    Great video my friend clear and concise….
    I get blue smoke on my Mk1 Audi TT 180 Quattro, it’s sits for a long time as it’s been a project car, I don’t get blue smoke on start up but as the engine warms and when I blip the throttle I then get blue smoke but I also get some blue smoke from the left rear of the engine bay! I’ve changed the rocker cover gaskets and the pcv system but still persist with blue smoke it’s definitely got a leak that’s burning off on the exhaust possibly? Any help would be appreciated I’ve looked underneath but cannot see any oil neither is it loosing oil. 20V 1.8T.
    Could the Intercooler have a lot of oil in it?
    Thanks

    This has been happening on my mk7 gli.
    If I leave it over night and then cold start it there’s no smoke but after turn off the engine and then on like 30 minutes later I turn it on again smoke will come out for like 5 seconds. Could this be a valve seal problem?

    I have a 2016 jetta 1.8t replaced the pcv oil separator and it still burns oil , once i start it does have smoke when it comes out white modtly them it goes away, its cold now so its more might have a blue tint, do you think its bad stems valves or piston rings

    i've done leakdown and compression tests, numbers are good. Coolant Combustion gas sniffer test, no gasses in coolant. PCV valve replaced. I'm having a lot of white smoke (definitely smells like oil) and does not go away, i'm thinking it might be bad valve seals. Anything else i should check for before i tear apart the cylinder heads? for a 1996 LS400.

      I'd say you went down the checklist and the valve seals would be the next option, if that doesn't work then it most likely is the piston rings or somewhere along the piston itself, both would suck to replace, but do-able 👌🏻 good luck

    Hey, I have a 2006 mazda 6 mps AKA mazdaspeed 6. My car burns a bit of oil and it blows blue smoke on deceleration when you tap the throttle. It rarely ever smokes on startup and compression and leakdown test results are good. What could cause something like this?

    If i have a bad valve stem seal would all my plugs have oil on them? I only have one that has oil on the threads everytime i take it out. It is the first one.

    • @Top5AutoRepairs
      @Top5AutoRepairs  Год назад

      It's possible to have one or more valve stems. It depends. If there is oil on the thread this due to bad valve stem seal, worn piston rings or cylinder wall. Oil is finding its way into the combustion chamber.

    Quick question, been working on my daughters 2011 Kia Sorento for quite awhile, symptoms were low power, poor acceleration and some funky shifting. Compression checked good, fuel pressure checked good, spark plugs had been recently changed, cat converter is only like 2-3 yrs old but checked back pressure anyway, was a acceptable number (turns out I should have investigated that more in depth), no codes being generated. So started looking at transmission, particularly the torque converter, pulled transmission and put in new torque converter, got it back together, same symptoms. Even though I dont have a lot of faith in most shops/dealers took it into dealer, they checked same things I did, drove it and said needed new transmission. Long story short have replaced torque converter then put in different transmission still had same problem, back to rechecking everything and upon a more in depth check of catalytic converter it showed signs of being bad, ordered one from Ebay, installed it and same problem (does have two cat converters but pretty sure 2nd one is okay), 99% sure this cat converter from Ebay is either defective or not working on this for some reason, have ordered another catalytic converter, not from Ebay, and am waiting for it. Here's my question, both O2 sensors I believe are the original which means they have high miles on them, coukd they be causing problems even though not getting any engine codes, the only thing seems out of order is that Long Term Fuel Trim goes negative if rpm's go up and stays negative and only drops if car drops back to idle ?

      I have a 2017 elantra se with the 2.0. Transmission started jerking, took it to the mechanic and I was told it was the transmission. No lights or anything. I kept running it for about 20k miles. Check engine light came on with misfire. Two sparplugs had cracks at the top or ceramic. I replaced them and car is running perfect, no transmission problems. Maybe check sparkplugs

      @@roman75236 I did get it figured out finally after about 2 months and a lot of extra work and money, nothing was helping and everything was checking out, went back and dug deeper into some things, turns out the 2nd catalytic converter was plugged.

    Im having blue smoke on my audi a4. Compression is good. Drives good. No engine codes. It throws smoke more on acceleration. Is it possible to have a bad turbo with no codes?
