- Hello friends. In the video I present in detail the planting and harvesting of Yam, also known as Cará, Taioba, Elephant ear, Malanga, Caladium. Taro planting should be done at the end of winter and beginning of spring, choosing vigorous tubers, without diseases and with many buds. It should be planted at a depth of 15 cm, adopting a spacing of 1.2 x 0.5 meters. During its development, it should be irrigated daily preferably, keeping it free of weeds. The Taioba harvest can be done after 180 days of planting, however, you can wait longer or harvest when most of the leaves wither. Taro productivity can vary according to the soil, climate and water availability, with a high water supply, long photoperiod and mild temperatures favoring its development.
I hope the video was helpful. Thank you very much and hug.
