I can't believe how awesome this homemade pitching mound turned out. Well, I guess I shouldn't call it a homemade pitching mound because it wasn't made at my home but I had the intentions of building a diy portable pitcher's mound. I even bought all the materials for this diy pitching mound but then never did anything with it! But then this guy Brock hit me up on Facebook and he had his own diy portable pitching mound that he makes and sells and he even has a few different versions and sizes like a diy youth pitching mound that he calls the Portable pitching mound for youth baseball! He also has a 8" Intermediate Step Straight Portable Pitching Mound, a 8" Intermediate Portable Pitching Mound, a Step Straight Youth Baseball Training Aid, and what I have in this video, an X-large Adult size portable pitching mound for high school age and above! So you should definitely go check out what Brock is doing over at Player's Choice Mounds if you're trying to figure out how to make a portable pitching mound because I love this pitcher's mound. The best part about it was, I didn't have to build it! Am trying that. The thing people don’t realize, at least ones that don’t build, is even if you get the wood cut even it is still not precise. In order to build anything the measurements must be 100 percent precise.

I just watched this video thinking about making one! Now I am just going to go get it from Brock personally since he is only a couple hrs out from home KC!
I had the same plan as you John by the time I would buy the material it wasn't much cheaper than just buying this mound let alone time to cut and build it. So I bought the smaller step straight mound from Brock last spring it was one of his first he sent out. I'm really happy with it and keeps my kids from flying open. It's only like 37 pounds can fit in a car trunk he does a really good job on it I'd recommend it to anyone if you need a mound for your yard or if your practice field doesn't have a good mound. Debating on getting another one so I can streamline my pitching and catching practices

YouGoPro it works great. They were leary at first and thought they'd fall lol. But it really makes them stay straight and keep their lead foot/heel inline with their back foot/heel like you say to do.

YouGoPro plus if the carpet wears which should be the only thing to break down understandably and that's really cheap and easy to replace in no time.

nice!!! in my country baseball is not popular, so many times we have to play baseball without a mound in soccer fields or parks. this is a very good idea

Only thing I would suggest is seen the material at the bottom was bunching up. Wouldn’t hurt to glue it and staple it. Other than that it looks and functions perfectly. (He could have purposely left the material loose so it gives a little when your foot hits. He probably experimented with gluing it. I’d love to hear if he did)

What you think it’s good for agility..trying get my daughter to move to the ball a little faster
Maybe find a local speed and agility coach. We have a great one in our area that trains both youth and professional players. But some of my favorite things are the agility ladder, cone drills (pro agility), and then basic stuff like jump rope, skipping, etc.

You’ve had it about a month now. What’s your take on it? Still sturdy? I coach at a small high school with no bullpen. Think this could handle being used as a bullpen for a small high school program? Thanks for always making great content!
Still sturdy yes but to be honest I probably only have 1000 pitches on it so far. But I don’t see it breaking or anything like that anytime soon. I do plan on putting stall mat on the landing part at some point but for now it’s perfect
I see the landing foot turf sliding forward, what would you recommend to fix that so it's more durable? I'm thinking of buying one of these, but don't want a hole in it after a months use. Thanks in advance.@@YouGoPro

I appreciate the discussions regarding the need for mental focus and visualization as that's extremely important but a hard concept to grasp for a 10-year old. Thanks for doing what you do.
