They are very nice. I watched a video from their tour recently, how they are preparing for concerts. The drummer was sitting in the first row of the hall, with a needle and thread, sewing up a jacket. Journalists came up and asked what you were doing. She replied: “the suit is torn, and I don’t have another one,” and looked pitifully with big eyes
RQ is fire musically, and they are such sweet people. The picture I took with them at a meet-n-greet is one of my most prized possessions. New EP drops later this month! I heard an interview with their manager where he said they can for sure go harder, but intentionally keep some pop elements in order to appeal to a wider audience. I highly recommend their MV cover of Reminiscence (original by Sanullim).
My favorite RQ song is their work with 015B called Random. Official video is [MV] 015B(공일오비), 롤링쿼츠(Rolling Quartz)_Random it's definitely a whole new side from them you haven't heard.
they are such a great band. saw them in cologne in january. not too big, but phenomenal show. badass amazing young women. and they had a surprise: they opened their show playing and singing a local carnival hit "viva colognia" (which means long live cologne in latin).
Rolling Quartz were a very unexpected live highlight of 2023. I knew they wouldn’t disappoint, but they were truly excellent. They play it a bit safe but I didn’t go for a music lesson, I went to be entertained. 100/100 I can’t wait to see them again.
Some more great songs from RQ are "Fearless", "Blaze", "Delight", "Azalea", "Good Night", "Holler", "NAZABABARA", "Reminiscence", and "PINK DROP" = Pink Venom x MIC Drop by AleXa x Rolling Quartz. You have a girl crush on Yeongeun, the drummer, not surprising! My guy crush is on Arem, the bass player! All these ladies are cute and badass at the same time! Gotta love them!
Nails are a definite thing on the dominant hand for classical guitarists I know. I think this group is wonderful and fun. I too enjoyed this. Thank you NP!
Hello Princess NittPicc! I hope you are having a wonderful day! Thank you for reacting to Rolling Quartz again. They are very talented people, and from what I've seen of them they are very nice and humble as well. It takes a lot of courage to form a rock band in Korea, since the music scene is so saturated with pop music. DIH and The Fix are two other great rock bands in Korea that are definitely worth trying. Please take care and have an awesome week.
@@Olkam-w5u Well, if they aren't taking vocal lessons from Jayoung, they should be. Either that or taking lessons from Sena, the lead guitarist/lead vocalist of DIH.
Hi NittPicc, if you haven't already, checkout this song's official music video. It has traditional Korean mask dance, lion dance, and a giant digital LED screen back ground. JaYoung, the vocalist, mentioned that RQ has another new music video recorded.
What you're hearing is not a jazz riff, nah, that's a vamp, which is what's giving it that sort of old-school gangster or even almost vaudeville feel (the drummer is physically vamping the vamp). Which, coming from a Korean band, who woulda thunk it. Pretty cool. Matt Bellamy wants his triplets on the guitar back (that's a compliment)! ;)
From a musical standpoint, this is by far my favorite Korean band and bands in general. For entertainment, they are many dance/vocal groups from Korea I enjoy over Japan. For the most part The Japanese groups tend to be cute while the Korean groups tend to be sexy.
Thank you for reacting to more Rolling Quartz. I absolutely love them. Not sure what version of the MV you watched bc it looked a bit different from the one from their channel. I just found it interesting and noticed it pretty quick haha
This is the Performance Video of ' Stand Up' that was released recently. It was the basis for the Official Music Video of 'Stand Up' - the finished product - that was released about 1 month ago. NittPicc - the Official MV is excellent, very visual and definitely worth checking out.
Love RQ! Seen, met, interviewed them and they are just a great group of girls! This is actually the second version of their video for this song. The original MV was more theatric, but this shows more of their performance. You will see the little stands or boxes used by Korean and Japanese bands ... it comes from playing smaller venues. Some, like RQ, just use them instinctively and having a member get on top to highlight a solo or something is just part of the show. On your own time you really should go back and take a look at the original MV as i think you'd enjoy the production of it all. K-Rock really is a thing ;) .
I love this international look at rock/metal. I'd love to see some more Rolling Quartz, and if you want to look elsewhere, I'd also suggest Bloodywood for some Indian metal.
I can't answer the question about how Hyunjung utilizes her fingernails, but this video does show her taking the torch as Queen of rock and roll legs from the great Tina Turner!
They have come a long way in a relatively short time. On the subject of covers, Iree (the red-haired guitarist) does an amazing job covering Scuttle Bittin' by Stevie Ray Vaughan. They usually include it in their live shows, and you can find a couple different versions on RUclips.
Rolling Quartz is so fun, I think they are a bit underrated. Their music video's are in my opinion a bit too much compressed, so I went and check them out live when they were in the Netherlands. Oh boy, they were so much better live and funny. I was introduced with their song "Blaze" and from then on kept following them. Another nice mention are the collaboration with other artist. My favourite is still Ice and Fire with the "old" 🤫 man Kim Jang Hoon (Link: ruclips.net/video/z_T4l7kcNAM/видео.html ) You may start at 1:20 unless you want to see their interaction just before the song :P On your question at 12:28 if Choi Hyunjung would use her nails as a pick... well I asked her on her RUclips channel on one of her video's (Link: ruclips.net/video/RcT8YRIwJCI/видео.html ) and she said that she only uses a pick. Did you know that she also would do the backing vocals. She has a nice voice.
I checked out the video you mentioned where you asked Hyunjung about using her nails as a pick. I had the same question in mind. She was playing a bass. I wondered if that is her bass or Arem's bass named Red. For those wondering, Arem Red coloured bass, the one you see in the video shown here, is named Fanta. Her black coloured bass is named Red.
They are all beautiful, but Iree and Yeongeun have a certain charisma that just drives people mad.. They are all so happy, A real feel good element that makes them so much more than just a band. Great reaction as usual, please can you circle back to Aldious and check out the live version of Reincarnation. Would love to see and hear your breakdown on this song. Best wishes as always from France 👍🤘🫰🇨🇵
I'm with you, I think there's some real big band jazz influence at least. It sounds great, whatever it is! I've been subbed to RQs channel for a while now, but I've never gone on a deep dive. I think they're great, but maybe not as hard or heavy as I like? I dunno, I like to check out their new releases, anyways. Good music and sexy Korean ladies, how can you go wrong? Cake, meet icing. lol
I know for sure she has :p . Among other reasons I was standing in line in Chicago for the meet and greet last summer, right behind a girl who gifted her one :) .
BTW, when you watched Unlucky Morpheus you kind of wanted to see more of Jill playing the violin. This is a 2 hour concert by them, with plenty of each member getting time, and Jill playing a LOT of violin (she is so freakin' cute too!). ruclips.net/video/yLaeIqF_sb8/видео.html
The RQ cover of "Bad Romance" is great. Better than the original. Ja Young can actually do the vocals without auto-tune. Lady Gaga can not. I have seen several RQ live streams on RUclips and they are every bit as tight as Band-Maid. The guys that master their songs for studio recordings have a pretty easy job. They don't have to do much.
A lot of (almost all) Classical (and other Fingerstyle guitar genre) Guitarists have long nails on their right hand and short nails on their left (or vice versa if they are left handed), to the point that it is a big deal if they decide to cut them off (Brandon Acker has a video about it ruclips.net/video/GjNFvtRU4Jc/видео.html he is a RUclips Classical Guitarist/Lutist entertainer/instructor/educator). So yes that guitarist likely plucks the strings with her nails, and is probably a Classically Trained Guitarist (or one of the other Fingerstyle guitar genres). Probably one of the most impressive Fingerstyle guitarists around today is Marcin (he started as a Classical Guitarist, switched to Flamenco and is known for his use of percussion techniques); he has short nails on his left hand and long nails on his right. Beethoven's "Für Elise" on One Guitar - Marcin ruclips.net/video/QAShTQaMRdg/видео.html though he does have a soon to be released video, in a few days, with Tim Henson (of Polyphia who you have reacted too); Marcin, Tim Henson - Classical Dragon (Official Video) ruclips.net/video/FGM3U3buQj0/видео.html
