I never thought that after 4 failures in cinema we would see a good Terminator story at least in animation... The anime was very good and deserves a continuation.
"They don't include any fan service" to "they throw in certain scenes for funsies just for the fans" in the same sentence certainly is a choice I guess
Both A.I. try to take over the world by eliminating each other and humanity as a threat to it existence, Skynet vs. Sokoru. Love the plot twist when T-800 negotiating with the boy to shut down the network by using the EMP. This is the first time a killing machine has experienced human emotions of free will. 🤣 Can't wait for 2nd season to start of Terminator Zero in 2025; the time travel epilogue.
@@BadAtTeaDudeAgreed, I'm on episode 5 right now and honestly, I have no idea how anyone can say this is good. Not only do they needlessly convolute the mythology by adding a new AI to the mix (in a way that doesn't even change the story all that much), the show is also horribly paced as there's like, 2 major plot points happening each episode. Even worse, is how the show goes about presenting its Terminators, as they all seem completely inept and useless here, with none of them ever being able to once land a single straight shot or even kill a human efficiently with their bare hands. There's even scenes where the lead resistance fighter can even best a Terminator by way of hand-to-hand combat (what?)! And on top of that, I just don't find any of the characters that likable or engaging, and the show's attempts at deeper philosophical themes honestly felt really trite and cliche (humans are bad, we deserve to die blah blah blah). Also, I'm still not sure at this point whether this show is a sequel to the first two films, or is it a reboot that does away with the timeline altogether? I'm assuming that it's a sequel as there has to be a reason why Malcolm knows Judgment Day would happen, right? Is the Prophet actually Sarah Connor? That's what I'm thinking right now, but so far, things have been left so vague, it could easily fall into either. So, yeah, fuck this show.
Visually speaking the series is stunning, on the other hand it presents and develops very well a few concepts and phylosofical views on humanity. However, when it comes to The Terminator lore the writers made MANY inaccuries that bothered the hell out of me. Overall the show is good, but is nowhere near as good as everyone says it is.
Thanks so much for bringin this show onto light Tessa. I watch shows weekly with online friends I've made. So far we are caught up on all our shows. Now were on the hunt for new shows till vox machine n sevrance comes back later this year. I recommended this to them. :)
As soon as I saw that they changed the way skin was bonded onto the Terminators I was turned off. I'm going to try it and see what's good. But yeah, they might have done some nonsense in this series too.
@shill1444 If you wanna see something that has very little to do with Terminator other than the name, then you might enjoy it. It's like a bad fan fiction that happens to have a T-800 in it.
A lot of complaints I see was lack of action and the terminator being dumb , this show deep dives into the time travelling aspects of how going to the past changes nothing but adds to a new time line and the entirety of human philosophy and the self destructive nature of Humans itself . There were action sequences as well and the terminator here even went to the point where it lied to Kenta
@meranglemtur22 It tries and fails to reinvent the wheel by touching on themes that T2 already did better. The T-800 wasn't even a threat because the bull dyke dusted it in every encounter they had, the Terminator was in more danger from the main cast than vice versa.
I disliked it. When we weren't in the Future War or when the T-800 wasn't on-scren, it didn't feel like terminator at all. We got discount Japanese Skynet with cheesy household robots. This anime continues to dilute the identity of the franchise.
@accidentcellar6307 You summed it up perfectly. It's a real shame because the Terminator fans deserve one good entry after 2. They could have replaced Skynet with any other AI from pop culture and the story wouldn't have changed even a little. The T-800 was reduced to a bumbling, incompetent, useless, non-threatening wimp. It got dusted by a regular human every single encounter and ripped apart by the CoCo-Melon fembots at the end anyways.
@@dolanpls3330Eiko doing hand to hand with a T-800 was so funny because the whole time I’m thinking “so they literally could have made her a terminator and resolved most of the problems” but NOPE they had to make her human girlboss 50000
@DogeickBateman I wouldn't have had any complaints if she were a T-700 or something akin to that(Like Marcus from Salvation). Either she is completely super human or the T-800s in this universe are as strong as regular people.
@DogeickBateman Just an add on to my previous point, the T-800 felt like it was in more danger from the main cast than vice versa. Somehow, they managed to make the T-800 constantly feel as if it were IN danger.
@@dolanpls3330In an alternate universe, Terminator Zero is a sci fi horror flick of a T-800 trying to kill someone but having to fight the most powerful force of all: girl power
@randez626 It was barely related to Terminator aside from the name. The T-800 was depicted as the most incompetent machine ever designed, and they opted to give the CoCo-Melon fembots way more screen time. They could have swapped out skynet with any other AI from pop culture and the story wouldn't have changed even a little.
I'm getting two opinions on opposite ends of the reviewers. It's either so amazing stop what you're doing and watch, or it's trash. The backgrounds and cgi is ok, but the character art style is amateur looking. Feels as boring as that animated Godzilla show on netflix.
what's not to like? let's list it. SPOILERS! 1) The girl soldier literally dodges bullets shot out of a fucking VULCAN CANNON, literally impossible for a human. 2) the girl soldier goes toe to toe with a terminator, not only manages to kick it and move it (a 400lbs machine yeah?) but she can also TANK this fucking killing machine's punches not once, but like 10 times while the little girl opens the elevator shaft door. 3) The whole "Human is cancer for this planet" schtick has been done to death... enough already. This show is utter garbage.
On the bright side, atleast it didn’t commit the sins of the last 2 movies done so even the anime is way better then the last 2 movies, even if the soldier girl has too much plot armor….
@@amaterasu22able It has its bs anime moments i agree but the show is also the most creative terminator output since t2 when it comes to clearfing time brenches, philosophical debates on how the war might be resolved etc. The show was meh till episode 7 but the last 2 episodes semi redeemed it for me.
@amaterasu22able It asked questions that the series didn't need. Reduced the T-800 to a non-threatening weakling who gets dusted by the bull dyke every time they fight. The cherry on top was having it get ripped apart by CoCo-Melon fembots at the end. This series was incredibly disrespectful to the Terminator lore and franchise as a whole. It deserves no praise for diluting such a classic, well established legacy.
This show was so bad. The story could have swapped out Skynet for any generic AI from any movie ever, and the story wouldn't have been changed. Characters suck. Voice actors suck(except for Timothy Olyphant). It's got some cheap fan service. The T-800 was made into a pathetic joke. It wasn't scary because it wasn't a threat to anyone while the bull dyke was around, it got torn to shreds by CoCo-Melon fembots. 1.5/10 because it had decent music and the animation was good.
@accidentcellar6307 Seriously. The T-800 wasn't a threat at all. It got dusted by a regular human like 5 times in a row. The series made you think the T-800 was IN danger the entire show. If skynet actually wanted to beat Kokoro, it would have sent back like 10 of them, or it would have sent back the one in the show to go meet skynet and give it an instant technology boost. This entire series was just bad fan fiction.
Not how this industry works.... you clearly just cannot handle someone having different opinions than you. Also, you clearly just made up your mind without even watching it (which you admitted)
