- During a hard rain Festival of fantasy opening unit 80 and the beast had technical problems they had to tow a float and they also had to tow the mermaid unit and due to the heavy rain all the performers Except for Peter Pan and Ariel or up top were the only two left in the parade all the other performers had exited Mickey’s finale unit was not in this performance the finale Flo was maleficent. This is something you don’t see every day or the performers evacuate the floats on stage

Those poor actors were stuck there in the rain and kept characters the all time. Bless them! I believe Ariel and Peter Pan has had it the worst cause their floats were so high 😌
In situations like that characters can be removed from their high positions (Even when on mainstreet infront of guests), all of the characters were offered the opportunity to be safely removed and almost all accepted it except Peter and the girl playing Ariel (Because she knew it would require opening her tail to let herself out and didn't want to do so infront of guests)
that peter is just a boss. xD @@timetraveler9218
The dragon looks awesome in the rain.
4:33 I love how Rapunzel just dragging her hair through the rain like that 😂
Sometimes Somebody needs a hair Bath
I know belle dont want to take off beast tale but that is the only way to get out so proud to all of them how they handle everything ❤
Kudos to the characters that were stuck on their floats in the pouring rain for so long, but also staying completely in character. The rain must have really quickly rolled in over the Magic Kingdom after the parade already started?
Yup. Exactly what happened.
It sucks that they have to, this is not good, they should be mad that they make them do this during the rain.
I remember this day... I worked at LTT and it was sprinking to start, by the time Ariel got to us... full on downpour. All I could day was "well, least she's hydrated!" Poor kids. I'm sure most of those costumes were ruined. xD
some interesting points
- i dont know why they would even run the parade in the pouring rain in the first place, they usually would've done the rainy day parade instead
- tangled dancers leave at 0:11, little mermaid and peter pan dancers follow at 0:31
- at 0:57 ariel seems to be telling something to a cast member
- 4:21 tiana and naveen leave, anna and elsa and cinderella and prince charming are escorted off
- 4:30 rapunzel and flynn and the other tangled performers leave, [poor rapunzel's wig dragging in the puddles 😬]
- 4:40 anna and elsa leave [elsa's dress dragging in the puddles too 😬]
- 10:34 belle takes her gloves off [i guess so her hands dont slip when she gets off the float?]
- 10:47 belle removes the beast's tail [i wonder why??]
- 11:08 belle gives the tail to a cast member who puts it back on
- 14:50 definitely not intentional but the beeping on the tow truck matches the tune of the song perfectly
- poor ariel and peter stuck on top of the floats :(
- the last 2 circus floats are missing entirely
props to the performers though for keeping to the choreography as much as they could!!
The beasts take needs to be removed in order for the performer to sit and slide down the float :)
@@uravinalaff ah that makes sense
The rain started suddenly. It was a weird day.
The dragon was the last float out of backstage when the rain rolled in which is why you don't see the rest as they stopped pulling them out)
All of the characters were offered the opportunity to be taken off the floats for their safety even Peter and Ariel but they declined the offer (Ariel because she knew she would have to open her tail to get out and didn't want to do so infront of guests)
Usually they will still send a parade out even with clouds and a small chance of rain. Yeah here in Florida the weather can be unpredictable. Even when the radar says one thing, the atmosphere will do something else, especially being so close to the coast on both sides for that matter (as far as the atmosphere is concerned lol).
Also to answer your question as to why the beast tail came off, I do know his safety harness is attached at that point where his tail is, but I would assume she had to remove the tail in order for him to safely get down from the float without the tail getting caught on something on the way down.
Ha!! I was right next to you videoing also. 😂 It was a crazy afternoon.
Rapunzel’s actor’s wig was so long that it was getting dragged into the water.
These costumes probably needed a very long time to get fully dried after that day. Even I would worry about non-mascot costume characters, with that rain maybe they would've caught a cold...
Those poor parade performers 😭
Oh dear the parade has broken down in the rain
I was there. They had to take off the tail of the beast so it would not break.
Is it supposed to be canceled? And are they supposed to put on the rainy day cavalcade?
There was no rain 🌧️ when the parade started. 5-10 minutes into the parade there was a sudden downpour. Had they known they would've delayed/cancelled or just did the rainy day cavalcade.
Why dont they have in-character umbrellas??
Nice day for a parade don't you think 🌧☂️😆
Who didn’t look at the Doppler radar before starting the parade? It’s literally free, and tells you when clouds/rain is coming near you within the hour I think. We use it in our location & it great for predicting rain, specially here in Florida where it could happen very fast.
they probably did and it probably showed clear
it was literally fine. i was working that day. and then BOOM. downpour. that time of year is VERY unpredictable. Though it was almost clockwork at between 2 and 4 everyday. lol
When did Tinkerbell sneak off?
Looks like the emergency towhitch didn't wanna cooperate lol...Hence the straps....And those poor maintenance guys, laying down on the wet pavement to get the connections made..
honestly, at the point, everyone is already soaked, so it was just like ah f it
also, they were going to use the strap anyway, they just found another spot to attach it to
I hope Pinocchio was alright.
they were able to stop those floats from even going out. Mal was already out before the rain hit.
2022 hasn't been kind to WDW at all
I can't believe the supervisor made the decision to role during the rain.. that would never have happened when I was I. Entertainment
i watched it happen live, when the parade started it was a clear sky and then the rain came about 3 mins into the parade and once a float is prepped to be rolled out you can’t really stop it. They cut the parade off after the dragon because they could get that last half to stop before getting in a place where it’d be dangerous to stop.
Too bad they should've concede the entire parade when the rains come in at the time.
If you're not used to Florida weather, it's very unpredictable. The sky was clear when the parade happened then 5 minutes later down pour. The rest of the parade backed out but a couple floats already was in the middle.
florida weather is unpredictable, and once a parade float as started its route, it has to keep going as its dangerous to go backwards on a float
why they ebacuate and Switch Off all floats?
they didnt switch all floats off. the first one broke down, my guess is the engine got flooded, and the other floats got back logged and another float broke down as well. they evacuated them as it was pouring heavily so they didn't want the actors on the floats as they could slip and their costumes could get ruined.
@@CPA0908 These floats don't have "engines". They are driven with electrical motors, and are designed to withstand water.
There’s alot of people not wearing ponchos i wonder why is it the heat?
Apparently it was sunny and then the rain came out of nowhere

Terrible. How can Disney do this. I would ask for refund.
Drloreptforutfip
I would ask for refund. This is not good.
A refund? For what? Not only does Disney repeatedly clearly state "all entertainment is subject to change without notice," but also the parade is just 1 thing in the entire day. not to mention the fact that all of the performers did a wonderful job, stayed in character, and everyone I saw videoed behaved extremely professionally. Florida weather is unpredictable and technical glitches happen, especially when there is unexpected water. And if they had cancelled the parade or run the rainy day parade due to weather, people like you would still be whining if it didn't rain "enough" or saying the parade "could have made it before the rain." And clearly a crowd was kept enthralled and the situation was interesting enough to make a video that both of us watched.
"entertainment is subject to change without notice" check ur tickets
@@jenuwine6306 I would argue that I didn't see it on the ticket, because it's such in small font. This is a disgrace, how can Disney alllow it to rain during the parade, makes no sense at all.
@@jukio02 parade will generally go out in light rain with some modifications for safety. However Florida is notorious for cells popping up when it’s too late to change course unfortunately so there’s not much they can do when it’s already in the park. It’s normally about 30 minutes for a parade to traverse the entire route and fl weather can throw a TON of curveballs in that time.
@@jenuwine6306 Fine, but I would still be mad.
