How would macs be better for programming? There is nothing about hardware that tells if it’s better for programming or not. And if u are implying that a MacBook is good for programming, what programming language are u implying?
bo zai yeah but I asked what language because there are certain types programming that are now being done through the gpu’s processors and some that require more ram than cpu power. For example, in data science and machine learning, a graphically overkill and a ram loaded machine is required to have the machine learn and calculate tens of thousands of data. A razer blade’s specs is literally the minimum. I wouldn’t think mac would survive the machine learning world
I have a feeling the difference between the processor results comes from the under clocking from the razer laptops. The last generation with dedicated graphics was operating at 15W compared to their integrated graphics version (mercury white) which had a 25W. Something interesting to test would be the mercury white version against the macbook since they are more comparable in specs. The display is also most likely caused by it being touch screen. From what i understand, they use matt displays for their normal models. The biggest difference if you are making a decision is if you want Mac OS or Windows. Without the comparison with the non dedicated graphics card its hard to say which would perform better in cpu task.

I just got the razer blade 13, 120hz, 1080P, 16G, 512G 1650ti-max q for $1099 from Microsoft Store. The huge bottom bezel is definitely annoying, but overall, for $1099 , I'm more than happy to keep it. BTW, the coil whine seems more common on 10th cpu than I expected, i got it too on my xps 13 7390 2-in-1, which is the main reason I decide to replace it, even it is still pretty new with 10th cpu.
I liked the video, the truth is that I have always liked the comparison between Razer and Apple since it can be said that the "Blade" series are the Windows MacBooks, for me both models are very good. One question, do you think we will see an update to the Razer Blade Stealth in 2023 with new CPUs? I would like to see that.
I hope you add to the description of this video that you ran these tests on the Razer in Balanced mode, which runs the i7 at 15W. In order to get the full 25 watts, you need to turn on performance mode in the Razer Synapse application.
I have razer blade stealth and have used a mac for years. For a programmer and occasional mmorpg gamer like me, battery is better, heat management is better, design is cool but with mac ofc, it will always be sassy. I like the track pad of MacBook and gestures more compared to razer. it will always be a question of what will you do with it.
Why would it be a surprise to see an i5 28W CPU with 2.0ghz base clock do better on a benchmark than an i7 15W CPU with 1.5ghz base clock? That's the whole point of having 28W...
I like Mac OS but I’m a graphic designer and motion graphics designer and I’m not sure about 1800$ MacBook Pro performance I have no idea if it’s working fine with Adobe After Effects, can anyone help please.
I also do graphic design and video editing with some simple motion graphics. The 1800 pro works fine. It runs warm when rendering and also takes some time. If you don’t mind waiting for renders it works great. But for anything more the 16 inch is the way to go for best performance. I wanted something portable because im always traveling so the 13 inch works great as my main machine. I do work for a Pac-12 football team, so it does keep up for professional standards if you don’t mind waiting like me. I just wanted the best portability with Mac OS. I came from a 2011 15” Macbook Pro and this new one is far better. It depends on how much you can tolerate. If you’re a little patient it’s great. I can tell you that this 1800 Pro works better than my buddy’s 2018 Mac Mini with a 6-core i7 for rendering.
Mohammed ALSARRAJ I would DEFINITELY go with the MacBook Pro 16 inch!! Just got mine a week ago and the graphics edit is AMAZING also get some great apps for graphics design as well!
Id recommend you to get a refurbished 16 inch version from Apple for $2000. Comes just like brand new and it's a much better upgrade than the $1800 13 inch. Also comes with a 1 year warranty
from what I hear, adobe works terribly on mac, just because of the resources that adobe uses. Instead of it using the computer ram and CPU, from what I understamd it only uses the GPU
Which one is better for rendering ? I'm an architecture student at first I was thinking to buy a razer blade but now Idk ... which one should I prefer plssss helpppp btw I'm not gonna play video games just for the design stuff .
You guys are mind readers! Razer blade 13 4K model and MBP 13 are both in my bestbuy list, they are the best 13 inch laptops. This video is super helpful for me!
This is a nice HW comparison. But the elephant in the room is MacOS vs WIndows 10 and the fact the razer blade is purchased for gaming and the macbook is purchased for content producers, programmers, etc. Very different use-cases. Both are very good laptops imo.
Apple is greedy and doesn’t want to put at least a AMD Radeon 5300M in the 13 inch MacBook Pro (both 2 thunderbolt and 4 thunderbolt versions ). Hell even something like a 700$ laptop has at least a MX150.
Great Video, You have made my decision even harder... I am moving from a MacBook Pro 13" from 2014 and having just refreshed my Apple iMac with a new Windows PC setup I was convinced that the Razer would be the best option for productivity, video editing and just general day to day work. But you have possibly put a spanner in the works there. Will have to research more.
If you can't use these laptops unplugged on battery and get max performance then to me it's pointless no matter how much better the specs are even with dedicated GPU
I deal with engineering desktop Productivity issues. Screen real estate for multitasking, and audio response for processing music are important. (The audio is for estimating, not final copy) . And Nvidia graphics are a plus. Fan noise noted.
Why don't people that hate the touch bar turn on expanded control strip? It acts basically like a normal function row, I think people just like to complain...
I would love to see a comparison of the iPad Pro 2020 speed tests vs the $1,800 MacBook Pro. I think it would be close. There has been a comparison with the base MacBook Pro but I see nothing vs the $1800 model.
If Razer Blade Stealth were to make a studio version like how it’s done on the 15”, which graphics card would it have? My first guess is the Quadro T2000.
Well you got the top of the line Stealth 2020 and comparing it with a basic macbook pro which is not a fair comparison at all. Would’ve liked to see the i7 macbook pro top of the line compared with the stealth.
Very good comparison. The I5 beating the I7 is not really surprising. Intel leaves it with the manufacturer to supply the cpu with whatever wattage they want. Apple's philosophy is to run them as hard as possible, for example this Mac as a 28 watts chip and is supplied with as much as 60 watts and even a little bit more while running benchmarks.
the standard 2020 blade 15 model is 200 bucks cheaper, and while it has a smaller drive, it has a better gpu (slightly, 1660 ti instead of 1650) but a slighty better cpu and screen as well (120 hz vs. 144 hz). is the increased price for the stealth just for the extra portability? is it worth it compared to the 2020 base 15 model?
That's pretty much it yes. You're paying a premium for an ultra portable device capable of gaming. The better value is totally dependant on your needs. If you plan on gaming a decent chunk, then the 15 base model is definitely the way to go as the 1660ti yields about a 35% performance increase over the 1650ti.... which is a pretty big upgrade. You'll be playing most triple A games on high settings no problem at 1080p, whereas the 1650ti will be running games on medium to low settings. The best bang for your buck though in my honest opinion in the razer lineup however would be the the 2020 blade 15 with the rtx2060. More storage and a slight performance bump over the 1660ti for the price of the stealth. In terms of overall portability/performance, there's nothing quite like the stealth on the market as of yet... hence the hefty price tag.
fyi the razer rubber feet suck and the glue keeping them together to the stupid laptop stops working after a year. It's one of the many "hight quality control" features of razer
Guys, even tho the chin is ugly, 1650 TI isn’t unnecessary. It’s more like 4K is unnecessary. It’s a shame Apple didn’t put dedicated graphics into $1799 MacBook Pro
Awe man i was really thinking about getting the Stealth for Vegas pro on the fly but Jesus that chin... everything about it looks good but mannn... just wtf.
video editing has been excellent on the new 2020 MacBook Pro. It's much quicker than we expected. If there are beachballs, that may be a software issue that can be fixed with an update. check this video out: ruclips.net/video/A1qlcBKu9Bo/видео.html
It's time speakers are removed from laptops, I don't listen from my speakers and I haven't seen anyone using it, they either use earphones, headphones or external speakers. Instead of removing webcam, they can remove the speaker module.
A 4k display on a 13 inch laptop almost seems useless. 4k gaming isn't feasible with that GPU, and buying a Razer for video editing seems...odd. Not to mention how tiny the screen is. The Razer is, in its best form, a premium gaming ultrabook with a 120hz display. It shouldn't be compared to the MacBook Pro, as they serve different users entirely.
@@arturmavlyuchenko7647 The GPU emphasis over the cpu balances the specs more for gaming than video editing. It's also just outside the target market for Razer's products.
is the RB Stealth keyboard different than the Razer Blade 15? i hear they are actually different. with the latter being shallower but no store here for me to try
I am dying for a spiritual successor to the old titanium PowerBook 12 inch give me a dedicated graphics card even if it’s only 16 compute units and 2gb.
We can tap on windows with one and 2 finger out of the box unlike Macs where we press. It would be fair to install Intel's clear Linux on razer and test the CPU scores.

the standard 2020 blade 15 model is 200 bucks cheaper, and while it has a smaller drive, it has a better gpu (slightly, 1660 ti instead of 1650) but a slighty better cpu and screen as well (120 hz vs. 144 hz). is the increased price for the stealth just for the extra portability? is it worth it compared to the 2020 base 15 model?
That bottom bezel tho... ❌
why would you need a fucking 1650ti in a utlrabook
photoshop, daws, virtual machines, surfing web, office all of those don't use gpu
Guys, even tho the chin is ugly, 1650 TI isn’t unnecessary. It’s more like 4K is unnecessary. It’s a shame Apple didn’t put dedicated graphics into $1799 MacBook Pro
@@krzysztofgrondal7823 why wouldnt you want it. One reason
@Rodrigo110 worse build quality?
Awe man i was really thinking about getting the Stealth for Vegas pro on the fly but Jesus that chin... everything about it looks good but mannn... just wtf.
That's the absolute only reason keeping me from buying that...what the heck is wrong we have 2020 not 2013 jeez
The Macbook has a chin😂
Which one can run Flight Simulator 2020?
I would sacrifice the Touch Bar on the 13 inch for a Dedicated Graphics Card
Me too
my mbp is coming tomorrow ♥️
video editing has been excellent on the new 2020 MacBook Pro. It's much quicker than we expected. If there are beachballs, that may be a software issue that can be fixed with an update.
check this video out: ruclips.net/video/A1qlcBKu9Bo/видео.html
that bottom bezel is a joke wtf was razr thinking
april fools!
It's time speakers are removed from laptops, I don't listen from my speakers and I haven't seen anyone using it, they either use earphones, headphones or external speakers.
Instead of removing webcam, they can remove the speaker module.
I don’t really get why you compared the touch screen Razer against the MacBook. Only because there is a Razer model that isn’t touch screen as aell
I really do not understand why small windows laptops haven't adopt 2k resolution or something around that. Who needs 4k in 13' laptop, really?
Unless you’re a GA-MER, get the MacBook.
if you are a gamer get a desktop for gaming and productivity and a macbook for lazy everything else
Igor Andreychikov MacBook Pros are really good for photo and video editing though. The keyboard is also nice for programming.
@@aigor9668 Desktop gamers have moved to Laptops for a long time.
15:19 Me hearing this on a 10$ speaker
Visible confusion
How good is mackbook for graphic designers in comparison to Razer..
omg this was literally my question thx
I slept for 3 hrs. Nice content
I7 means nothing, it could be a 8core with a turbo up to 5.2 GHz or it could be a i7 950 with 4 cores at 3Ghz
If you get the normal HD razer stealth instead of the 4k display model, It will have even better performance, and a way longer battery life.
That bezel is huge. Keep trying to find a reason to not keep my 16in MacBook Pro. Everything i see that's even close to quality and feel.
xps 17
Not to keep? Dude it got released less than a year ago and looking to replace it already? I'm not judging. You do you
@@zemiguel2550 Yea bro, apple fans keep talking about the longevity of apple products but they always replace them after 1 year anyway
I have both the stealth and mbp16..I have not touched my macbook...
Matt Wils they’re many youtubers with even non-Retina or first Retina 2012 MacBook Pros
It’s worth to chose MacBook Pro 13 8GB or update RAM to 16GB?
Upgrade yoursel... oops its apple sorry
one question, how was the temperature of the Razer under heavy loads?
Wheb I tried it out in store it didint get very warm just some what warm. But then again its in store.
Me: Opens RAZOR
RAZOR: Like my chin? See my chin? Do you see that, I have this chin.
Me: "Nope" Closes RAZOR - Return.
What is the macbook ‘s wallpapper?
Hiiii, please can you read my comment 🥺🥺 I would like to know which one you recommend if I’m going to study architecture soon!!
If you are going to study architecture, I would probably say go for the Macbook.
Is the best razer blade stealth 1650 ti the 1080P 120hz one ?
I think so! For gaming for sure
Max Tech ok then.
Why is it odd to buy Razer for video editing?
@@arturmavlyuchenko7647 The GPU emphasis over the cpu balances the specs more for gaming than video editing. It's also just outside the target market for Razer's products.
Nathanael uhhhhhhhh ok
Can you also plz test other games like Fortnite and apex legends. Otherwise, nice vid 👍
Most prolly on 1080p with max settings smooth 90-100+ fps
Hey max can you find a way to make the 2020 MacBook Air webcam great.
yes, make the lid thicker. But then it’s not a MacBook
Man, Dell finally caught on but that stupid bottom bezel windows vendors keep having is so stupid. Just extend the screen and make it 16:10 or 3:2
No 120hz non 16:9 panels
Excellent video
Resolution macbook pro??? Also 4k? What is it?
Do versus between Mac mini + eGPU (5700 xt) and MacBook Pro 5500m (8gb) please
Which would be the best one for music production
Eternal760 apple
Windows is better than macos period so razer
Max, please do benchmarks unplugged and video editing comparison
is the RB Stealth keyboard different than the Razer Blade 15? i hear they are actually different. with the latter being shallower but no store here for me to try
I am dying for a spiritual successor to the old titanium PowerBook 12 inch give me a dedicated graphics card even if it’s only 16 compute units and 2gb.
Macbook pro 13 definitely has more bass and sounds a lot better!
I know 16:9 is standard for gaming but 16:10 would have been nice because the bottom bezel is a giant black bar anyway
We can tap on windows with one and 2 finger out of the box unlike Macs where we press. It would be fair to install Intel's clear Linux on razer and test the CPU scores.
Why is every manufacturer hating on the SD card slot so hard? Apple please add it to the 2020 16" Pro
Yeah it’s a bummer, but Apple will push USB-C on Macs.
simple, one for work and school, the other for work, gaming, and school
