Hello, I hope you can help me. My mother who is 88 years old . She still drives and does for herself. She has a 2005 Honda Olyssey Touring. It does not have a navigational system in the car just the stock radio and CD PLAYER. . So I purchased one off EBAY . It came with the DVD player in it. The screen goes back and the DVD PLAYER is behind it. My question is is there anything other than the GPS antenna that I need to purchase to install install this unit and it works. My son through that I I nly had to pull this one out and plug this one in plus the GPS antenna.
retrofitting a navigation and a rear dvd player is not as simple as plug and play unfortunately. I have read and done some research into this system and it requires a harness that will connect from the front head unit to the back player for connectivity. You will also need any harness(es) that your odyssey does not have and requires for it to function. Some have done the retrofit but its not as simple as it seems and the cost of the harnesses required are not cheap either. Do a google search and you may find a how-to. My honest opinion is to go aftermaret for a navigation head unit and either headrest monitors for the back or aftermarket dvd player. I will be easier to install, cost you less, and be up-to-date because the oem navigation system are limited to updates and functions that are standard in most headunits now.
Oct 13th, 2020 ( Hi.. where can I buy everything I need to install the same system that you just install... ( i have a... 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L ) ( the Jensen ... look so easy to install than the original Honda navigation system )

If you have any other questions let me know
olle que estereo es y que ano es la honda odyssey
+fernando rosario - es del 2005. El estereo es un Jensen, pero no me acuerdo del modelo.
I dont bother buying anything like this to install. I think ita just a waste of money. I used my phone for navigation. I personally like using the stock radio in any car now
Im different, I like having a unit like this. Using a bigger screen to follow and view is safer IMO. Just a matter of prefference.
