- The biggest Con we observed in the electronic market(smartphone+ watches+ Bluetooth Tws) was the huge price fluctuations.
I mean the person who is buying anything at the launching price will definitely gets disappointed after 3-4 months by looking at the sudden price drop. I bought Amazfit watch at 10k and exactly after 1 year it was 5.5k and it was really very disappointing to see such a huge drop.
- Secondly as Pratik said that moto need to focus on camera and software. I Highly Agree with you words man. I am using Moto G series and I felt utterly disappointed on camera department. If we talk about other aspects like software, display, design, battery then it's 9/10.
In camera Moto hardly stands anywhere.
- Another Big headache was the accesories of the newly popular brands like Moto, lava, infinix, Realme, xiaomi. Market is already full of accessories of the older smartphone brands (Samsung,apple, vivo, oppo). Maybe in the coming year the accessories will be available easily in the market.

I do not understand your hate for Google, I have been using Google devices since pixel 4a, then 6a now 7a. Pixel phones are not over promising anything rather they are delivering on the promises they have made. No security issue, minimal to no glitches, timely software update, God tier cameras, God tier haptics, great size and in hand feel and good day to day performance. It would be really interesting to know how much of the population actually cares about top notch performance, except for hardcore gamers. And again Google never said Pixel is a good gaming phone.
Hear me out, after using the pixel 6a, I suggested, and quite frankly forced even, to buy 5 of my friends to buy a pixel instead of nothing, vivo and Samsung. All of them doubted but eventually got the phone and now they thank me for forcing them to buy a pixel. Pixel is an experience, more than a phone and way more than a spec list. Get a pixel, even if you're in doubt. You'll love it, if you don't have unrealistic expectations from it.
And yes, the introductory pricing of Google in India sucks. But come on, pixel 7 for 35-36k? 7a for 30-33k? 7pro for 52-55k? And heck 8 for 60k?? You can't beat these! (Coming from a user who have extensively used Galaxy S 21 FE for months)

I know google devices sucks in terms for hardware, but pixel 8 series has promising hardware (except average battery and cpu not great but does the job), has great camera and software, video boost is amazing, pixel 7a won mkbhd's blind camera test (overall camera) and 8 pro won portrait mode, 8 won mvp of the year, but every year he place the google at last tier don't know why.
Apple has been complaints of 15 series well easily back class can be broken by thumb finger and people saying has problem of overheating issue(not sure).
And more has no blotware at all compare to samsung and others andriod devices.

In MKBHD blind camera test Pixel 7a Won in Standard. Pixel 8 pro won in Portrait and Pixel 8 pro came 2nd in low light photos and these guys are says it is not good 😅

literally almost every blind test conducted proved that google pixel's photos are the most prefered by people without showing them the device to prevent bias but the only issue i agree with is the processor since it is based on same samsung's exynos chip hence explains the thermal problems and not stable performance.

Google at least deserves did the job tire, me and my friend we both have been using pixel 7 and 7 pro and there hasn't been any issue(s) so far and the camera experience is just outstanding, whenever I post pictures everyone just asks one question "Which phone camera is it? It's too good" and performance? hasn't overheated and no network issues so far (9 months) :)

It should deserve more than did the job. These phones get better day by day, in terms of battery life, heating and camera issues. And my friends with the iPhone 15 asked me to edit the photos for their dp, or old photos etc etc. So, it did a good job
i have new 8 pro and the magic this phone can do with photos is no other phone can do. never had a single heating problem and its AI features are very useful in practicality.

Totally agree. Same experience with my 7 pro. No network/heating issues. In fact adaptive connectivity does an amazing job of selecting lte/5g. Remains on lte around my house when dad's OnePlus 11 goes to 5g. My phone gives like 100mbps on lte while OnePlus 11 gives around 10mbps on 5g. Both are using jio.
Iqoo deserves goat tier , with the launch of iqoo 12 , which everyone didn't expect to come at that price range and funtouch is improved a lot and still improving and I am using iqoo neo 7 pro and it is really good .

@@roadkillranger4215 I'm basically a heavy user, i play games, edit videos, take online classes of long sessions and watch some webseries too. I have to say the thermals are just great. If we talk about summer, it performs well in the summer season too. You can feel warmth but it doesn't overheat

The thing you said about the pixel that you buy phone for what the phone currently offers. I disagree because people buy phones considering how long the manufacturer is going to provide software update despite knowing manufacturers may or may not be able to keep their promise.
Software updates bring new software features for them as well.

Google Pixel should be in the very solid tier coz it has improved a lot this year. Be it the top notch flagship display or updates or software experience. Camera will get improved after updates eventually. Heating issues is something they have to work on but Pixel 8 is around 59k with bank discounts is a really good deal. It should be in very solid tier.

Pixel 7a has won this year's blind camera test by MKBHD beating all of this year's flagships including Google's own flagships.
Pixel 8 won the segment for portrait photos in that same test.
That tells you a lot about what people like and how good the camera system of pixels are.
Get a Pixel, eyes closed. Because, in India at least, most people will make a jump from Realme Oppo Vivo Xiaomi and cheaper Samsungs to Pixel (most probably the 'a' lineup), that will make a big change to your usage of a phone. Pixel will give you an experience that you've never had. And trust me, you're gonna love it. (And again, don't have unrealistic expectations, because it doesn't promise to do those things.)
I've been using 6a for a year now, and the experience is nothing short of disappointing.

The only problem with Pixel is that it does not have auto-call recording without announcement. Where as Xiaomi, Samsung, etc, have that feature.

I've personally used Samsung M series phones before in 2020-2022, and it was solid back then. Better value for money than any other brand and most reliable. It lacked some OneUI features but still pretty solid.
But this year they were disappointing, not much innovation and no addition of better features.
Hopefully they do well next year!

Yeah, and updates was a point for the Samsung flagships. Its camera is still great, MKBHD's blind camera test being the proof where Pixel 7a and 8 pro won two categories. I agree with Indian pricing but the frequent discounts make the launch price kind of moot.

You mention 7 years of update, great. Tell me, what's the point of a specsheet if the hardware itself gives out? There's a reason why nobody offers 7 years of update. I list a few out just for the sake of it
1 - It costs money to maintain updates of devices. So it will add with the phones MRP.
2 - A ridiculous update period of 7 years or 10 years make very little sense when the other aspects of the phone will give out way before that. For example, Battery, Screen.
3 - To sustain updates for 7 years, the chipset needs to be powerful enough. A phone doesn't run on software alone. Last I checked we do need capable hardware to support the amazing things the software enables it to do.
Now, coming to google - They sell a phone which comes with a chipset that's barely able to hold its own around that 50k price tag. It frequently stops performing the "AI tasks" when using it on gallery app (as per user reviews on flipkart, reddit and even some RUclipsrs) not to mention the heating issue. On top of that, they decided to use a gimmick like "7 years of update" to rope in more people. And people keep praising it without ever considering, if a phone gets overheated and lags (to the point of stopping apps ) when it was released and fresh, how will it hold up 7 years from now?
The judgement of a product : price is done with MRP. Not what the offer price is. It's literally called the offer price. Signifying some additional constraints before someone can avail that price.

The Samsung budget gives a good user experience. So please do a long term review and think about it.
Even though Pixels are overpriced in Indian currency, they are highly rated in US. MKBHD rated 2023s MVP of the year to Pixel 8. Before dumb people start saying hoo haas about the Tensor chip, always know that Google is a software and camera oriented phone which doesnt focus on gaming. If all want to btch about gaming get a Asus Rog or Poco phone to satisfy your gaming needs. Pixel 8 doesnt heat like 6 or 7 used to. I know 60k still including offers is high pricing for Pixel 8 but 7 years of OS updates and Googles best in class stock Android experience? Hell yeah. Ive been using 8 for 1month now. How can Samsung go in goat, their price to performance ratio is the worst, they give water drop notched phone even in 30000 category, they give plastic backs and frames and call it gladtic, the don't give charger even in budget, their A15 and A25 cost 30000 and still have 90hz refresh rate, their amoled screens are the reason behind green line issues.

There's also a bigger concern on iqoo 12 is the Li-po battery. This should be a big NO NO for the smartphones on the 2023-24. Li-ion are better batteries IMO

the xiaomi 13 ultra, Xperia 1 V and the find x6 pro use li-po as well, what about them? I'm using an S22U and the battery degraded just as fast if not faster than the Galaxy M31 I used before. So both the battery techs don't matter as much as the heat generated due to the phone usage or the surroundings/charging.

Samsung M & F series phones this year were good too. They've started shipping full One UI on these phones too, and in their respective price bands, they definitely give the likes of Realme and Moto some good competition. Even your own videos have a mention of the fact that these budget phones have got features like Secure Folder and Knox security and stuff.

Google should atleast be in the very solid tier. The price hikes are there but they have also delievered some great new features like a really better display, a lot of AI Features , seven years of software updates and much more. Google is justifying the price hike. I have used the Pixel and it is not about the hardware, its about the experience. And yeah the introductory prices are yhere bit after some months they also get reduced by ₹5k-10k

Samsung Flagship and Apple in Goat tier doesnt bode well with me. They're flagships, and youre paying lakhs for them. It is expected of them to be the best. They havent innovated much, just refining and increasing prices. So calling them GOAT... i dont like it. Lava, Oneplus and Moto were the true goats of this year imo
If you had noticed, this year Samsung has given complete one UI experiance in M/F 3/5 series, with secure folder, Samsung wallet including 4/5 years of updates!

Typing this from Samsung M53, and while I agree all the features are not available but I do have access to features like Bixby vision, selecting patterns from a photo, object eraser, and also SECURE FOLDER. So I don't concur with you giving the rating of just does the job for budget phone categories. In budget phones also, samsung has 2 tiers 17k+ and below 17k. Generally the thumb rule from what I've observed is that below 17k phones are the ones with fully cutdown version of One UI where as midrange phones above 17-20k have quite a lot of good features. So, for Samsung I'll give 3 tiers rating. One in GOATED, One in Solid, and other one in Does the job.

Realme makes some genuine value for money phones dude. Just because you're a tech reviewer and everything is in abundance to you, you can put the likes of Apple at top, but for an average user, brands like Realme and Iqoo are what make their accessibility happen (and pump up your video views)
I'm on a Pixel 8. It's the MVP phone of the year according to MKBHD for a reason. Its the experience and I Love it. Only other phone I would get is iPhone 15 Pro. Those other brands have better hardware not software. Pixel features are very useful in NYC where I live because we have every race and culture here and guess what. I can talk to anybody easily with live translate. I dont need service or wifi to communicate with people who do not speak English. 1080p video on selfie should be illegal in 2023. Plus the photos are way better than iPhone according to blind test. Some ppl dont care about gaming and benchmarks. Just my opinion. Stay blessed though and great video by the way.
Apart from performance,hardware, and software experience ,GOAT and Very solid tier brands should also be good in after sales service with quick turn around time .

Dude I m using Pixel 8 Pro for 2 month now.. I would say its way better than Samsung trust me! I have used s23 Ultra for a month and then was using oneplus and then got pixel 8 pro and from these 3 phones I will go with Pixel 8 Pro. its really awesome and its haptic feedback is on another level plus the AI is very well optimised. I know its at higher price but if you see the Samsung and Apple I would say its priced okay but I too feel its should be 10-15k less. If you ask the photos are awesome but the biggest improvement is in the Video and I will give 10/10 for the Google effort this year 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I think Pixels are one of the best phones out there, they're the only ones innovating in this rather stagnant market of smartphones. Yes, they do have their fair share of troubles but who doesn't. Pixels have been winning MKBHD's blind camera tests consecutively for years and the photo samples that you showed to compare also had better colour accuracy in pixel's, I am not sure what you look in a photo but your approach seems quite naive.

Oneplus has stopped doing screen replacement. Theyre giving oneplus store voucher. Depending on how old your phone is you'll get an amount not good enough to get a replacement phone that you can only redeem on oneplus products. Smh.

I purchased moto edge 40 this year and as soon as I opened it, it had issue of camera fogging
I went to my nearby centre here in Pune
But they said me that it would take 14 days and didn't even replace my phone , they just repaired it when the terms and conditions of purchase were of replacement...
I had no phone literally for 14 days
And upon asking repeatedly there executives got pissed at me and were not too helpful throughout the process of repair. They just kept pushing the dates further ahead and I kept waiting for my phone!!!

I think the samsung budget deserved the very solid tier, i own samsung m14 one of the cheapest m series, it gets full one ui not core, good camera, display battery, got android update during December starting gets secure folder too, got it for 13000 including offer. Insane phone for price range and samsung value customisability (good lock, finelock). One problem is the notch, still dated notch.
