I'm Mexican American and I find Mike hilarious and can take a joke when it's at the expense of Mexicans because it's obvious his main objective is to be funny/outrageous with no ulterior agenda. However, right wing comedy/entertainment is all agenda/preaching to the choir rather than being funny first and foremost. The right often accuses the left of virtue signaling when all the right does is pander because they know their base will hand over all their money if you tell them exactly what they want to hear.

I think to most people, they don't mind racist or offensive humor, they mind when it seems to be talking down or belittling them. I feel like the norm cartoon almost gets this with the woke kid being shocked that Norm's friend is black. There's lots of situations where being hyper progressive will lead to stupid conclusions like members of an ethnicity should all behave the same and have the same beliefs. That could be funny, but they need to make it more a political jab like "who's the real RACIST in this situation???" It's literally wokescolding but for a different team. They can't let the joke land because they need to intercept it with a heat-seeking aim-9L "own the libs" missile every single time. It's why King of the Hill will be more effective portrayal of conservatives in a positive light until these fucks can figure it out.

There's always been mountains of trash being produced as entertainment. I guess social media has increased it but if I had to go back to the 80s I'd do myself in. If you're younger than 40 you have no idea how bad it was back then. TV was utterly unwatchable 95% of the time by today's standards. If you were lucky you rented a couple of videos per week which were usually awful.
