This movie was surprisingly brutal like optimus genuinely did some shit that would make this movie 18+ if it was anything other than robots
Shockwave killed Optimus' girlfriend back on cybertron (though that was later retconned) and Sentinel killed his best freind. Optimus was apeshit furious

Fun fact: In the IDW version of DotM, Megatron and Optimus offer a truce like in the original script, and how Sentinel died there it was purely poetic. He was shot by Optimus using his own cosmic rust cannon, the same one that was used to kill Ironhide
That's how it should have ended. Even when I was 10 years old watching this in theatres I was shocked to see Optimus brutally killing an enemy who had already surrendered to him and then executing Sentinel by shooting him in the head when he was already wounded and defeated.
@@NiniSuperiorthat’s not the case, Megatron was just offering a truce, not surrendering. Also if you looked at the novel, it did have Optimus and Megatron make a truce but it was in depth and Megatron was being genuine, unlike in the movie where Megatron was obviously making this truce just to get more power. If anything,Megatron was still power hungry, he was also mocking Optimus for his weakness.
Man we got robbed just because of a leak... That ending would have been golden. Optimus turning cold at the end was GOATED NGL, but the original ending could have been better
