Full lightning is great, what you wanna do is think of lightning as a hybrid school, you use it in tandem with weapons more than other schools, try it with fast attacking weapons like slashers, drop a lightning orb and veil in, the orb applies static as you proc it over and over and over again. Its why The Thousand Storms Q is so awesome! (Each stab of Q applies and consumes the previous static charge). If you want a more “mage” like build, lightning isnt the school, the grim drac armor set was built for lightning. Lightning is essentially battle mage, its built for melee combatants (mobility, projectile shield wall, spells that focus on position, ideally while in melee range)
@@UnknownDarkness47I’m glad I could shed some light on it, I hope you’ll consider the storm school with this in mind, it feels much better to play with this playstyle, everything storm leans into suggests as much (attack speed on amulets/armor, drac grim armor is gold and blue, thematic, given it gives att speed, phys power and spell power). After realising this, I took a look at the spells and found that, once again, it feels like this is what its intended for, just look at discharge and lightning curtain as prime examples, without jewels, discharge stuns melee attackers and pulls in ranged attackers, also the storm shields circle you, damaging anything that is close! Lightning curtain blocks all projectiles, punishing enemies that advance on you through it with static and damage, but applying haste to you and allies should you want to advance on them. Taking a look at the other storm spells, they make sense when you consider them from a battlemage perspective, like cyclone returning to you (meaning you can reposition and itll still hit enemies on you). Static also triggers magic damage off of physical damage, so as before, the grim drac set (or even just grim knight) makes perfect sense buffing both of these attributes simultaneously.
Yes this is incredible and I love it. I don't know why I just naturally gravitate towards ice magic in most games but in v rising if you pull it off, it's super satisfying
i just got the hand of winter and experimenting with builds. some of my tactics 2 try: lance (freeze) to crushing blow then switch to ( your choice) long range weapon and dash away. switch when lance comes back
As a experienced pvper with a good understanding of every spell in the game, i'd say this build is actually pretty good, but for bosses like styx who have an insane amount attacks like on that spin move where he says "this is true blood mastery" or "I server the legion of noctum", if you walk up right next to him, you'll actually see about 400 dmg consistently with frost barrier, I'll have to test if that's with buffs ofc, but still, its very good damage and makes the whole thing way easier. Another idea is to mix lance with void, which is a personal favorite of mine. I typically run full rogue with shadow armor and warlock amulet which gives you a decent spell crit chance, and the spells are veil of chaos, crystal lance, void, and artic leap, its amazing for team fights pvp wise, and can do pretty good in pve, however, if your wanting more dmg maybe nova or something like that if you want to stick with frost, buttt mixing spell trees is just too good to ignore. You can also use a longbow with frost infusion. it'd go like this, longbow q, then either ice nova or lance, and then you can use an e skill, like axe e. i can explain more if anyone is interested.
Nice clip, but, did you ever re-cast that frost nova at all?, all i see is you casting it once then let the "recast" text run out XD. Cuz, like you say, first time you cast it, it will chill the enemies, if you recast it right after, the next hit will freeze them. Can also just be used on 2 group of mobs, a big group for the first cast, then 1-2 extra mobs outside the circle for the second cast if anything.
Nice build, but I think ice bat would be better in place of ice lance. It has faster cast time, 2 charges, has good damage (got buffed last patch) and with jewels it can be turned into decent aoe
its good with 2 corrupted skulls or other multi charge skill so you can blast a lot, but with the hand of winter you need to freeze quick and lance is better for that.
Patiently waiting for builds based on Weapons.

I like this explanation a lot actually!

Lightning ball with pistols is also great imo

No Doubt, I've been an Ice mage in WoW and Diablo. There's just something about it

The poor Bear at 7:00 XD
Looks fun. Will try this build tonight 👍
Once you double cast Crystal Lance it'll be hard to go back!
@@UnknownDarkness47 yea, that's kinda what sold me on the build. 😄
Already tried your necro build and had a blast!
Ball Lighning with the recast jewel is fckngg niceee

Ya know I probably missed it during recording lol. I definitely did it during practice sessions and ruins of mortium grinding 😄
Which of your three builds do you think has the highest damage to the shard bosses?
I think in just raw damage probably chaos

Might have to give it another try

Gotta Castlevania music hmmm Curse of Darkness??
You know it!
@@UnknownDarkness47 Been a Castlevania fan since Nes era, Rondo of Blood is my favorite vania.
Castlevania 64 holds a special place in my childhood. Even though it's wildly different than the rest of the franchise
