My 1999 interview with Tonight Show's Ed McMahon. We talked about the mini-reunion he had with Johnny Carson, the gesture he made towards Joan Rivers concerning the famous talk show feud, what he thought of Phil Hartman's impersonation of him, and more.

A lot of people wanted Johnny to return to TV. But, as Ed said, Johnny made his mark in TV, he left a wonderful legacy, and he went out on top. Ed seemed like a classy guy and I never heard anyone say a bad thing about him. The #1 second banana of all time!

Ed was the definition and example of American male class. Ed was so classy that when he got in a Cadillac he made the Cadillac the Cadillac didn't make him.

Always seemed like a really nice man. Yet, kudos to Phil Hartman's impersonation that suggested some malevolence, and John Candy's unctuous "William B. Williams" on SCTV.

No way the interview was on 1999. Hartman was murdered by his wife in 1998.
