I was around for the transition to the M9 and carried one as my primary duty weapon for many years. I also shot on the pistol team. In those days we had to document every round fired due to the slide issue. The slide issue came from special operators using ammo not recommended for the M9 which caused some cracks to occur in the slide. The M9 is a fine weapon and never actually had anything wrong with it.
Agreed. Probably just as common as was the 1911 in it’s heyday! Stands to reason. Both were designed by the same genius firearms designer. Mr. John Moses Browning.
@@andystegall7407 never had an issue on the trigger on any one I fired and 13 rounds in 1935 was impressive for its time, outside of the us the High Power has had a far more impressive record
@@TheTyrantOfMars So? This isn't 1935 anymore. Some of y'all get nostalgia cloud your common sense. I hear people say the Mauser C-96 should make a comeback too based on nothing more than it looks cool. Having 5-6 more shots than most other pistols at the time doesn't negate the crappiness of actually shooting the thing. The trigger is garbage, the magazine disconnect is a dumb, useless idea, the safety levers get in the way and you have to have a bad grip on it to avoid hammer bite if you plan on shooting it for more than a magazine at a time, and to top it off in some cases the extractor spring wears out which is exacerbated by the tiny ejector port. Why would I waste my time on a gun that's uncomfortable to shoot and requires extra work to mitigate the flaws by taking it to a gun shop and spending more to fix the trigger, safety levers, and hammer when I could just get a gun that doesn't have all those problems out of the box? I could just save money and buy a Glock 19 instead which does everything Hi-Power does, but with +2 or more in the magazine and is way more comfortable to shoot?
The P226 also does not have a safety, so you can just pick it up and fire immediately. They also did not mention that the gun can be covered in mud and grime and still fire. Frozen, it still fires. It will always fire.

I'm glad these videos are posted on RUclips, the channel this show airs on is part of a package from my local cable company that costs $23 extra per month so I'm not able to afford that just for the one channel I want to watch!
I love seeing people analyze the evolution of firearms and hearing what goes in to decisions regarding what becomes "the next thing" in terms of something as simple as being a few ounces lighter or everything being suppressor ready now from the go.
This is just fantastic. Larry & Company cut through the trends, the hype, and the misinformed, amateur craziness that seems to pervade the world of youtube firearms enthusiast. I always love seeing the good old work horse beretta. Still my go to EDC. Sadly after 15 or so years I'm about to retire her for a g19/g26 setup. I'm over trying to carry to fit what I think my daily activities will allow as for fullsize/compact carry. With the g19/26 setup I get primary and backup and can carry an extra mag the fits both frames. So when needed I can drop the primary still have the backup with extra mag.. I have to be honest, I traded my SIG 226 in 9mm for the new HK p30. At first I thought the new grips were a bit gimmicky, but I found it to be superior to the SIG and that's saying a hell of a lot. 226 owners know what a great pistol it is. The ergonomics are better for me (I would say I have "average" sized hands) I love the long easily accessible slide stop (I chamber rounds with it, not by pulling back on the slide) and it is much more accurate than the SIG out of the box. Again that's saying a lot. It's priced about the same compared to some of the newer 226 models like the navy seal version and the extreme. I think it's as much as an evolution and improvement over the SIG, as the SCAR 17 is to the AR platform. If you're looking for something new in 9mm try out the p30. More accurate than the USP as well (at least in my experience with it). Another great video from Larry and his crew!
