I was at the concert where this was filmed and it doesn't really show it clearly in the video, but the three thrones actually rose up out of the stage with Babymetal seated on them to open the show. Momoko had been officially announced as Momometal at the end of the previous night, so this was her introduction as a full member of Babymetal.
Every one of these big Babymetal headline shows in Japan is a one off event that is never performed again. The PIA Arena show was done over two nights in April 2023 and it will never be performed again. I feel very lucky that I was able to be there to see it in person.
Metal Kingdom is one of my favourite Babymetal songs because Su's voice is simply haunting in this one. Her vocals just soar over the rest of the instruments.
We who live in the METAL KINGDOM, gathered under Her Majesty Queen SU and Princess MOA&MOMO, have pledged to stand together to win our freedom!
We will enjoy music more freely and without being restricted by genres!

Nice reaction. Here we have the regal return of Babymetal to their kingdom. The stage in front of a live audience. They have a few songs where it's about joining them on their Road of Resistance. But this song seems more about Babymetal joining you and supporting you as you go out on your own Road of Resistance. Very cool. IMO they aslo felt someway about being locked up for so long because of covid. They did their most ambitious tour. 93 shows worldwide. They didn't miss a single show. Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music. Now cue the new party song Oh Yeah! RATATATA

I'm super fan of the final verse with Su-metal's vocals over the chants and the drums accents. It gives me full body goosebumps.
I can't imagine being Momometal, on her very first day on her new job, opening the show like this.
Unfortunately I wasn't at that show. I hesitated and didn't went. I still regret it.

Really glad you chose this version of Metal Kingdom. Personally I feel this one has soooo much more power than the mv. And this stage set-up. Who creates three massive-albeit- Game of Thrones style thrones for ONE performance (I am guessing on the one here)? Great job on this one and again super selection on the version to play. No it is just their Thrones set and now they reveal why there were three thrones constructed while the original production only used one Throne. This is a declaration: we share one stage and one position. They were working really hard to make it clear to Momoko that shevisbone of them. As she admitted herself, she is shy and obviously felt a border between herself and thecrest of Babymetal. In a way it is understandable. She is 5 years younger than Su and three years younger than Moa (Her direct superior in Dancing) but she obviously brcomes more and more comfortable (RaTaTaTa). For her it is really important zhat she contributes something to Babymetal and she learned by the example of Kevin that hervgrowls can easily be this feature. Another reason for their collaboration with Electric Callboys.
I think Momo is contributing a lot. And I have to say the joy in seemingly every performance since her official induction is over the moon. It is so wonderful seeing all the ladies having so much fun!
Not the most sophisticated song structur-wise, but very fitting for the purpose of being the opener of their concept album "The Other One".

This is why BabyMetal is unmatchable with any other Japanese artists, they're top notch worldwide. Many others are finding Game Of Thrones resemblance on this stage setup, it just looks insane. The girls are carrying some kind of trident similar to the Spear Of Destiny or Lance Of Longinus from Evangelion anime series, if you know MoaMetal you know you gotta be careful with her. 🔱

The live premiere of this song was held in January 2023 at Makuhari Messe, they held two big live shows returning to the stage after almost two years and by far they met up my expectations with that epic live performance.
In that version SuMetal and MoaMetal were the only ones on stage because MomoMetal wasn't announced as an official member yet.
There's also a dance choreo version performed first outside of Japan during this recent World Tour and some fans witnessed this even more gorgeous performance, later they did it in their own country at an exclusive show only for fans.
They were rocking the Europe & UK Tour last months but so far this song wasn't part of the setlist, we'll see this year, still fans were enjoying a lot of new songs and some other hits they brought back for this World Tour.
The official MV is a live proshot version at Makuhari Messe but with studio album sound, we already got a live sound version with the WOWOW broadcast and the released DVD/BD version of BM Begins The Other One live at PIA Arena MM 2023, now with the three girls together on stage which is the version you just saw. Also every show since this one in April 2023 was with the Western Kami Band.
We got so many big news and announcements back then for these live shows in April 1st (Fox Day) at PIA ARENA MM Yokohama, if you remember MomoMetal was the one blessed by the Fox God as a new official member. Also they performed with a new BM mirror unit coming from another world of this metalverse, they got new songs exclusive for them and recently they posted more shows for next month.

I think therevis another misunderstanding behind it in the show itsrlf theay are not necessarily see Babymetsl as only the three girls but their complete staff. Abd in fact Su is one of them. Aftervshe graduated Koba took Su out of the idol context and let her qualify as a Stage hand and he took care that she ran through a lot of the roles that stage hands can become. It helped her immensly. If She talks about their shows and the immensly qualified people she automatically in cludes the lighting, and all other branches that they have and acvording to the Kami Band West their staff is exceptional. She knows precissely which branches are behind their shows. Especially their big shows have huge and highly qualified staff behind in their technical fields to make these huge shows run. And it was quite natural for them that Yui and Moa wanted to learn what their older sister had learned ( the oneesan system. It is not bound by blood but also by association) And they needed hervto protect her sisters backstage, not that someone mistook one of her sisters as a groupie or fresh meat. That was probably also an important feature for Koba when he build the Kami Band. It was important for him that they would come to their help if the girls called them. But this meant also tension when the girls grew up. While the Kami Band West was significantly younger and had no problem to see Su as their real boss.
The languages are a problem by itself many asian languages are more or less closely rekated to each other, as are most european languages but zhey have nearly no connection to asian languages, which means sometimes huge problems in even simple translations. Even the basic concepts that are behind it can have totally different meanings. This was also a problem why Babymetal got the kitsune symbol. The girls totally lacked the badic knowledge about the theoretical knowledge to understsnd something like a Devil. And since the girls were not only his performers but the archetype of thevtsrgetcaudience that he wanted to reach , he needed a different context and the kitsune simply fit..
