      @Atlas-Rising 5 лет назад +11

      In other words, Steves biggest downfall has always been his Pride. He let his ego control him for years and when Civil war happened he felt that the world didn't know what it needed and that he knew what it needed more.
      Tony who is normally even more prideful than others immediately realized the avengers were "Too dangerous" to work on their own without a leash, examples? Ultron, Sokovia, The winter soldier incident (Civil War)
      Steve was too? Defensive? Aggressive? Headstrong? hard headed? Stubborn? His actions in Civil War are one of the reasons he couldn't lift Mjolnir. You think you're right. And that makes you dangerous. - Spiderman

      AGREED. The measure of a true hero is not how pretty his face is or how strong his physique is.....when the danger came (even if it was just a dummy grenade), Steve was the ONLY one to run into that danger to protect his squadron and Agent Carter. The others fled. He literally hugged the grenade and was willing to give his life to protect them. That is the mark of a true hero. It had nothing to do with the handsome looks and the muscles he got with the serum. He was a hero before they made him pretty. That is what I have always respected about Steve....and why he is my favorite Avenger.

    • @kaedenle
      @kaedenle 5 лет назад +11

      @@wildmantis6614 I think there's a different side to that.
      Cap is about human conviction related to heroism to where he inspires with his shows of willpower and resolve.
      Superman does the same in inspiring others except, instead of the conviction element, it's about a Godly idol helping ordinary people (Man of Steel kinda took it one step further in the bleak direction. I personally didnt agree it should be taken that far though, literally connecting him to Jesus).
      There's merit to both and struggles associated with both. With Cap it's about "how will I do this" (in how will he solve the problem at hand). For Supes it's more of a moralistic question of "why do I do this" (and it's common for writers to explore "what if Supes goes off the deep end, and the consequences of such" with stories such as Injustice and a bit in Dark Knight Metal)

    This was the reason why Capt. America can carry Thor's hammer., the Mjolnir. You can only carry Mjolnir if you are worthy enough, when your ready to give everything you've got to save your people even if there's nothing left from you, even if it kills you.

    "The definitive scene in 'Captain America: The First Avenger' isn't Steve Rogers getting super soldier serum injected into his body -- it's him pre-transformation, jumping onto a grenade to save his comrades without a second thought, unaware that it's a dud. This kind of self-sacrifice comes naturally to Cap.
    It takes a Loki-led Chitauri invasion of New York City for Iron Man to learn the same lesson of self-sacrifice."

    • @MrHerecomesjohnny
      @MrHerecomesjohnny 5 лет назад

      Tony stark learned what self sacrifice was when the doctor in the cave sacrificed himself just so that he would live. He spent the whole of Iron Man 2 with blood poisoning just to keep wielding the suit.

    I find it interesting that characters like Superman are considered heroic and perfect because he saves the world and stuff but like nothing else. Just look at Injustice, Red Son, the golden age comics, that episode of Batman TBATB, and multiple other appearances and you can see Superman's dark side in plus he never earned his powers, he was born with them. Steve was a brave and nice guy who would throw himself in front of a bullet to save even the worse of people which made him a worthy person.
