SCHOOL GIRLS are jumping up and down and squealing nearby. BARRY I wonder where those guys have just been? ADAM I don’t know. BARRY Their day’s not planned. He just stopped PoGo videos after the views went down which is a shame because I enjoyed his content on PoGo and don't really watch most of his other stuff. I actually found his Pokemon Go stuff before Nick's or anyone else's. I have never watched Lachlan so no idea if he plays still.
You're an incredible filmmaker. You capture emotions so perfectly, I've got happy tears in my eyes. This brought me back to running for a lapras (i had no shame running haha), the madness that exploded when legenedaries came out, being staked out for hours with hundreds of people at the nearby quad-lure. I am impatiently waiting for that excitement again one day :)
Yep. It took me pretty much exactly 2 years to hit level 40. When I reached level 40, the friend list was brand-new. Now, I'm level 40 three times over (I currently have more than 74 million XP.).
Me and my friends saw a wild Dragonite on the radar (this is when the radar was pretty much useless back then, it did not even show the steps) and we spent a long time looking for it and as we were about to give up and went to the bus stop to go home, the Dragonite spawned and I did not have any Great or Ultra Balls anymore, just simple Pokeballs, I sweated like crazy as my friends already caught it and finally managed to catch it in a Pokeball without using any Berries in the end :P
I'll admit I do miss the AR catches when you include the background to them like the dragonite in the road catch. I tried to create my own like that and they didn't turn out as good
Been religiously watching since day 1, it’s amazing how I remember every last one of these videos, from the nidoqueen on the volcano to the first Go Fest. I hope we can someday recapture the magic of this game’s first year.

I remember when everybody was out in the streets playing Pokémon go. I’m not front he safest city lol but people were out into he streets walking around catching Pokémon. Such a good time to be playing Pokémon. Also remember somebody screaming out Aerodactyl and everybody running to that spot to catch it. Miss those days
Man I miss when there was lots of people who played the game and not judge, now everyone at my school says I'm "the pokemon go kid" yeah I guess I am I've been playing since 2016 as many who play till this day, but now people give the game crap when I know they played it when it was a trend.

I remember when that one scanner app was popular. I was at Santa Monica beach, and a Lapras spawned, and I remember a horde of people sprinting to go get it... I miss that Lapras. When I picked up the game after a year of not playing, a lot of Pokémon were just randomly missing from my account

Im feeling so nostalgic, remember all these clips and videos when they came out, dang I miss traveling and playing with my friends...to answer your question - for me rarest spawns from year 1: wild Lapras at my apartment back in Chicago in the middle of the night, 1923 CP still have it, in November got a Chansey nest near me so grinded the candy there for a few weeks, wild Feraligatr in April biking along the beach in South Carolina, and then finally my 100% Articuno from first days of raids from Go Fest. I still have all the Articuno and Lugia from that day, plus the sorry one haha. Even though the event didnt go as planned, the memories will last a lifetime *** also DEF do the sequel to year 1 rarest spawns from year 2

This video made me realise exciting stuff just doesn't spawn in the wild anymore. Dragonite used to spawn infrequently and was always nice to see people getting excited for it. Never seen a fully evolved Feraligatr, Meganium or any Gen 2+ starters spawn though!
Great vid, I love the nostalgia...My rarest from year 1 was July 27 of 2016 when a wild Gyarados popped on campus about 1/4 from my office. I think I was like level 10 or something at that point...ran out of the building, across the parking lot, and there were already about a dozen people congregating near a lamp post where it spawned along the sidewalk. Took a whole bunch of red balls and raspberries but finally caught it, double dragon moveset, and 15/7/14 IVs.

I have a funny feeling... that Uncle Rick is really... naaaaaah! LOL, anyway, I actually watch these older videos all the time. They always take me back. One of my greatest catches from 2016 was my 98 wild Snorlax. It was beautiful. I had been sick around Christmas time and couldn't play. After a few days I got up enough strength to go out again and that's when I saw it. A wild Snorlax at a Pokestop. I and other people got there and it despawned for some of them but luckily I caught it. Checked the IVs and lost my mind. Best Christmas gift ever, Nick.
Back in 2016, a month after release when the tracker was trash, I woke up early one morning to use the bathroom. I decided to open the game when to my surprise, I saw a Charmeleon’s silhouette in the nearby list. I went outside in PJs despite it being rainy and I walked/sprinted around my neighborhood as the sun was rising using the method you had to use back then of walking in one direction until the Pokémon you wanted to find disappeared from your tracker so then you had to walk back the other way until it disappeared. I ended up finally finding my little red boi a few blocks down the street from my house. I caught him and have had him in my storage ever since. At the time it kinda reminded of the show when Ash found his Charmander out in the rain waiting for his trainer!
this is a crazy awesome video dude. GO played on our nostalgia and boy, did it hit me good right in the feels when it came out. but watching these videos, even though they're not mine, gives me nostalgia just from the beginning of GO, now over 4 years ago...which is kinda long actually. PokeMania as a kid was crazy, but the upgraded GO-mania in 2016, with everyone connected and feeling good together, was such a great time. obviously there were issues with the game and it had its bad aspects in society, but the fact that an audience can feel nostalgia just by watching clips of people running for Pokemon really speaks to how great this game is/was. I wasn't there, but the same thing was happening right everywhere around the world. funny enough, my first big boi spawn was a Nidoqueen in Hawaii. not on a volcano and not on a trip (because I live here), but it was pretty sick nonetheless lol. thanks for another trip down memory lane my dude.
I miss these days back when Pogo was at its absolute heights. I still remeber visiting a bulbasaur nest while in London a few weeks after release and the amount of people playing was crazy.
Definitely liked this one Nick. I do remember those vids, Nidoqueen, Farfetch'd, and even the "Dragonite that got away". Would love to see your 2nd year Pokemon highlights. For me, I don't have a rarest first year Pokemon per se, however, I do have a Hitmonchan with 100% IVs that actually has a double legacy moveset caught back on 7/21/2016. I still remember where I caught him since he was a fairly rare sighting and I ran around trying to find it with the old footprint radar system. Such fond memories.
Pokémon Go was my first Pokémon game, I wound up getting one of the Ranger games, plus Ultra Moon, LG Eevee, and Shield because of Go. But prior to LG Eevee, I had no clue how common and trashy murkrow was when Gen 2 first launched. I remember bragging to people that I managed to catch a murkrow 😂

Super nice video overall :) I've still got a Dragonite from 2016/08/13, but I can't remember if I evolved it, or if it was a wild spawn :/ The game improved a lot, but I sometimes miss the old times. Especially now in a time you can't really go out much.

Nice memory lane, we used to be so crazy and will run and even take taxi for rare spawns. And sometimes arriving to had them despawn. But now, the excitement is not like before anymore. You don't feel anything anymore seeing a snorlax spawn.

The things I did to catch rare pokemon back at the beginning. Before raids and remote passes, Tms haha, rare candies! Trainer battles. The game was so simple at the begining and man was it fun!
July 22, 2016. My sons and I were travelling through Indianapolis and the city was crazy with Pokemon Go players. They actually had signs up all over Indy saying be careful while playing PoGo and not get run over. My sons had just got me into the game. I remember a lot of Drowzee spawning all over but the memorable catch by far was a wild Vaporeon that spawned. Such fun!

7/7/2016 I was a home aide for an elderly woman. In the middle of a Judge Judy episode a wild dragonite spawned in her backyard. I was so low level & only had pokeballs. After almost all of my pokeballs ran out I caught them & named them Judge Judy.

He just stopped PoGo videos after the views went down which is a shame because I enjoyed his content on PoGo and don't really watch most of his other stuff. I actually found his Pokemon Go stuff before Nick's or anyone else's. I have never watched Lachlan so no idea if he plays still.

You're an incredible filmmaker. You capture emotions so perfectly, I've got happy tears in my eyes. This brought me back to running for a lapras (i had no shame running haha), the madness that exploded when legenedaries came out, being staked out for hours with hundreds of people at the nearby quad-lure. I am impatiently waiting for that excitement again one day :)

Yep. It took me pretty much exactly 2 years to hit level 40. When I reached level 40, the friend list was brand-new. Now, I'm level 40 three times over (I currently have more than 74 million XP.).
Me and my friends saw a wild Dragonite on the radar (this is when the radar was pretty much useless back then, it did not even show the steps) and we spent a long time looking for it and as we were about to give up and went to the bus stop to go home, the Dragonite spawned and I did not have any Great or Ultra Balls anymore, just simple Pokeballs, I sweated like crazy as my friends already caught it and finally managed to catch it in a Pokeball without using any Berries in the end :P

I remember when everybody was out in the streets playing Pokémon go. I’m not front he safest city lol but people were out into he streets walking around catching Pokémon. Such a good time to be playing Pokémon. Also remember somebody screaming out Aerodactyl and everybody running to that spot to catch it. Miss those days
Man I miss when there was lots of people who played the game and not judge, now everyone at my school says I'm "the pokemon go kid" yeah I guess I am I've been playing since 2016 as many who play till this day, but now people give the game crap when I know they played it when it was a trend.

I remember when that one scanner app was popular. I was at Santa Monica beach, and a Lapras spawned, and I remember a horde of people sprinting to go get it... I miss that Lapras. When I picked up the game after a year of not playing, a lot of Pokémon were just randomly missing from my account

for me rarest spawns from year 1: wild Lapras at my apartment back in Chicago in the middle of the night, 1923 CP still have it, in November got a Chansey nest near me so grinded the candy there for a few weeks, wild Feraligatr in April biking along the beach in South Carolina, and then finally my 100% Articuno from first days of raids from Go Fest. I still have all the Articuno and Lugia from that day, plus the sorry one haha. Even though the event didnt go as planned, the memories will last a lifetime

This video made me realise exciting stuff just doesn't spawn in the wild anymore. Dragonite used to spawn infrequently and was always nice to see people getting excited for it. Never seen a fully evolved Feraligatr, Meganium or any Gen 2+ starters spawn though!
Great vid, I love the nostalgia...My rarest from year 1 was July 27 of 2016 when a wild Gyarados popped on campus about 1/4 from my office. I think I was like level 10 or something at that point...ran out of the building, across the parking lot, and there were already about a dozen people congregating near a lamp post where it spawned along the sidewalk. Took a whole bunch of red balls and raspberries but finally caught it, double dragon moveset, and 15/7/14 IVs.

LOL, anyway, I actually watch these older videos all the time. They always take me back. One of my greatest catches from 2016 was my 98 wild Snorlax. It was beautiful. I had been sick around Christmas time and couldn't play. After a few days I got up enough strength to go out again and that's when I saw it. A wild Snorlax at a Pokestop. I and other people got there and it despawned for some of them but luckily I caught it. Checked the IVs and lost my mind. Best Christmas gift ever, Nick.
Back in 2016, a month after release when the tracker was trash, I woke up early one morning to use the bathroom. I decided to open the game when to my surprise, I saw a Charmeleon’s silhouette in the nearby list. I went outside in PJs despite it being rainy and I walked/sprinted around my neighborhood as the sun was rising using the method you had to use back then of walking in one direction until the Pokémon you wanted to find disappeared from your tracker so then you had to walk back the other way until it disappeared. I ended up finally finding my little red boi a few blocks down the street from my house. I caught him and have had him in my storage ever since. At the time it kinda reminded of the show when Ash found his Charmander out in the rain waiting for his trainer!

this is a crazy awesome video dude. GO played on our nostalgia and boy, did it hit me good right in the feels when it came out. but watching these videos, even though they're not mine, gives me nostalgia just from the beginning of GO, now over 4 years ago...which is kinda long actually. PokeMania as a kid was crazy, but the upgraded GO-mania in 2016, with everyone connected and feeling good together, was such a great time. obviously there were issues with the game and it had its bad aspects in society, but the fact that an audience can feel nostalgia just by watching clips of people running for Pokemon really speaks to how great this game is/was. I wasn't there, but the same thing was happening right everywhere around the world. funny enough, my first big boi spawn was a Nidoqueen in Hawaii. not on a volcano and not on a trip (because I live here), but it was pretty sick nonetheless lol. thanks for another trip down memory lane my dude.
I miss these days back when Pogo was at its absolute heights. I still remeber visiting a bulbasaur nest while in London a few weeks after release and the amount of people playing was crazy.
Definitely liked this one Nick. I do remember those vids, Nidoqueen, Farfetch'd, and even the "Dragonite that got away". Would love to see your 2nd year Pokemon highlights.
For me, I don't have a rarest first year Pokemon per se, however, I do have a Hitmonchan with 100% IVs that actually has a double legacy moveset caught back on 7/21/2016. I still remember where I caught him since he was a fairly rare sighting and I ran around trying to find it with the old footprint radar system. Such fond memories.
Pokémon Go was my first Pokémon game, I wound up getting one of the Ranger games, plus Ultra Moon, LG Eevee, and Shield because of Go. But prior to LG Eevee, I had no clue how common and trashy murkrow was when Gen 2 first launched. I remember bragging to people that I managed to catch a murkrow 😂

Great memories, Nick! I remember watching all of these when they first came out. LOVED the editing on the Australia one. Pretty sure you have a really nicely edited one in Japan too. Funny to see how people got excited about some of these pokémon that are so commonplace now!

You for sure should make another one soon when you make it to 800 or 900 or 1000 episodes. Or even when you hit a million subscribers. Nice memory lane, we used to be so crazy and will run and even take taxi for rare spawns. And sometimes arriving to had them despawn. But now, the excitement is not like before anymore. You don't feel anything anymore seeing a snorlax spawn.

The things I did to catch rare pokemon back at the beginning. Before raids and remote passes, Tms haha, rare candies! Trainer battles. The game was so simple at the begining and man was it fun!

July 22, 2016. My sons and I were travelling through Indianapolis and the city was crazy with Pokemon Go players. They actually had signs up all over Indy saying be careful while playing PoGo and not get run over. My sons had just got me into the game. I remember a lot of Drowzee spawning all over but the memorable catch by far was a wild Vaporeon that spawned. Such fun!
