I saw him in Brewer, Maine on this same tour. So glad I did. He is his own chapter in the great American song book. And his versions of Up, Up And Away, MacArthur Park and this gem were rapture to hear. Add to that, he is a story teller. His tales of working with The Fifth Dimension and Glen Campbell were great. Please come out and near me again!
fantastic to hear the voice of jimmy webb singing one of his classics.....it may be gravely, weak but it is in key and wonderful.....go see this legend in his own time....
I like Jimmy Webb gives credit where credit is due. Carole Kaye's part added a lot to the song. Like Sonny & Cher's The Beat Goes On, woudn't have hit without her bass line; that's still played on a TV drug commercial today ( I hope she gets a royalty for it ) !
Wow, I couldn't imagine. Great thanks to Carol Kaye with her effortless contribution(s) and Glen's / Jimmy's solo - was it the chicken or the egg that came first? : ).. don't matter when they're this tasty.
It’s wonderful to hear the writer Jimmy Webb who sang his masterpiece that was full of passion.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
If not THEE most.
Halleluja. Great song. So emotional. Thank you. Started with Rick Beato, heard Glen Campbell. Wichita Lineman. And now I am here.
Like most of us!
Love how at the end he adds the tinkling of the keys… like a power pulse. Master writer.
