The phono preamplifier isn't linear (RIAA equalization). Should the purists make it linear, or it doesn't really matter?

Good point! I forgot that when I observed it was unusually susceptible to mains hum pick up. However fiddling with the bass control almost eliminated it.

you'd have to add audio & rf phase shift stages.
