Melting lead is nothing new, what you shape lead is....
Keep in mind this is very dangerous and toxic fumes can cause cancer and damage to your body.
I melt lead once a year to avoid this problem. The lead is attached to the crab snaring cages for weight and keeping them separate makes it easier to storage for future supply.
There are many shapes and sizes of molding on the internet market you can buy from. I only use 2 that are perfect size to weight down my crab snares. I do not sell snares I use them for catching and sharing with friends.
Crab snaring on Pacifica Pier or beaches has been the best way to catch vs using crab nets. Less mess and easy to carry around. I've been fishing and crabbing for years never gets boring.
