Tipping with Goldbacks in California

Goldbacks are interesting and people are interested. After going around to multiple businesses in California, we found that people really liked it. There are so many reasons to like Goldbacks. Some liked it for the art, some liked it for the gold, some liked the idea of spending it but we can all agree they are cool! These people have never seen a Goldback before and yet see the value in gold. Tipping is such an easy way to introduce people to the idea of spendable gold and sound money.

Last night I tipped a waiter in Goldbacks and he flipped! I had it out on the table and he goes: "What is that! Can I touch it?" and I'm like "sure, its a Utah Goldback, you can have it for your tip if you want." and he was like "Really? That's awesome! Real Gold money!" He was really happy about it.

I get the same reaction! I tip with 2 dollar bills and 1 dollar coins. Ppl think they don't exist anymore. I'm deff getting some goldbacks!

We are not saying spend them all. The bigger the market is for goldbacks, the more widely they can be used. We recommend using them for tipping, at farmers markets, street vendors or garage sales. These are all easy ways to make small transactions with fractional gold.
