It's the same with vitamin A. My DNA tests show that I cannot digest vitamin A from plant sources; in fact, it's toxic to me. By contrast, I can digest vitamin A from animal products (fish, fish oil). The problem is that the medical profession is telling people that animal products are bad and plant products are good, but that is not true.

There is speculation that the anti-oxidant properties of vitamin E may help cancer growth, so a weaker form of it might be beneficial. The ATBC Cancer Prevention Study in Finland has used alpha-tocopherol and showed benefits of this form of vitamin E.

One of the problems with the modern studies is 99% of them compare supplements to placebo, when they should have three groups #1 Supplements, #2 Placebo and #3 Organic Natural Sources of what the Supplement comes from.
The same with Prescription Medication, compare say #1 A proper diet, balanced average exercise regimen and BP Meds vs #2 A proper diet and Vit D3, Vit K2, Magnesium Chelated, Zinc Chelated, Bromelain, Bebeerine, Garlic oil, Quercetin vs #3 A proper diet and Vit D3, Vit K2, Magnesium Chelated, Zinc Chelated, Bromelain, Bebeerine, Garlic oil, Quercetin AND BP meds. I am quite sure #3 group would do best. This is the path I chose, and it has helped greatly.
Now I am also weeding out foods that cause negative effects.
Canned chicken had to go, in favor of fresh cooked chicken at home.
No more eating deep fried anything at restaurants.
I can still eat canned Fruit Cocktail, but In Heavy Syrup had to go, in favor of No Sugar Added or in 100% Fruit Juice or Fresh Organic cut up the fruit myself.
I still take supplements, but I make sure they are in the correct (synergistic) combination of individual supplements that are not super doses.
I also make sure they are the best type for the need. Like the better B12 and the better Niacin and the correct Magnesium and correct Vit E and correct Vit D.
I also do not take all the same vitamins or supplements every day.
I may skip Vit E every other day and take copper once a week and rotate out different types of Magnesium.
I may also skip a few days of some of the B Vitamins based on what I am eating.
I do not take Vit A, I drink Carrot Juice or eat Carrots.
I do not take Melatonin; I eat Cherries or Bell Peppers as they are natural sources of Melatonin.
I actually eat berries like supplements.
Sometimes I only 3 to 5 blueberries, but three times a day. Then later I eat 2 to 3 blackberries and a strawberry.
Organic when I can get them.
I rotate between black grapes and red grapes and eat a few here and there throughout the day.
I try to eat some things as if I am a nomad gatherer walking along and finding them to eat as I go, but not shoving down a lot of them.
I used to have this issue when I would reach up, my nerve in my arm would act like I hit my funny bone as it were), but after nibbling on blackberries and blueberries throughout the day, in a few weeks it starts going away and by the years end it was gone from my arm.
The cells repaired whatever was going on and I suspect the berries gave them the recourses to do the repairs over time. Cells are tiny so they do take time to fix things, but they built us, so if they have what they need (correct resources) to repair their Habitat (which is what we are for them) and they have directions (they do), they will fix most issues as best they can.

Can anyone in America find an actual vitamin manufacturer in the US. Because everything I read says 90% of the bulk vitamin powders are made in China and shipped to the US. Here the powders are packaged by individual brands. Oh yes each one of them say their brand is "pur" and " superior". If I am wrong on this please provide the name of a vitamin manufacturer and their address.

@@sammavitae114 I agree with your point. I sometimes try to buy supplements from certain countries in Europe, because of their laws requiring certain things be made a certain way. Then I wonder if they are repackaged from halfway around the world.
I do the same with my coffee. Decaffeinated Coffee made with the Swiss Water method or Co2 method are the best as they use no chemicals.
I actually found Organic Coffee that was Decaffeinated with chemicals that cause damage to the nervous system and infertility.
What good is Organic Coffee Beans grown without pesticides and then use extreme life-threatening chemicals to Decaffeinate the coffee and still sell it as Organic.

high does niacin does not lead higher rates of cvd that's a lie, meta analysis shows no improvement with cvd when compared to statins, and slight improvement with secondary outcomes like stroke when used as a mono therapy, but not additional improvement with statins. Talk about miss information, also niacin lowers CETP gene translation by 50%, that leads to an increase of hdl. Hdl has no effects on cvd, but also leads to an increase of apoa-l which is beneficial against ceremide accumulation.

The main problem in the supplement world is the misuse and misinterpretation/representation of clinical research data by individuals and companies who want to make a quick dollar. A good example is the story of N-acetylcysteine (NAC). All the clinical research using NAC as a supplement in humans was done in my lab starting in the early 1990's in patients who had a known deficiency in Glutathione (GSH), the most important cellular anti-oxidant/detoxicant in the body. The patients I targeted in chronological order were those with HIV/AIDS, severe malnutrition, diabetes and the elderly. Every group had one thing in common, a deficiency in the amino acid Cysteine, which is rate limiting for the synthesis of GSH. After establishing that these patients were not synthesizing sufficient GSH, I supplemented them with cysteine in the form of NAC and every group had a massive response in GSH rate of synthesis with normalization of cellular GSH in 2 weeks. So NAC is meant to be a therapeutic supplement only for individuals with a deficiency of cysteine. It is not meant for healthy individuals consuming an adequate diet. As a matter of fact it can be toxic to healthy individuals as excess sulfur amino acids (cysteine + methionine) are known to be toxic and can even cause death.

@@tumdedum at 39 minutes when he says Amino Acids/collagen doesn't affect life span!!! ...yeah, I know people whose lives were SAVED from depression/suicide and heart failure by increasing the Amino Acids profile they were taking by getting HYDROLYZED collagen and adding Tryptophan Amino Acid and alternating when through out the day that they would take it WITH leucine, valine and iso-leucine which SIGNAL to BUILD muscle protein specifically (without them many other things benefit but NOT muscle so you can focus the repair /resources to certain activities by what is included or excluded..
Tryptophan is necessary to complete the necessary Amino acid profile of hydrolyzed collagen so that you have all the Amino Acids necessary to build "protein" in general.

havent been replicated? Resveratrol has extended the lifespan of half a dozen species including vertebrates and mammals. And the last word was it needs the presence of certain aminos to activate sirtuins, these aminos replicate the fluorescent dye artifact that seemed necessary originally. More recently its been replicated with amino acid leucine and resveratrol.

There are a lot of different supplements that benefit different groups of people based on various genetic characteristics as well. So if you just conduct blind studies without taking that into account you won't get the full picture. There are genetic tests you can do to determine what types of supplements you might benefit from.
