My dad showed me the 2 Bill & Ted movies as a teen. He got me into Dr Who as a kid, I was almost named after a companion. He'd do some Secret Saturday film study with me when he'd show me movies that might not get approved by mom, but he thought were tame enough and valuable to watch with me. I haven't watched the 2020 film because of fear that it won't live up to the original.

One of my favorite shows as a child was David the Gnome and literally nobody my age remember David the Gnome, it was usually paired back to back with the smurfs on my local TV channel.

I remember David! It had the creepiest ending too where David and his wife turn into trees!

I think, a forgotten 2010's Animated Series might be "The Little Prince". It was a Core Part of my Childhood and i even themed a Universe in my Narrative Multiverse after it. It ran on the Children's Channel of my country's Public Broadcasting Companies.

    That’s it?!?
    Did you watched the shows?
I thought you were going to review the cartoons. Yes, I said cartoons because they’re nothing alike.
H-B’s had the spirit of the movie, the stories were consistent, had a similar tone to the movie, had all the characters from the movie. It was just great. But destiny had something big for H-B as they were sold that year to Turner, something that will end with certain projects and contracts as they’d reorganize with the new management and a huge project.
Possibly due to successful reruns and corporate greed due to the second movie and upcoming live action show, DiC brought us a travesty of the franchise. While the H-B crew would play with historical figures, make some commentary and even teach the audience a thing or two, DiC changed the premise completely. No more learn about the past to save the future, now it was to visit the worlds of books and other fictional media because... i don’t know, it was easier to parody a fictional character, I guess.
We went from “B&T mess the discovery of America and now Rufus is a Brit” to “B&T visit Sherlock Holmes to magically find something and next week they’ll meet Captain Ahab because Moby Dick is a book”.
There’s a reason why only 8 episodes exist. It was sometimes boring and most of the times lame. It appears they wanted to dumbdown the show for younger kids instead of trying to keep the pre-teens and teens that were fans of the source material and could understand the historical references.

I only remember one episode of the live action Bill and Ted show. It involved Rufus accidentally messing up the timeline after a dream about chicken Kiev. It wasn't very good, and I never bothered to watch another episode. My understanding is, neither did a lot of people.

My understanding is, it just was a really subpar show. I happened to stumble on it for that one episode. It wasn't the premiere or anything. Just, "Huh! So they have a Bill and Ted TV show? Haven't heard anything about it. I'll give it a shot.... well, maybe it gets better after the first act.... or the second... maybe a good closing....nope." After that, I just didn't put any effort into trying to find it on the schedule.

At around 2:04 of the video there is a pic of the phone booth the guys use for time travel. Directly above it are antenna that remind me of the Beldam's (Coraline) fingers... Coincidence? Fangirl, you may have a new case!

I think i caught on episodes on i was a kid in the 90s but i don't really remember what the would like . I'll be really interested to watch the now full stop i bought the omnibus of the comic books which has released in the run up to the learnt head 3 and that's quite mixed . Samba stories a really good summer pretty lame . I think you're right that it can be tricky to come up with reasons for them to do anything. Even the best comics retrod old ground from the film's quite a bit. I think a lot of people are afraid to stay too far from the original ideas, which is often seen as the soul right of the original authors. So while I didn't love B&T3, it did have some new ideas that I did like.

Forgot to mention a forgotten show to suggest. Project G.K.R. By the Earthworm Jim creator. Bizarre, dark Sci Fi setting, staring a talking Dinosaur, A cybernetically enhanced butt-kicking gal with her head shaved, save her ponytail, and the titular G.K.R., or 'Geeker' a reality bending, shape shifting biolab project the aforementioned dino and cyborg rescued and fought to keep out of the control of the evil corporate overlord, Mister Moloch. Oh, and Geeker was voiced by Billy 'Fry from Futurama' West.

Another cartoon I liked as a kid was Galaxy High; a space high school taking students from all over the universe.
The plot heavily centered around the two human transfer student protagonists, and the Jock's ongoing trouble accepting his new place in a school hierarchy where the smart nerd girl he came with is admired for her mental ability, and he is just a lackluster nobody, due to many, many of the other alien species being bigger and stronger than humans, so, his status as an athlete is only mid tier.

The less known about the live action series, the better. It wasnt anymore than what it presented; basically a half hour adaptation of the first movie. The cartoons were more than enough for that.

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  10 месяцев назад

I haven't never been able to find the live action show, so I can't comment on it's quality, but you're right that a cartoon series would have a better capacity to handle a 30 minute episode featuring time traveling phone booths. I think it was a plea to cash in on older viewers who aren't getting up at 8am to watch Bill and Ted on Saturday mornings.

Speaking about forgotten cartoons I have one it was called Nutria Ventures (I hope I spelled that right), it aired on qubo, qubo was like pbs kids but none of the shows were educational, and the only thing they really had in common was that they were free to watch.
Nutria Ventures was about this boy and his friends trying to defeat the main bad guy of the show Alex Grand, but they have to collect (I think it was like a badge) from the leaders of the 7 main food groups, this show was so great and I loved it as a kid, but I remember two things that might be interesting, 1 when the show was first starting airing they showed the Brown Kingdom and all of there epsiodes, but when they had reruns all the epsiodes didn't appear, my theory is that since the Brown Kingdom theme was the wild west and their were Native Americans who were (at least in the first couple epsiodes) portrayed as the enemies and were all red, it's obvious why they would skip the Brown Kingdom, 2, when I was watching it for the first time and they finally got to the last Kingdom, I was so excited, especially after so many interesting storylines, but the finally that's where it got interesting, I can't really remember to much of the details, but they meet up with the leader, bit than aliens show up (it made sense in the story), and abduct two of the characters, but another character tells everyone else not to save them because they have a diffrent journey to go on, so obviously I tuned in for the next episode, but it never showed up, I don't know if they made the final epsiode or if this was for season 2 or even if my station just never aired it, but I was so pissed, but I do think a Mexican station did get the epsiode, I'm not to sure, but please if you want talk about this show it was so good (Although they do make alot of jokes that didn't age well, but the story is where it really shines), if you don't want to talk about this it's OK, keep doing you, I love your videos and I hope you have a great day 😄

Funny enough when it comes to the tv series my cousins husband has a friend who worked on season 2 of this show b/c he worked at Dic between 1990-92, I think according to a interview my cousin showed me of him it was Dic deciding not to cast to original actors for the roles, not the actors saying no. Not long after this show ended he left Dic to work on Beavis and Butthead, The Tom Green Show, more live action stuff, and even some more animated things.

Bill and Ted had a cartoon series? I found out that they had a movie where they were time-travelers, but I never knew they had a cartoon series. It's just like I didn't know The Beatles, the Jackson 5, and the Osmonds had a cartoon series *(The only cartoon series I saw was The Beatles cartoon)* .
If only Queen and The Rolling Stones had a cartoon series.

Really?! I knew the Beatles had Yellow Submarine where it was animated, but I didn’t realize there was a whole series too. And I had no clue about The Jackson 5 or The Osmonds.

@@TheFangirlWatches Really. The Beatles cartoon ran for three seasons from September 25th 1965, to October 27th 1967. The episodes are named after their songs and the voice actors for the Fab Four are Paul Frees as Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, and Lance Percival as John Lennon and George Harrison. It's a good watch and they have very funny little sing-along segments where Ringo is the substitute propman. I've seen their Yellow Submarine animated movie as well, I even have the plushies of The Beatles too.
The Osmonds and the Jackson Five cartoon series started in the 70s and only ran for one season.

One singular plot I recall of top of head. Literally the only one, despite watching the original run on Saturday mornings, and the eventual re-airing on The Sci-Fi network, before it was Sify.
Ted lost a library book back in elementary school, and only now are the fines coming back to bite him in the butt, so, they jump back in time to find The Brothers Grimm to get an original copy of their book of fairy tales.

Solving the most mundane problems with a potential reality-ending time machine! lol
The only segment I clearly remember is when they let some young ladies come with them to the present, and they let them go shopping alone and Bill says something about her miniskirt being attractive.- it was so weird to me even then!

@@TheFangirlWatches Sadly, this may confirm the cartoon was not particularly memorable, and may have left little impact on the viewers.
