What a day in the fields watching this 2 years later I still get excited for y'all . That drill Kenneth found is a once in a lifetime find been hunting for 4 or 5 years now and never found a drill! I did find a broken axe which I thought I would never find but hey gotta keep looking!! Jacob.L MD
I'm gonna think positive, WHOLE! awe heck! I'm gonna say WHOLE again! YES! Guys, I have had so much fun watching this video. A lot of brokes but good fun and fellowship. I look so forward to your videos. Thank You.
1/2 whole . I got it right too. Great video guys. I will agree about that theory of the bases. I love that y’all was showing them tools too. Randy found a great one
Thanks Calvin. We have said it before and I know you are the same way from watching your arrowhead videos, we are after artifacts. The perfect ones are just a bonus. Good luck to you my friend.
Nice day guys that’s some awesome stuff even if they are broke I’ll take any I find like that any day and that knife Randy put a deer horn handle on for Mike is some kind of fine. You guys and Pinebelt are my favorite channels keep um coming and God Bless y’all.
Thanks and you're absolutely correct. They're all artifacts and they aren't making the broke ones any longer either. Thanks again and God bless you and yours.
Awesome video, and so funny randy, you guys are slaying it with the awesome photography....beautiful area too. Since Santa missed my house the last few years...I’m hoping for a nice t shirt, to show it off on my new motorcycle! Won’t I look amazing? Those t shirts are off the chain 🔪😍🇨🇦😍❤️🦉🦉🌸
Spike I agree with your theory on the broke bases in the camp sites. I’ve always thought they were take offs from the hunt where a point was broken. Love y’all shows and keep up the great content! Blessings to all
Saving points. That's what its all about. Great to see you guys pounding the dirt. Nice work on the antler handle for Mike. Some day I'm going to find my way down south for a visit. Nobody has more fun hunting artifacts than your bunch. Good luck.
Hey, even the broken ones are artifacts and worth saving! So good to see you guys out with Mike. That was a beautiful knife Randy and Mike crafted! Awesome finds!
Great video Gents .. zuper finds .. field hunting is always hit & miss for sure.. our Irrigation District is delivering water clear into December this year ..so times are tough right now.. not to mention a winter storm coming in ..24 right now
Man that’s another great vid Spike!!! So glad I got to be part of that adventure!! Always a blast hunting and hanging out with you guys!!! Hope you’re taking care of yourself buddy!! Holler if u need me!! See y’all soon!! 👍
Thanks Mike! So glad you were there. Wish Zach could have made it too. Hope yall did good today. Thanks again and I'll holler if I need anything buddy.
Even though the ratio is not on your side in the fields there’s always that chance... as I always say if there’s dirt showin it’s worth goin!! good video y’all👍
Every artifact is a window in to history (I search for artifacts and fossils here in Atlantic Canada I appreciate the chance to view every artifact you find)
My opinion is that those are some crude & ugly points. But I got to admit I love the drill You guys got a couple keepers & that nice drill. Nice video. Like always
I had a rise in ohio that i could find broke bases any time, never a full point or broke tip. For years i couldn't figure it out, but it is where the did atl atl repairs on darts. Pretty sure of that, found drills, full groove hammer and scrapers.
I found two of them antler knife handles in Florida covered in a grey with shells concrete material that took vinegar to get off it wish I could post pictures of them in these comments
Thanks and congratulations on those finds. We wish pictures could be posted in these comments too. You can post them on our Facebook page if you would like.
oh, we would love nothing better than to find a lot more heart stoppers but these fields have been hunted hard for about 25 years. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
I don't know anything about Michigan but I do know these people lived all over north America. I would think it would definitely be worth looking around. Keep in mind that water is the key.
How did y'all add the rod to the can? I have a probe but it was made for me but I want to use my Daddy's cane (RIP DADDY) it would mean more to me., Thanks for any info
Thanks for the question. We use wooden hiking sticks with a stainless steel probe (usually made from a car antenna). Drill a slightly smaller pilot hole in the end of the stick and tap the probe into it. Make sure bot ends of the probe are ground flat. If you drive a pointed probe into the stick it will split it. We just stick it into the ground as we are walking. I don't try to push it into the hard ground too hard. That'll wear you out. We usually only probe for single rocks in plowed fields or softer ground. We also use them in the creeks to find pockets of gravel.
That's called a deer antler not a deer horn cattle have horns not deer. Horns don't fall off their permanent antlers fall off. I am a flintknapper that White Blade looks to me like it's either Burlington or white novaculite
IMO Its a combination of several factors but you're right with both your ideas. After European contact up to 90% died off over a 100 year period. Then as the European colonists started arriving the natives started using other materials such as steel to make points and knives. Plus many of these items were brought over as trade goods. So in short European contact happened, which was the beginning of the end for stone tools in the new world. Spike
I hate to foil your ratio of points to bases. The bases would have been hafted to the shaft they would have brought that back to camp even if broken unless they got rid of all their foreshafts in the field which I wouldn't do. I think someone was ahead of you and picked up all the tips and left you all the bases. Good luck guys
What a great gift
Thanks for sharing your sweet fellowship and wholesome videos with us, and your amazing finds and the knife.
Thanks and it is our pleasure. Thank you for watching and for leaving such a nice comment.
You are correct about your theory on broken points.
Thanks. When you do something long enough you pick up on certain things. Thanks for the corroboration.
Thanks ! That ending ...I laughed til my guts hurt

Thanks for taking us along ! Great friends and great finds . Gotta go back when that place gets some good rain .
Thanks Cliff. Randy and I went back and found a few more pieces. Its been picked over pretty good the past 25 years or so.

You're right Jeff! Those fields have produced quite a few artifacts over the years.
SPIKE, I Believe your theory is correct, thanks for sharing.
Thanks.
Y’all had me laughing at the end 😀
Thanks Calvin then we have done our job lol.
Nice finds guys!

Ok, which one of you guys spends the most time “ in the truck”? That just cracks me up...
lol The one that finds the most which usually isn't me.

Nice video guys....I’m new add this, I live in mid Michigan farm land. Would it be worth my time to roam around and look for artifacts ? Thanks
I don't know anything about Michigan but I do know these people lived all over north America. I would think it would definitely be worth looking around. Keep in mind that water is the key.
13 people that disliked the vid are jealous they have found nothing but sex stones.....
😂😂😂
How did y'all add the rod to the can? I have a probe but it was made for me but I want to use my Daddy's cane (RIP DADDY) it would mean more to me., Thanks for any info
We pre-drill a small hole into the stick, grind a flat spot on the end of the metal rod and tap it into the hole. A pointed end will split your stick.
What are the sticks you guys probe with? And how do ya us them?
Thanks for the question. We use wooden hiking sticks with a stainless steel probe (usually made from a car antenna). A lil rounded off but nice just the same!
How do I get my hands on one of those walking stick probes? Are they custom made? If so what is all the hardware I would need.
We just take a regular hiking stick and put a 12" to 16" piece of car radio antenna in the end of it.
@@HeartbreakerRelics thank you!

Thanks for the input but we know its an antler but we still call them horns because its easier to say lol.

Is that a drill point?
Half
What do yall think they did? Just died off or just stopped making points??
