    I would like to have seen you try the 70D in C4FM mode to see if the counter could read it. I have an old radio Shack Frequency Counter that is suppose to only detect analog signals but it does detect signals from my NXDN radio, but not DMR radio.

      Thanks. It’s far better than I actually thought it would be. I tried it on a different radio and it also will show you what tone is being transmitted as well. I’m impressed. Thanks for watching.

    Hi Greg, thanks for your video!
    2 questions:
    What’s the effective distance?
    and would it work better with a different antenna?

    • @gregmve6gcm
      @gregmve6gcm  3 года назад +1

      I’m not sure what the distance would be, I have only used it at close range. I would think a gain antenna would certainly increase the range. Hope this helps.

    Greg, Just joined your channel. I gather this counter is good for use with military radio as well? 6m band and lower. Ian

      It says the coverage is 2Mhz to 2.8 GHz. So if it falls between there you should be good. Thanks for subscribing and watching!! 73 from VE6GCM.

    Cool vid and device! Would this help to align SSB on a radio?

    • @gregmve6gcm
      @gregmve6gcm  2 года назад +1

      I guess you could use it, although it’s not ideal. But you can probably get pretty close with it. Thanks for watching!!

      @@gregmve6gcm Thanks for the reply!! I wanted to get closer to frequency. My voice is a little high on SSB.

    Were you running any wifi or have any cellphones nearby while doing this test?

      Yes, just a few feet from me was a wifi extender, as well I was filming with an iPhone and had my personal iPhone right on the desk.

    Does this give the frequency you are receiving while listening or only on transmit?

    • @gregmve6gcm
      @gregmve6gcm  3 года назад +1

      It will only pick up the signal being transmitted.
