The biggest drag is air resistance. If they lay flatter on the straights it would make them much faster than rocking back and forward. It looks like a blast though. I'd love to do it.
I completely agree with you in that the rocking back and forth does absolutely nothing other than maybe it providing a placebo effect. Also, I agree that at between 40 and 53 mph, the biggest drag is air resistance. But i also wonder if these guys could get faster times if they learned how to pick each curve's apex and carve those corners correctly. I would love to build one of these racers and take it down to Ecuador and try my luck. I could learn a lot from these guys. I was in Ecuador back in the 1990s and I saw people everywhere building down hill gravity vehicles from old planks or ironing boards. They would use them just to go from home, up on the mountain top, to the grocery store down in the cordillera. Then they would just haul all the groceries and the cart back up on a bus. So, obviously, these people have got LOTS of experience. I wouldn't even consider showing up with the idea of teaching these guys how to race. I'd probably get my ass handed to me. LOL
1, rocking back and forth does nothing. 2 if the wind is in your face get lower. 3, cutting corners real close scrubs off speed. 4, when someone passes you they have a better line, so get behind them, and copy them .5, if drafting is legal, do it, but don't pass. Give them a bump and stay behind, that will help you both go faster.
If you stay right behind a car you will get in slipstream. Wich makes you mush faster. Thats why the others are leaving you. In this sport slipstream is everything

Los asustaste tanto con tu bocinita que aceleraron y te dejaron solito en el fondo, amigo. Capaz la próxima elimina ese peso inútil que significa la bocina y concentrate más en ir más rápido.

No los he visto en otros coches. ¿Tal vez sea el sistema de luces de freno, como el que tienes delante?
i dont think that swinging back and and forth has any effect (except in ultra low speed, where you need to overcome the initial friction). The forces simply balance each other out
@@biketech60 That's not what he's talking about. They're doing what's called bobbing. That's how bobsledding got it's name. It's when the move forward and back together repetitively. It may feel like it helps because it momentarily causes the cart to speed up, but then it also then causes it to to slow just as much in succession. You are correct though that if they were to recline it would decrease their resistance and increase their speed.

HINT ….keep your foot off the brakes later and get off earlier, learn what an apex is, use all the road and for $hit sakes get ride of that fing horn. I’m surprised nobody is waiting for you at the bottom.
Slowish start and poor carving allowed 2 to pass at 2:37 and another at 7:05. Carve the apex and dont brake so hard for the big bends. Those karts will take more speed if you use the full width of the the road in and out of the corner.

You show great intent then ruin it by: Slow start, Playing with your magic button, going into bend good on some occassions but bad on most, you lose much to much speed by braking as often as you do, you need to slipstream much more and finally when you are getting down as low as you can you co driver is sitting up doing to push forward motion??? I think you had the speed to be top 4 at least. You need to watch F1 racing. That will show you the correct lines to take. Keep it up.

The importance of aerodynamics increases with the speed . The passenger leaning back reduces his profile as a sail catching the wind .
