The birds chirping in the beginning of the video is everything 🥰 Tip #2 is so true!! I don't know why I tried to go to self help when I love romance stuff LOL so I was always slow on reading or finishing the books -- so I thought I wasn't a reader. Also #4!! Took me so long to get over feeling bad or judged for not reading "academic" books. Love this video because it's soooo true.
Also recommend Hoopla! It's also for libraries too. You get like 5 items a month to borrow 🧡
The birds were paid actors 😂 But yessss! I feel like I stayed in the self-help/scientific genre of books for so long because I was thinking too hard about how I was perceived even though I barely talked to anyone about the books I was reading! Books with lovable characters and stories are so much easier to build community around and have fun talking about!
Ohh! I'll definitely check out hoopla! 😍
Reading a series is a smart idea. Because just like games, there’s a plethora of books to start and it can be very daunting. At least it’s a series you know where to go next.
Yes! That is what really helped me get in the habit because I really wanted to know what was next in a series. So, by the time I was done, I had read 5 books and then I decided to read everything that author put out 🤣 which were 2 more series! I wouldn’t be where I am today without book series!
These are such great tips! Biiiiiig agree that 1.25 is the perfect audiobook speed
Yesss! I have listened at 1.5x speed when I was in a hurry to finish a library book...but I feel like I didn't retain the info quite as well 😅
I really love your videos.. V wholesome. Also as a terrible reader tip 5 is a must. I read a lot, but sometimes it takes me a few times to comprehend things on a page due to dyslexia so just using it as an outlet to relax in my adulthood is way better than forced to as a student. Oh ya one more thing, being outdoors and having this good of audio is pretty neat. You frikkin nailed the audio.
I feel like school assigned reading really did a number on me. I always felt like I wasn't comprehending things well enough. Getting rid of the pressure of having to analyze or be "good at it" has definitely helped me so much! I also know there is a dyslexia font on a lot of e-readers that makes it easier to read! I should've mentioned that in the video lol
Thank you so much! I have really been trying to get my audio right on my videos, so I appreciate that so much! I have a nice mic attachment thing on my camera with a wind screen on it! It was putting in WORK!
I loved the Howl's Moving Castle book!!! Such a great video!
I read it quite a while ago and there are so many things I don’t remember! I definitely need to give it a reread ☺️
