Count me in the group of people who didn't know about this. Something I've done is to open both versions and then copy the components over into a new (temporary) design. Then you can use the Modify->Combine tool to cut the old from the new or cut the new from the old. You could also do an intersection between the two. If you keep the tool bodies and then turn on Component Color Cycling (in the Inspect menu or Shift+N) you sort-of get a look at what has been changed. You can also, of course, hide/show the bodies/components to toggle back and forth.

Knew compare files was available but never had a clue as to its use, could be VERY handy.
