funny thing is the band called her "the boss" its her arranagement her music her style. I love the way she throws "the ball" to the sax player on the solo but the live version of "its a mans world" "bohemian Rhapsody" and Billie Jean arrangement will give you an idea that Angelina does nothing but Angelina and can cover so many styles. This was my introduction to AJ as well , and not having any AJ context, I was amazed and impressed, but after hearing so much more of Angelina, I have found I have come back to this video alot and my appreciation and awe just grows of what an epic performance, firstly as a Jazz rendition goes but then add in the fact it is performed and arranged by a 9 year old it has to be one of the greatest things ever to exist, and its so exciting that she exists )) I am just so grateful to be able to glimpse it.

I listened to more than 200 covers of this song and in my opinion no one comes close to capturing the spirit of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins song.
Many people are not aware that Mr. Hawkins was a trained Opera singer, pianist, actor, and a boxing Champ. He joined the army at age 13 using forged birth certificate. He was a formidable boxer in the US Army and Air Force. He won several boxing awards mostly in his hometown of Cleveland and in 1949 he won The Middleweight Boxing Championship in Alaska.

You’re going to be inundated with comments because there is so much to say about Angelina. She is known as the girl with a thousand voices-you heard one of them today. What you got so right is her authenticity. She sings in many genres and just kills everything. Jazz and blues are her anchor, and that influence seeps into many genres she covers. I’m in my seventies and have followed music all my life. Angelina is easily the best singer I’ve ever heard-period, no qualification needed.
I think a great second selection for you would be Bohemian Rhapsody because you’ll see her older (but still only 13) and in a completely different style. Also, that performance (her own arrangement, as with all her songs) displays something else you picked up-Angelina is extremely humble, but absolutely confident in her vocal ability and her inherent musicality. As you noted, there is no self-conscious questioning of whether her stunning arrangements are too different. She sings from her heart. Angelina, with minimal accompaniment, is absolutely mesmerizing. She’s got you from the first line. You just need to start watching: any age, any genre, any song.

NOTICE, Angelina making notes and the music director reading the notes. the song is very close to the original, but she always puts her own twist on everything she sings. She is now 17 Years old and has been signed to republic records since she was 14.( Angelina and her family made the decision for her to not pursue music full time until she had completed high school ) has just released her first full Album with all original songs. her first song off the album is called "Love Dont Let Me Go" which she co wrote. Angelina rose to fame at age 7 when she auditioned for the Norways Got Talent show in 2013 for the 2014 tv edition. by the time the show was on tv she had turned 8. Angelina went on to WIN the show with a 45% of all the votes, of the top 10 finalists. in the fall of 2019, the show AMERICAS GOT TALEN THE CHAMPIONS started auditions for the 2020 season. Angelina was 13 years old and performed her version of the Queen song Bohemian Rhapsody. she was so good and so original she received the golden buzzer. Simon and the shows producers wanted to sign her to a contract. they wanted to chose the songs she would sing and how she would sing them, but Angelina and her family said no. because Angelina refused to sign a contract with the show they didnt allow her to win. she finished 6th. i quit watching the show after that. but from age 7 and up till now at age 17, you will not find a more original voice. yes she sounds like so many different people but thats what is so good about her. a couple of her original songs, one she was 12, song called "Shield",( live version ) she is co writer , is amazing .. she released an E P at age 14 with some original songs also. one is called "7th Heaven" and another one called "Million Miles" (live in studio) black and white version, is about the death of her grandfather. this song is so beautiful and the way she sings it is heartbreaking.. her video of "My Funny Valentine" released Valentines Day of 2022 is cute, but the way she sings the song is so beautiful. she released a video of her doing a Michael Jackson song "Billie Jean" at age 15 and the video is a bit odd but her version of the song is just so cool. also at age 15, she released her cover version of Adeles song "Easy On Me". Angelinas version of the song is even better than the original. she also released her video just a very few days after Adele released the song. at 16 she released a video of an Elvis song "Suspicious Minds", again its so original. that is just a few of the many many MANY songs she has done. JUST for your information, Angelina and her family were n a vacation in the middle east and were walking down the street looking around. they came upon a girl who was about Angelinas age at that time, 6, and the young girl was trying to raise money to help feed her family by weighing people. Angelina went over to this young girl and they sat down on the sidewalk and chatted. the little girl did not have any shoes on and it was cold outside. she told Angelina how pretty her shoes were and she wished she had some shoes like hers. they talked more but Angelina took her shoes off and gave them to the young girl. Angelina told her family that she would never wear shoes again while performing as long as there are children in the world who dont have shoes to wear. THAT is why you will see in the videos when she is singing she is not wearing shoes. over the years since then Angelina has done many performances for charity and has helped raise millions of dollars for many different charities. there is just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much more to know about Angelina. her fans are called Angelinas Angels..................
Just an idle thought Angelina seems like a pure breed racehorse starting out of the gates with a voice of magic and the determination to overtake every vocalist now or in the past to be able to sing to the world, I want my daughters to be like Angelina maybe not the voice but the pure good human nature of this Angel.
This young girl from Norway is THE voice of our generation. She is channeling Billie Holiday, Amy Whinehouse and others with little of their angst. She covers Adele and Whitney Houston,... things other artists just DO NOT cover. She is STUNNING!!!
She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 16
- She began singing at the age of one and a half
- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 160 songs and over 70 artists. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse, Lana del Rey, and Adele like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written five of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", "Million Miles", and "7th Heaven" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.
- Updates: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist".
On Nov 6 2020 she released her first single under Republic... "Million Miles"!

The teenage breathy songs are not my thing and I have gone elsewhere until that passes or I appreciate it more (like Picasso’s blue period - artists have their musical explorations).
I love watching Angelina from the beginning but a favorite is “I’m still holding out for you.”

@@PrymalChaos actually, scrap reading any of the reasons why "Still Holding Out For You" wasn't released as most are rubbish and who cares anyway? Just listen to it, it leaves most people with an actual, visibly jaw dropped to the floor. She was just 10 when it was recorded.
Some people say Angelina has an old soul. I don't know about that but, she is one of a kind and seems to have been born with whatever IT is.
Those were changes to the arrangemnt of the song. Those men in the studio call her the boss.

I'm not going to repeat things that others have already sent you in their comments, only that in the opinion of many critics, analysts and vocal coaches, we are facing the future queen of music. There is a detail that can give you an idea of the impact that she will cause in the music industry, when she did a melodic version of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on AGT, the members of Queen were so amazed that they gave her the record rights to her version.
You just stumbled upon what is arguably the greatest musical genius of this century.

It was never the plan from the start to win as she did not want to sign the contact with AGT and give up rights. She waited until Republic Records came on the scene. and signed with them. AGT had tried for two year to get her to sing. She agreed that she did not have to sign. An Indian dance group won!!! Everyone looked at her as the moral winner, and the net boiled down afterwards where it was claimed that the show had been arranged in advance and fixed.

Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. She followed this by another Billie classic with a pitch perfect rendition of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella. Her next performance was a beautiful rendition of 'Bang, Bang' by Sony & Cher and performed most famously by Nancy Sinatra. She won the competition with what I consider her first Masterpiece performance of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin. Shortly after winning she was designated a National Treasure by the Norwegian people.
There is video of Angelina recorded my her mother Sarah Astar singing a couple of lines of "I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston when she was 18 months old. She started studying all the greats of Jazz soon after under the guidance of her Iranian Grandmother Mery Zamani a child prodigy in her own right as an artist and poet. English is Angelina's 3rs language behind Norwegian and Farsi along with japanese and some German and perhaps more. She did this from 2 & 3 yrs old by scrolling thru RUclips of all their most Iconic performance. Angelina doesn't just mimic these greats, she reinterprets them and then simply sings them the way they were meant to be sung. She makes them her own.
Angelina was begging her mother to go on "that Simon show" when she was 3 yrs old. encouraged to sing children songs, she would have none of that. Angelina chooses her own songs and she is absolutely fearless. No song is too big and no artist is too Iconic. All the most Iconic songs by the most Iconic singers in music history. Angelina has said singing to her is as important to her as breathing. She will sing anything Acapella at any time and often does. Her Tic-Toc is full of these impromptu performances wherever she might be whether in the car, walking around the neighborhood or in a parking Garage. Since winning NGT she has sung for celebrities and heads of state and some of the biggest venues all over the world. The industry is well aware of Angelina's immense talent and her family were inundated by offers from the biggest promoters in the world including Disney. All turned down by Angelina and her family. They have protected her while she finishes school. She has sung mostly for charities raising millions for children and climate change as well as a few festivals and occasionally some huge venues like opening for Norah Jones in Korea in front of about 40 thousand.
Angelina finally signed with Republic Records a couple of years ago and has since released her 1st two original performances with 'Million Miles' and '7th Heaven' released at 14 & 15 respectively. She is never, never has been "nervous." She is home when she is singing--a special safe and wonderful place. She could not be more secure.
She was born to sing, and has been almost since birth. See her first studio work at six, and her competition at 7 and 8. And her development.

She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original.
Things I found particularly worthy of note in this video are
(a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled.
(b) A brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother, a well known and respected Iranian Artist and poet who was also a child prodigy. She was the person who recognised Angelina's talent at an early age and exposed her to all the old time jazz singers.
(c) The candle with an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it.
(d) The smile on the face of the Bass player.
(e) How she rose on to her toes on the last occasion she sang "...because you're mine"
(f) The fact she occasionally refers to her written notes on the music stand
(g) The instant transformation from "performance" mode to that of a pensive child, possibly wondering whether she could have done better. I comment on the "pensive" child because Angelina has an incredible work ethic and seeks to perform every song in a way she considers will bring out all the emotions within the lyrics and melody.
Angelina has been referred to as the "Queen of Jazz", "The Barefoot Princess", "The girl with a thousand voices". All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.
On Angeline and Jordan's initial audition on Norway's got talent her first song one of the judges made the comment that she sounded like she's been drinking whiskey since she was born. She was 7 years old. She won of course. This particular performance the musicians gave her the nickname the boss.

At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried.
Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience.
In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them.
In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists.
Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RUclips went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.
In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration.
Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14.
A 9 years old, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs.
At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a RUclips video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances.
When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident.
On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year.
During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each.
In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT.
Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on RUclips. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her.
In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one.
Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”
In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song.

Andy I'm so glad you wrote about the real reason she performs barefoot (as a reminder). But there are a couple of corrections required in your piece: She doesn't have the fluency to be considered a speaker of either Japanese or Swedish.....She DID sign a contract with AGT. This is what Uncle Mike said in an interview with Music Norway: AGT had always been interested in bringing Angelina to the show, but with their normal contract, artists are being locked into a label, management, and other things for many years. Astar says that it didn’t matter if you get exposure or not, it was out of question to give away that right.
“Some time passed and they again contacted me, asking if she wanted to sing on their show. I convinced them to give me a contract where Angelina is free from any deal if she performs."....Otherwise, a good job putting together this bio!

Please read all of Rusty's comment it gives you a short biography of AJ and will help understand how amazing she is. That question about impersonating arose when she sang Gloomy Sunday on Norway's Got Talent at 7 but when the judges got there the next morning she was over with the bass man making sure he understood how she wanted it done, and they were sure she was the real thing.

There are so many performances by Angelina that will amaze you. Her audition on Norway's got talent at 7 years old singing Gloomy Sunday is when she was introduced to the world and is definitely worth a watch. You may prefer her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody at 13 years old on Americas got talent - the champions (she got the golden buzzer). It really doesn't matter which of her 150 or so covers you watch, they are all stellar. When you learn more about her, you will realize she is an even better person than she is a vocalist.

You're so right about kids on talent contests. What makes one outstanding is WHO they imitate, how close that imitation is, not so much how good it is objectively.
Outstanding about Angelina doing covers is her creativity in how she "assembles" a performance. She decides to do IPASOY, she doesn't just copy one of the other famous cover artists, she goes back to the songwriter, picks up what interests her from (his/her) version, then merges that with her personal voice modeled on eg. Holiday, Winehouse, James; then picks up bits from other singers who have performed that song; then studies or feels where she can usefully add something creative in the context.

I didn't read through all the comments to see if anyone gave extra info on her than what I've read so far. She entered NGT at 7 & won by 8. Check that out. There are so many covers she's done, I lost count. She has written 4 or 5 of her originals before she signed to Republic Records at 14. She did do AGT, she got the golden buzzer but didn't win. Don't watch that show any more. Too much shady politics with them I didn't like. But that story is for another day. She is now 16 & her vocal talents have only gotten better. Her family.have been very protective of her. After her win with NGT many recording studios have tried to sign her. All were turned down. They wanted her to have a childhood & let her grow her own talents musically. She plays piano, guitar & violin. At least Republic Records were agreeable to her family's wishes towards her career in music. She does a lot of tic Tok. She is still vocally experimenting. Just before Xmas, she did a cover song by Duff for a movie called the Hating Game. It's the title song. She did her own background vocals as well. She did an on line Xmas special. There was an interview where it was mentioned that she was working on her own album. With covers & her originals. Supposedly to come out this year. Haven't kept track of that info. She has her own Utube channels. 2 of them. You can check that out as well. As for the bare.foot thing. She does perform like that at every one of her performances. I'm sure someone may have already written about that. The story behind it, she wrote a children's book a 9. She is the youngest published author in Norway. I love this performance so much. As they say AJ don't play. Well perhaps this is what she does when she does play and we get the most stunning, amazing performance of a 9 yr old of this Jazz standard ever created. I believe it is going to go down in Jazz & Music history as the best ever for this age and in my opinion the best rendition of this song ever created Screamin Jay included. It will be revisited for Generations and will remain relevant for Generations to come. Any one discovers this performance for the first time today or a 100 years from today are going to be as amazed and astounded as everybody has been to this point. Think of the children who will be inspired by this one performance in the decades to come. This is an Iconic performance and will alway be Iconic. Angelina has on her own from early on at 6 or 7 yrs old reintroduced what I believe will be a whole new Jazz Era and redefined by this young phenom and prodigy. That is astounding! It's like her voice is this constant, on-going force going on inside of her and she controls, modulates it at will. When she sings, she closes eyes (much of the time) and loses herself in her world, and takes occasional peeks out at us to see if we're still there. Don't worry, Angelina, we're not going anywhere. Angelina was 9 years old in this performance - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the arrangement based after listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes and it is read by the bandleader. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. She was 7 years old when she auditioned for "Norway got Talent" around a decade ago. I simply turned over to my GF and stated "if this is real, this competition just turned into a race for second place". It was real, all right. And she is still busy proving it by improving by the month now, a decade later.
Oh, by the way. She does those pentatonic licks too, my friend (check out her version of Bohemian Rhapsody live at AGT). IPASoU is the only time she has been allowed to growl a bit (her body and vocal cords are still growing - and as we all can instantly hear - her voice is a property with a lot of long term value). But she comes with the most insane natural vocal fry since - well - anybody.
Now at the age of 16 - She has developed into this Jazz meets Blues meeting Soul and contemporary Pop that is incomprehensible. Do not trust me. Trust Quincy Jones - yeah the producer of Micheal Jackson that said "well - she is the biggest talent I have heard since Micheal Jackson.
She is on my bucket list as one of the best reasons to work out a bit. I am seriously looking forward to hearing this young woman sing live in 15-20 years. At peak. I know it may get expensive. But I am saving up. This kid is special. And she has an excellent record company and team who shield her well while she is growing up.

During an interview, the host of a Norwegian TV talk show asked Angelina if she gets nervous before performing on stage. This was Angelina’s response:
“When I sing, I go to another world. The world is endless. It's like, full of happiness. I love it. It's amazing. And when I am on stage, I don't want to go [leave the stage]. [laughing]. I just want to be on stage"

Jim To add to your writing about her confidence and comfort level on stage: From an interview, prior to a concert in Norway a few years ago, she was asked if she found it "scary" performing in front of so many people. She laughed at this (as if to say: "'Are you kidding? Don't be silly!") and replied: "No, I think it's nothing but fun! I love singing!"
She has worked with professional musicians since she was 7 years old I guess, and also has performed publicly since 7 years old.. She sang in Nobel prize gala with 100% confidence like a pro, waving and smiling to the audience between her phrases... I mean, she is not any usual child singer..

She is a musical savant! "I'd Rather Go Blind", "My Funny Valentine" some of her great jazz covers. My favorite is her in the studio covering "I'm a Fool to Love You". If I didn't see her with my own 2 eyes I would have thought it was Billy Holiday singing.
Apart from the obvious ludicrously good vocal talent thus young lady displayed, it’s really important for you to understand that this was pretty much her own arrangement..she took SJH’s wacky original and performed just as SHE felt it..9 years 2 months..she’s special..I strongly recommend you continue looking into this phenomenal talent..subd. Bte she was already a seasoned stage pro by this age having performed live on many occasion in front of many thousands of fans.

She is nothing short of amazing. She is always way ahead of the curve with a long flat line behind her. She is obviously very gifted but also grows fast in her art and she is working very hard as well.
She has a very versatile voice and uses it with great instinct, skill and precision. She has original songs starting from 12 on, and many covers. When she covers people she either reinvents the song which she did with Bohemian rhapsody and Billie Jean. Or she stays closer to the original embodies the original artist and then still makes it her own.
Be prepared to be surprised at every trim when you listen to her.
Now this will really blow your mind. She auditioned for Norways Got Talent at 7 She was 8 by the time she won. They thought she was too young at first till she politely corrected her accompaniest. She has always decided how she arranged her music. Her family are artisic but not musicians, but her grandma a famous artist painted whilst listening to jazz as she baby sat. Watch her early covers. An interview with Ivan mendez the young guitarist that looks related but isn't, said the sessions were very organic without much, often no, rehearsal. Some of her best covers you see she is reading the lyrics to the side. She sings every genre but if you liked this check out Man's World age 12. With the fors(I can't spell it orchestra) why it's so spectacular is her timing drfts slightly and she auto corrects in such a spectacular way you see the conductor move his head abruptly back. He then makes the orchestra stand to give her an ovation at the end. Wait for it its a special moment. She is not only singing spectacularly she is extemporising.
You must hear her performance on Norwegian talents when she was 7 years old, then you will understand more. Her talent is nothing to doubt and she just is!
She channels Screaming Jay Hawkins in this performance but this is her own arrangement performed a year after winning Norway's Got Talent. AJ is 16 now and has over 160 songs in many genres online including 5 original songs and 2 written for her.

It's her arrangement and was doing it in the spirit of Screamin J Hawkins. Her early inspirations were Billy Holiday, Etta James etc. Her ability to emotionally reach the audience is amazing. She has over 160 videos out there. She's 9 here and has been on stage since age 7. Please read Rusty Shackelford's message and you'll have an excellent background for the barefoot angel. It amazes me that you can describe Angelina so well after seeing only one of her videos, albeit an iconic one. Yes, we are not seeing ego, we are seeing confidence. Many might sing a song with themselves as to center of the performance. With Angelina, the song is the thing. Anything she does in a performance is to bring us into the music. Keep going, you will not regret it. By the way, she is 9 here and 16 now.
You are watching a bona fide musical genius. Angelina breaks all conventional norms and expectations. She is absolutely unique and I have yet to hear any other young singer come close to having Angelina’s lower register. Between youtube and facebook Angelina’s performances have approximately 3.5 billion views. There are also he Tik Toc and Instagram performances to consider.

She was 9 y.o. when this was recorded. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 7, so she was a seasoned performer by this time. Mostly covers Jazz but has performed across many genre's. She became popular in the states after her performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" on America's Got Talent-Champions edition. There's a lot more to her than that though, I'm sure someone will gladly fill you in.

She is well known world wide in the industry. Her family and Angelina have been holding back turning down many of the biggest in the industry including Disney while she finishes school. Remember she's only 16. They finally signed with Republic Records about two year ago after getting a deal that gave her control of her artistic vision and has since released 2 originals, 'Million Miles' & '7th Heaven' plus a soundtrack for the New Movie "The Hating Game" which opens with her song 'Mercy' performed most notably by Duffy. She is due to release her 1st album I heard as early as June or July, fingers crossed but promised by Angelin to be soon. She has diligently perfecting her craft since winning Norway's Got Talent sing all over the world, Germany, Japan, Korea as well as TV appearances such as the view, Little Big Shots and most notably America's Got Talent where she premiered her Iconic song 'Bohemian Rhapsody' which Queen gave her the rights to record her own version on ITunes and Spotify along with an Album 'Magic' she released on her own and a Christmas Song collection. She didn't win AGT because she would not sign with Simon. IMO. She has also sung for Many Heads of State and for Quincy Jones 85th birthday at the 02 Arena in London and a couple songs opening for Norah Jones in Korea I believe. Also sang at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert at 8 yrs old for Malala and another recipient. Mostly she has sung for charities helping raise millions for children and climate change. The great part is that most of it has been well documented often by herself and her family. Her Grandmother who introduced her to Jazz at 3 & 4 yrs old is behind the camera more than anyone else. If I were a betting man, I wouldn't be afraid to bet you are going to check out more of her videos. Her "Angels" (her name for her fans) will fill you in on everything there is to know about her (look for the explanation as to why she always sings barefoot in public) and they will suggest their favorite songs. She has about 170 videos on RUclips now, but I am going to leave a small list of links that "I" feel are must see, and show her journey from 6 years old to her present age of 16.
