Great old pattern. Many times I’ve the trout hit it as soon as it hits the water. I don’t know why but it works. I always try it when nothing is workin. Nice job.
One of my very very favorite flies, it's the fly I caught my first trout ever on back in 1963 with a fly rod. I was all of 8 and Fly fishing was voodo back then. I really like to fish this fly in thin water in the fall for brook trout, thou the browns and rainbows will eat it too.
There's lots of stickleback in the local Lake and have caught many three to six pound rainbows on the Mickey Finn. I just troll them but haven't even caught them on the hang. One of my best fly's.

I tied 100 of these in a smaller version for a tie-a-then locally. A fun pattern.
