I think what a lot of people forget is that this was a representation of what Taylor went thru when she was only 20 (she turned 21 after the breakup):in her first serious relationship with someone nearly a decade older, that she thought was her dream person, naively gave her innocence to, fell in love with but he never said be loved her, plus he gaslit & manipulated her, then broke it off using her age as the excuse. Instead of writing a book, as in the movie, she wrote Red. It's not just a song, it represents an actual persons experience & is heartbreaking. She did a fantastic job with this short film, & put in great Easter eggs to let us know that 1989 will probably be the next album rerecorded! Great reaction, Tuto!

Not sure if you caught these during the film. Obviously we know they dated when Taylor was 20. Jake was 29.
That’s why in the argument scene, she says “theyre all older than me”. Something I caught on, in the scene with his friends eating and drinking, everyone’s wine was almost done while hers wasn’t even touched. We see her drinking ONLY when they are alone until that the scene 8:40 where her character fads into the background. She’s in a crowd where she doesn’t fit in and no one cares about her. So who cares if she drinks. Also she sings, you kept me like a secret, which make me think he never told anyone she was his girlfriend but just as a friend to where again, no thought about her. Just a thought. Idk if you caught that.

Some people just talk like that. I have a friend who will tell you you are crazy if you think a different team will win a game then him. It doesn't mean he is actually trying to convince you that you are insane or crazy.
Amateur psychologists throw that diagnosis out and most times it is not accurate. They have to be trying to convince you to question your sanity. I didn't get that from this scene. But he should have been more respectful of her POV.
