As a fellow wiz vet, i can safely say that in the beginning, it might not seem so worth its value, but as the gameplay changes throughout progression, it will indeed keep you involved for most of the game, alongside it's ever-changing fanbase and gameplay to create a unique gameplay experience. Although wizard101 has good gameplay, there are still downsides. For example, an issue that has been ongoing for many years is pay-2-win content, which will lock free-2-play players from obtaining the best gear and items and overall limit involvement with extra content in general. Not only are paywalls frequent, but a sizable portion of the wizard101 fanbase is usually toxic, as most players often prefer solo gameplay over cooperation, which is not the main point of the game. Aside from frequent paywalls and toxic players, it is still possible to complete the game solo or with friends without investing a ton of money.
