6:23 This is one of the most disheartening things anyone could go through. Here is your friend, your brother, your son, your grandson and they don't remember you. They've literally got rid of the memory of you. The idea of it makes me anxious.
Tbh i would give a lot to just forget some people

Did they genuinely perform an Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on a patient? Just when you think you’ve seen it all.
😂😂
Oh my darling ...
Looking it up, it apparently still happens and has uses.
Apparently a lot of them. You ever having muscle spasms for no apparent reason? Apparently ZAP.
Hoping I live long enough for that to be an acceptable medical procedure.
"You're effectively killing who you are just to keep this secret..."
Sometimes, i wonder what the world would look like if people could only tell the truth, what they're thinking.
Nobody ever likes keeping secrets, yet somehow, we all end up with a head full of them...
People would be telling you your colors clash, your breath smells, you look like you got no sleep... Mind you, that's more a disinhibited world rather than a world without lies.
be a world full of ppl who act like 5 graders lol just rude and no filter
There's a difference between not lying, and saying every thought
The best manipulators use that to the extreme, omission but no objective lies (this guy is lying though)
If nobody wanted to keep secrets you wouldn't have the trust of those who needed them, wouldn't even know who needed them
I just stopped in to say: how the hell did Hugh Laurie never win an Emmy? Or the show itself? It is hands down the most accurate depiction of an expert team of rare disease doctors in an emergency hospital setting ever. The writing is crisp, clever with dry wit and humor. Every actor in the first few seasons especially deserve a standing ovation. The humanity is so gripping and poignant. David Shore and his writers and producers are genius. Even the score is top notch. I love this show and cycle through all the seasons every few years and I get something new every single time. Hugh's irritating and unlikeable demeanor make the moments he becomes a compassionate and relatable human all the more meaningful. Wilson is the voice of reason and is so perfect as Houses' long suffering partner. Cuddys' realistic persona keeps them all in line and she has so many facial expressions that are spot on. I really like Foreman's character too, there are 2 episodes he leads that are Emmy worthy too. Cameron and Chase are super and really grow into their roles. The interpersonal relationships combined with the intellect and cutting humor that seems to get them through their day is so well played. Bravo to all of them, my favorite TV show ever. I can relate to House through my own life experiences and his injury - it came along for me at a time when I had a botched surgery and I have to say saved me. Thank you for this gem of a TV show!!
Victim of its era, look at the emmy winners during Houses run
i always think i've seen all episodes in youtube but something always pops up and it always proves me wrong
The memory usually returns without issues.
ECT is used for major depression--Not to lose memories. Some memory may be lost, but it's rare.
Firemen suits have a LOT of active chemicals that are close to what the "Mad Hatter" had in "Alice in Wonderland". They used Mercury to soften the hat material. They say that once a firemans suit is over so many years old, it should be destroyed.
The Pyro in "Team Fortress 2" has a fire suit that has been leaking into his blood and his immortality with the regeneration has kept him going.
(hahaha reminds me, go to the game and get a "Pyro-Vision" goggles. He has the most fun)
According to Google they stopped using Mercury in hats in 1941.
And apparently hydrogen replaced Mercury
I've been a volunteer firefighter for almost three years now and I enjoyed this fact lol
i havent played TF2 in a long time and i never heard that haha, i remember as a kid seeing videos saying he was gay and schizophrenic haha

It's never lupus
@@shohambose6244fr
No. Lupus doesn't cause the symptoms he had
Except for that one time.
no, it was endometriosis
There are people out there, that would pay anything and everything.. just to "Start Over"..
wait i didnt know they still upload new ones this one is fresh keep it coming cant get enough of house
It never occurred to them to ASK if what he was telling them was true? Even just a "hey, congrats on your upcoming wedding" would have derailed his supposed excuse.
Why would they question it? There was no reason to suspect he was lying. It would be borderline psychotic for someone to feel the need to verify everything someone says. The only reason she would have asked is if she wanted to tell her about his feelings for her . But she can't because of patient-doctor confidentiality.
@@kbee225 Why? Because he's using it as the reason he's giving them permission to scramble his memory. That seems to me a pretty good reason to verify that it's true. I guess some wouldn't.
At the end, they show that the memories regarding the girl were fake, but he believed them, since his brain made them up.
It’s a show! Not real life
@@kbee225Everybody lies!
The memory with ECT always comes back. I hope this episode didn’t turn real people off to ECT when it could’ve helped them.
I think One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest turned a lot more people off ECT than House
I might be missing three weeks of my life but i sure remember everything else. I am only missing the time when i had ECT twice a week. This is not how ECT works.
Why would keeping a secret cause him to have heart attacks? So many people don't or can't tell someone they love, that they love them. Wiping out all memories was such an extreme move. Also how come no one checked his house or talk to his brother to find out if his brother really had a child with Amy? Big screwup.
chase sounds like house
Aways had been.
That's the idea
@@saih5024 Except House cares about his patients but hides it. And chase the other way around.
No not always
They originally planned for foreman to take the spot, something happened with the actor and they changed gears to Chase@@kolper6799
Chase is forced to use his bedside manour, if he was allowed to be as detatched as House who knows@@kbee225

7:10 So…she wasn’t dating Rocky and they erased his memory of them for nothing??
I used to love it when they'd give me a shot of lorazepam intravenously. Took only taking it a few times in hospital for me to get addicted to it. I'm prescribed 20mg of Diazepam which i have to take daily just to feel normal and not get withdrawals
If true, your docs need to wean you off it
@@davidrennie8197 lorazepam is very addictive, there are medication that for the same reason, can only be given by medical prescription, more if the medication is for people with a mental condition

Well hello there dr. Warren. Looks like House m.d was the hub for all med drama actors.
i didn't know this is something they could do
When I was in the mental hospital, some people did the shock treatment every other day. After it's done, they just sit there looking like actual zombies until their brain starts firing right again.
If you destroyed enough neurons or synapses to delete a person that important to you, you’d have a lot more problems. Plus it’s definitely sci-fi to induce targeted amnesia
@@kellyhone2612 Apparently if you hyper-fixate on something it can be used to help disrupt it. Doesn't seem like a common thing, though.

30 frames per second? house is beyond mad at this point! everyone knows that a human eye cannot see above 24fps!
Not true in the slightest lol
Not even close to true, the human eye can easily register an image it sees for less than 300 milliseconds, ask anyone you know who plays video games if they can tell the difference between 30 fps and 60, or 60fps and 120, all of them will tell you that can without question
It varies from 30 to 60. 24fps is just the minimum at which we stop seeing the frames and motion becomes smooth. That's why everyone in really old movies is moving all janky and stuff. The people who made the early cameras hadn't figured it out yet.
The 24fps thing is joke peeps, don't take it seriously
Wrong. Hollywood film standard is 24 fps while home video is 30 fps. The frame difference is why they look differently visually.
1:50 oi mate
I heard of female menopause but I never heard of male menopause
Breason
Male menopause is just saying the testosterone is way low in a man.. Usually when they are older...
Is it called andropause?
Instead of seeing a psychologist, they wipe his memory. (thumbs up) Got it. lol
Couldn’t he just get a girlfriend of his own, if he thought his girl crush was engaged to his brother? I’m just saying…
Nah that's tragic
Complete misrepresentation of ECT!!! Holy dramatization for TV!
I just realized this is the same actress that played the one secretive Air Force pilot, that tried to pay House with a bag full of cash.
Hey! They’re actually not the same actress. The actress in “The Right Stuff” (Air force episode) was Essence Atkins. The actress here is Meagan Good 😁
You should adjust your schedule back to noon now that daylight savings time has been adjusted. Now I will be late getting back to work from my lunch hour.
