a2 swap done by myself and both are boosted by myself, was looking at doing the k20 swap on my fiesta st150 but just went supercharger route but never know might snipe up another fiesta st150 and do the k series swap and turbo it😂 good content mate looking forward to see the progress
If you're doing a subframe swap, pick up a base model bröther it's the same components all the way back. Assuming you'd be modifying the unmarried spring damper and torsion bar anyway with some coilovers and braces.
@@MatMabee Mate I know how to do k swaps on different cars, I’ve done a k swap on my ek4. You need a lot of custom parts to make it work meaning engine mounts, gearbox mounts, custom exhaust system, wiring loom etc it’s not cheap. I’ve done a boosted st150 previously which is my own personal track car and that smokes ep3’s. I’ve built boosted civics my self etc so I know what I’m doing
Could I put a k20a2 into a mk7 1.6 3dr fiesta?
@@gamingofthelegend3907 You could pal but you need to do custom work to make it work and run perfect. Sometimes it can cost more than an shagged ep3 type r
@@boostedchris6120 alright thank you very much. I’ve found a mk7 shell for breaking but im gonna try out the k20a2 engine inside instead, it’ll be my first car but I’ll have an experienced mechanic by my side to make everything go swimmingly thank you very much it’s much appreciated :)
Awesome project, what's happening with the caterham inlet 4 in1 and cams off the duratec?
Decent 👍🏾

Hi, you've got a cool channel, I'm glad I found it! I'm really interested in how you got into cars and mechanics, do you think that is something you could make a video on?
Hey Josh! No formal training on mechanics really, hence the videos are pretty light on how to’s! Just learned by having a go at things!
Oi oi 👌🏼
I’ve been interested in doing this for a while but don’t have the time.
Do you have any details of the garage helping you to do it please.
I have a similar project in mind for a street sleeper. Circa 2010 Ford Fusion, K-Swapped. Would the kit available from ARC for the Fiesta be the same as for the Fusion? By the way, ARC's details weren't included in the show notes.
I image they would be the same! They do share lots of components! ARC don’t have a website but I ha e included the Facebook page!
Did you ever consider the St-3 engine, a 5 cylinder would be amazing.
You mean focus st mk2 which is the 5 cylinder, it can fit but it’s tight
Why not build a turbo Ford unit for it ?
I did exactly that a few years ago mate! It worked well but the limiting factor is the gearbox, also it needs a full forged engine build to be reliable and long lasting! This build has been relatively cheap so far!
So 2 months later and there is no new video's... That could only mean that everything went to shit or he's totally changing the whole car
New video coming out this weekend all being well, life is busy unfortunately 😅
@@drivemodified7148 i get that 😅 i'm going to look at an ST in a few days so these vids kinda give me ideas on what to do or not to do.
Simple Kseries are better engines full stop
Hey man great videos love them, I wanted to know what bucket seats you’ve got in the fez?
They are MOTAMEC GT-03 mate! Stupidly comfortable and great quality
