I wouldn't say this is hard Metal not even sure it can be called Metal at all but then again Metal is the only genre I listen to so maybe because I'm used to like Lorna Shore, Slaughter To Prevail, Infant Annihilator, Suicide Silence, that kind of Deathcore super heavy stuff maybe I just forgot that soft Metal is still heavy to those not used to the style of music? I don't know to me this was more electronic with some Punk style screams doesn't sound very Metal to me
This is more 'Soft Metal', I feel. More electronic with metal elements. Then again, I can't fault you, you said you're not a hard metal music lover, so I won't expect you to differentiate or give you a hard time. Definitely more hard rock than metal I believe, explains why you like it. I like metal but not screamo. However vocalists who scream can be great. System of a Down and Tool are two prime examples, if any non metal fan will learn to like metal it is through them for sure. Voices of an angel. Tool's singer is known to be one of the best vocalists in all of rock.
