Great video! I love how I watched a GTN video and they asked a lot of athletes do they do any of their bike maintenance and most of them were a resounding no and you’re over here building the whole thing from the ground up. Pretty impressive.
Someday if I’m in Peru and something breaks.. I’ll know how to fix it 👌 it’s a special experience building your own bike. I think it’ll ultimately treat you better if you put in the love
Gratitude for sharing & CONGRATULATIONS on your SRAM/ZIPP collaboration. I have not had the pleasure of working in a bike shop, but I know the meditative zen of bike maintenance. May your rides serve as induction coils for the miles ahead.
Blessings you guys always keeping the good vibes and very humble couples keep working hard and everything Will come your way greetings from Wisconsin peace and love
Not sure if it matters, but I got two ads at 2:03 right in the middle of your sponsorship announcement. Awesome bike, I'd like an Argon 18 myself someday!
Dual-tap the levers to shift the chainring seems to be the only “advantage” with SRAM (it’s obviously a slightly slower mechanism to a single tap) because that’s also the only thing these guys mentioned in another video.
I tested several rode bikes in the same day. Most totally stiff and twitchy very uninspired. When I got on the Argon I could feel it stretching over the bumps and shocked how comfortable it was. Then put the pedal down and the bike jumped forward so much it almost got away from me. Sold. They're clearly engineered at a different level than others.
It’s lighter and more playful feeling than the nitrogen. Also significantly more comfortable in terms of vertical compliance. Most true aero road bikes I’ve ridden in the past give up a bit of ride feel for that aero advantage.
@@ThatTriathlonLife Yes, I'm looking to replace my five year old Scott Addict. I'm also looking at a Cervelo S5. What are your thoughts on the Argon 18 and what made you buy it? Also, who plays the song with "a three legged dog walks into a bar"?
Eric, it's getting tiring saying another amazing video every week, but...😆. haha, just joking of course, it _never_ gets tiring saying that! Great stuff again as always, thank you!
Thought the grease on your nose was a nose ring for a second #edgy And mad respect for the triathletes that down their own bike maintenance, even if it takes 3 days ;)
You are going to need a radar detector on your bike. to prevent you from getting speeding tickets! HA! Question: when you finished the bike build, did it feel like it was new bike day! Selainte!
6:20 Yes, the vegan one. All day, every day. Happy to see that price is becoming less and less relevant for choosing more environmentally-friendly and cruelty-free nutrition.
Sponsorship and brand preference seem to be the two primary driving factors. You do see Campag TT bikes on the pro biking circuit, but I think triathletes have just stayed away from it for the two reasons mentioned. Campagnolo has had TT specific groupseys including a very aero crankset in the past, but don't think they have one for their current 12 speed line (hardly important - the 11 speed groupset is more than sufficient and you can still buy the 11 speed TT parts for it online). The only part that might be difficult to get hold of was their super aero crankset, but substituting a standard aero 11 speed crankset (even the new 12 speed crank might work, as I think it is backwards compatible with 11 speed). They have the TT shifters in both mechanical and EPS, and even the brakes have extra electrinic shiftets on them so you can shift while on the base bars. Price is no longer a reason for people to stay away from Campagnolo as both Shinano and SRAM are now crazy expensive on their top end models. The only downside to Campsgs TT set was they never really offered the really huge chainring sizes some guys like to run (e.g. 64 tooth chainring), and no third party company ever stepped in to offer a larger chainring. 55 is the largest stock chainring you can get and you probably can't even get hold of that anymore so you are limited to the standard 53 tooth.
I’d agree with all of this and just add that it’s a matter of slow change over time. When I got into the sport, Campy TT stuff was pretty atrocious and even when they developed electronic TT equipment, they didn’t make any effort to put it in the hands of triathletes, and it was more expensive, so it never even seemed like an option. Fast forward ten years and that first impression hung on and I still don’t think they’ve made any effort to market to triathletes at all
Eric is there a need for going 2x on a roadbike these days? Who needs a front derailleur on the roadbike anymore? One by is more aero, looks cooler, is lighter, more silent and way more sleeker ... I went for 1x Sram RED on my New Dogma F ... no regrets!!!
Totally depends on where you ride, IMO. Road bikes are more at home on hillier courses where you ever extreme range for uphill and pedaling downhill vs TT bikes typically don’t come out for the super hilly days
So final thoughts, after my bike ride, bike is to small, dont bump your knees on the bars, but small bikes are fast, maybe little lighter, they just feel small, like cant stretch out, but sorry for reaction after being timed out, as it was a reaction, last time I was timed out, kindergarten, lol,,,but maybe more then small bike, why would you swear on the video, see enlighten people, or happy people either one, same thing, we don't swear, its like the word you said, is like doing that to your time, and if you say that word on video, its like you bring that word into everyone's day, think you messed up, but maybe learn from it, and stop swearing, as its going to be even tougher if you ever find me on the bike with that energy,,,have fun my competition,,,

Such a great video! We're so excited for this partnership.
Lol..that was obvious haha
Watch Eric building the bike is almost like seeing a sculptor creating your prime art. As always, insane content!! Happy for the growth of the channel
The look on Eric's face says it all - pure delight!
Gratitude for sharing & CONGRATULATIONS on your SRAM/ZIPP collaboration. I have not had the pleasure of working in a bike shop, but I know the meditative zen of bike maintenance. May your rides serve as induction coils for the miles ahead.
OMG I love love love the double tap for the front derailleur. Amazing.
Exciting times with your new bike! Enjoy!! 👏🏽👏🏽😍
That was such a cool bike build sequence. Congrats on the new partnerships!
I’m drooling over here. So cool.
Wild Hearted music was excellent - can't stop listening
This was a goodie my G. So detailed. Keep it gangster
Thanks for the weekly motivation!
You receive a like just for the video editing! Must’ve taken ages organize all the awesome footage. Thanks again! 💯
Thank you! What took ages was learning to build a new bike model with new components and filming it at the same time 😅
Best part about new bike day is the automatic 20W FTP Boost!
100%
Maximum effort Cheetos! Nice bike you got there...glad to see skinny aero is back
Dudes got serious build skills
Nice to see you with sram.
Your videos get better every week
Thanks man 🙏
That Argon is such a beauty
Actually thinking about buying an Argon TT bike currently. Have many good & safe rides on it Eric!
Can’t recommend them enough. If you get a chance to ride one, you’ll be sold
Blessings you guys always keeping the good vibes and very humble couples keep working hard and everything Will come your way greetings from Wisconsin peace and love
Sweet ride, enjoy!
Such a cool looking bike, and such a talented guy you are. Not a lot of people can build their own bike, specially with all these new technology.
Good to see Eric getting out of the stoneage and up to date with this tech.
Lol
loving yalls podcast
Stoked to hear it 🤙
Loved the bike build! I need to get Double Tap for my TT bike.
The 1x12 system with just hitting up and down… main reason I switched.
Not sure if it matters, but I got two ads at 2:03 right in the middle of your sponsorship announcement.
Awesome bike, I'd like an Argon 18 myself someday!
No, that matters, thanks for the heads up 🙏
man that new bike looks EPIC....... this vid alone makes me wanna get an Argon18
You won’t regret it 🤙 best ride quality out there
this video made me question my loyalty to shimano. hahaha.
congrats on your new bike. and big kudos on building it on your own.
I feel like building your own bike just strengthens the bond and it never hurts when you’re on the road to know how everything works 👌
Cool watching the bike build and how excited you get for a new bike! I am the same except for the ability to install disc brakes! #savetherimbrake
I won’t lie, I miss the simplicity! Every time I have to bleed breaks I need a beer and a major psych up session first haha
Dual-tap the levers to shift the chainring seems to be the only “advantage” with SRAM (it’s obviously a slightly slower mechanism to a single tap) because that’s also the only thing these guys mentioned in another video.
I love my etap, just got to get it for my road bike now. Or maybe just a new road bike with etap already! haha
If you’re getting new components.. might as well!
Wow! Really nice!
love the build, now it’s time for some white roadshoes und socks :D
Waiting on the big S to send me my +1 gear haha
Beautiful new bike. I'll miss those super cool Rolf rims though. The Rolf twin spoke looks so gnarly. But, rolling in 454s is ok too. 😁🤘
I really love the new SUM but nothing for the number crunchers!? Weight and frame size please :-)
I tested several rode bikes in the same day. Most totally stiff and twitchy very uninspired.

Sold. They're clearly engineered at a different level than others.
I’ve always said this since we were selling Argon in the tri shop I worked at in 2010. People take them for a test ride and always love them.
How dos it compare to your previous A18 Nitrogen? More comfortable, nimbler, stable, quicker handling, etc?
It’s lighter and more playful feeling than the nitrogen. Also significantly more comfortable in terms of vertical compliance. Most true aero road bikes I’ve ridden in the past give up a bit of ride feel for that aero advantage.
I came here looking to find about the bike, but that intro song is killer!
Hopefully you got what you needed on the bike! Let me know if not

It's Awesome!!!!!!
Love the bike
The same guy is filming this, editing this, building the bike, riding the bike, and competing as a professional. Who even needs sleep?
Congrats on the new bike! Was curious if you weighed it? Looking for my first Tri bike now and the Argon E-117 disc is on my list to consider.
Is there a TT bike coming?
Mmhmm
Awesome
Great video. Enjoyed the bike trash talk at the end. Is Eric on a Canadian bike and Paula on an American bike? Weird.
I like Canadian things and she likes American things 😉

Weight?
I have seen different videos on your channel
You r doing a great job. Keep up the good work. One day you will be successfull
#sidhra_rider
Thanks 💪
The music sounds like X....John Doe & Exene Cervenka
Do you two have the same sponsors?
Up until this year, mostly no. We share quite a few now, but still ride different bikes, obviously.
#savetherimbrake
You are going to need a radar detector on your bike. to prevent you from getting speeding tickets! HA! Question: when you finished the bike build, did it feel like it was new bike day! Selainte!
Totally! Getting the bike in the mail was sweet, but the feeling wasn’t complete until I was rolling :)
I dont understand how you managed to build it in 3days… I could not have stopped until I was finished😂
I was missing a couple parts, otherwise I’d have been up all night as well 😂
6:20 Yes, the vegan one. All day, every day. Happy to see that price is becoming less and less relevant for choosing more environmentally-friendly and cruelty-free nutrition.
Other than sponsorship issues...Is there a reason that triathletes don't ride Campy?

Thank you 🙏 glad you liked it
Amazing bike build video. Why isn’t Paula riding for a Canadian Bike Company? She’s too good for them I guess. You the man though!!
Eric is there a need for going 2x on a roadbike these days? Who needs a front derailleur on the roadbike anymore? One by is more aero, looks cooler, is lighter, more silent and way more sleeker ...

cassette is 10-33 ,not 10-34
If you knew what I would do for sram red e-tap 12 speed you would not want to even know my name
Terrible unforgivable things 😂
