Considering how attendance to Operas and symphonies have been declining over the decades due to older generations of supporters not being replaced by younger fans, it would be great for some cultural institution like the Met to snap up Matteo and Nick as pubic ambassadors to promote the art form to the wider public. I don't think I've heard anyone in my life or the media I consume talk about the Opera as a fun exciting place to see talented people perform as much as Matteo and Nick. Those two show Opera as being both awe inspiringly beautiful and as something you don't have to take so seriously, which is a big accomplishment considering the widespread assumption that Opera is too stuffy for most people to enjoy or even feel welcome. Anyhow, this video makes me want to see some Opera!
@@augusts1 Oh god, and I even proofread my comments! Is there any other misspelling quite as embarrassing? At least I know that Matteo and Nick both have such a good sense of humor that they wouldn't be bothered by may error.
@@Cjmacj , be nice please. I have been blessed to have Central Park out my front door for all my life and enjoy the Opera also , and yes I do consider it a Beautiful City and Blessing. God Bless
What a fabulous, joyful video! I smiled from ear-to-ear throughout the whole thing and have watched it three times (so far). Your vibe with Nadine (and Brian) was uplifting, exciting, and simpatico--exactly the kind of comfortable and inclusive energy that would bring a new audience to opera. I was honestly awestruck by the quality and lyricism of your voice, Matteo. And, although I know it's totally impractical, the first thing I thought when hearing your duet with Nadine was, "Disney should pay top dollar to pair these two in a new animated film." Certainly, Disney should hit you up. Thank you for the best 11 minutes I've spent on RUclips in a while!
It was really good! I was mesmerized. Love the behind the scenes look at the opera. What a lovely singing voice Mateo has. I couldn't believe the notes that young lady was hitting!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
not seeing them here, maybe you got here ridiculously early when they do their thing and people haven't yet reported them or any channel moderation has occurred. but you aren't crazy, i've seen them like roaches on other channels too.
Amazing!! Although making her walk down those steps in those heels without the handrail😂 such a clueless (gay) man thing to do. A straight gentleman would have offered her at least an arm for support. One of the very few times chivalry is needed due to women’s crap fashion norms. However, Mateo wasn’t going to miss out on his dramatic descent 😂❤❤❤ ** if you do read this Mateo, not slamming, just teasing you .. I got nothing but love for you and your voice sounded incredible as always❤😊
I just saw Nadine Sierra in Romeo & Juliet at the Met on cinemas, she was incredible and the production was a beautiful traditional staging. French tenor Benjamin Bernheim was her perfect romeo. Nadine is of Puerto Rican, Italian and Portuguese descent
This is FANTASTIC! I love Matteo's voice, and they were incredible together!! (An aside though, does anyone else pretty much live for his Nick impressions??) 😂
I still havent recovered from the insanely funny denouement of that video of Matteo succeeding in using the TUrbo Cooker. "It really is moist and delicious!" - disgusted, supremely disappointed look.

Wow-wee this was so good. I had to watch it again! I'm just so impressed with you! I will say I wished you would have dressed up a little more just for the respect of where you were. Thank God you didn't wear the sleeveless t-shirt.
Matteo, one of the things that most don't know is that most opera singers when they perform are VERY loud. They have to be. It's called projection. I cant imagine two people next to each other singing at the top of their lungs not going totally deaf. Have you ever experience this type of performance?
This was just wonderful. Being an opera buff, I’ve been lucky to see Nadine a number of times. She is the whole package - beautiful voice and a moving actress who cares about each word she sings. Anyone who cares about great singing needs to see her Juliet! Thanks Matteo!!!
Thank you, what a dream come true for me and I'm sure many others. Nadine's voice is glorious and to see you get such a special tour and sing together I couldn't imagine a better day.😊
Thank u!!!! It's exciting! Nadins's disney is also precious!❤❤❤❤❤ and what an amazing information, now i know there is a conductor under the stage telling things what to do!
I certainly don’t claim to know the qualifications for the met but don’t sell yourself short. That’s a phenomenal talent you have. I’d be the first to buy it if you ever put together an album.
Is it just me, or is she NOT the greatest singer? Her voice kept breaking, her vibrato is aggressive, and her voice has no nuance. Matteo is better then she is.
When you boldly sing full throat open deep is great as if you were performing than fking joking in a RUclips vid going kinda nasal higher in you back throat🤩😍
NADINE SIERRA ARE YOU FUCKING JOKING???? I literally learned about you a couple of years ago from a collab pianist who went to your show in Michigan WHILE I WAS DOING MY MASTERS IN VOICE WHAT
"Là ci darem la mano" from Mozart's Don Giovanni (I had to look it up) -- It sounds like Monty Python cribbed that melody for their "Lumberjack Song." (...Wow, Wikipedia concurs! Fancy that!)

This is the stupidest comment i ve ever seen. The Met Opera doesn t hold a candle over the Paris Opera, Milano Opera, Vienna Opera, etc.
i would DIE for more videos like this. Matteo touring everywhere with all the broadway/opera/ singing with all the people!
Oh, that would be lovely!😊
it was amusing how Matteo went from Prince Philip to Gaston when he started talking about hiding in the bushes
Matteo needs to sing more often.
He was an opera singer
Sing more honestly? Or sing more, honestly?

Sierra is so refreshingly down to earth. Just heard her sing Juliette on radio broadcast.Gorgeous!
“Do you think I turned gay yesterday?!”
I’m thinking this day was even better for Matteo than getting hair surgery 👨🏻🗣️🎤💘
Matteo's "broadcaster" voice is just a twist off from sounding exactly like George Takei.
Matteo being a kid in a candy store 🥹💓
Holy shit Matteo needs to do a Disney any vocal vocal woke up on Sunday morning to hear this beautiful musical💜💙

Before watching....$20 bucks Matteo is going to be in tears.
I didn't get a notification and missed this episode. Thank you for showcasing all this talent and a tour at the MET.

How lucky for you, I just heard a snippet of Nadine Sierra as Violetta in Traviata, lovely.
