I wished Andrea Evans as Tina one life to live had won! She really was Soo good in that role 👏
How cute were Jerry Ver Dorn's and Lisa Brown's boys! That was sweet.

You can see that people loved Julianne Moore's character by the reaction of the audience when they said she was the winner.
I wish Lisa Brown would have won. She deserved it for GL's Nola and ATWT's Iva.

How did Lisa Brown not win the emmy. This scene where Lily finds out the truth is so heartbreaking and Lisa;s performance was so heartbreaking. And how cool to see a scene with the amazing William Fichtner

I didn't even notice William Fichtner in 13:00. He's a good actor who was in tons of movies (Contact) and the show Invasion a while back. He was recently in the show MOM.

Ellen wheeler deserved this for the character of Cindy Parker. Stuart and Cindy were one of the best story’s all my children ever did
Wow, this must have been on CBS. Bloated number of CBS presenters... only 2 apiece from the "big" ABC soaps and NADA from "Ryan's Hope" or "Loving". Nice. Just... nice.

Its cool that Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans presented Billy with his award not only because they are on the same soap or because he and Mary Beth play brother and sister but because they were the first people he had scenes with when he came onto Days of our Lives
Back then with an overrun of soap operas there was less interest on talk shows and other programming during the daytime even though they got their own categories as well It just wasn't the meat and potatoes of the award show.
Lisa Brown should have one the Outstanding Supporting Actress Award...just my humble opinion.
I wished Susan Lucci would have won but, since Ryan's Hope was cancelled just a few months later I'm glad Helen Gallagher got her last chance to win. I'm also glad the All My Children writers we're there despite being on strike. I was also glad Erika Slezak did not win. Also how did Marcy Walker get nominated in the lead actress when 3 of the actress's in the younger category were older than she was Julianne Moore was 2 years older, Andrea Evans was 30 and Lauren holly was the same age. She should have been in that category
I didn't watch Santa Barbara, but it was my understanding that Marcy Walker's character was literally one of the central, if not THE central character on the show, since it's beginning. That probably factored in her being nominated in the lead actress category.
@@marcusj4641 this is why they need to drop the younger acting category and nominate actors for lead or supporting. Prime time Emmys has no age restrictions for stars. Still Walker should have been nominated in younger. Its called younger leading actor or actress
That's the only actress Erika could really lose to. Her and Judith Light. Helen hadn't been nominated since JL won. Her loss to Heather Tom was biased big time because there was no last round of judging.
Ok here's what I don't get. The only soaps that made it offshore to other countries were bold and the beautiful, young and the restless and days of our lives. I'm from New Zealand. We never heard of or seen the other soaps and yet they won all the emmys.
It's likely a rights issue that keeps most soaps from getting exported. Since Sony owns DAYS and Y&R and Bold is owned by the Bell Family, they are the ones that get exported easily. I don't think I heard of the soap operas on ABC getting exported successfully.
What was that bit in the beginning? Ugh. Also, why did you edit out a lot of the other awards/winners? It would be nice to see all of the nominees and winners intact.

Why could Justin Deas not be bothered to show up to these award shows? This is the third video I've seen where he won but wasn't there.
He went to the 1994 daytime emmys and gave an acceptance speech when he won. I believe that's the only one he went to. Been trying to find that on RUclips but haven't been able to track it down.
As much as I like David Canary, when Stephen Nichols didn't win, I knew these awards were meaningless. I thought/think Stephen Nichols is the BEST actor, daytime or nighttime. His acting is so different, so raw, and far and away a cut above the rest. My opinion.
Lol Stephen Nichols is good at playing hero but no he is not in the same conversation as David Canary, a three time Emmy winner. When Nichols was on GH at a time they were killing it at the Emmys he never got nominated.

Kathryn Hays should have several Emmys and dozens of nominations - sigh - never nominated ): Larry Bryggman and Scott DeFreitas sould have won this year, and ATWT was much better - more consistent - than Santa Barbara. Still these are fun to watch, esp. the clips! Wish Julianne Moore was there though.
Brygman won the previous year. Also, I don't think saying kiddo is going to appeal to voters.

They say that was always Lucci’s downfall. She submitted terrible reels!
This is when soaps were big and people cared about the daytime emmy's. David Canary, Erika Slezak, Kim Zimmer, Elizabeth Hubbard, Larry Brygman, were some of the icons of acting. And yes who could forget the biggest loser ever Susan Lucci. She looked in so much pain throughout. The pressure; the shame and knowing people were watching here seemed to strain the poor girl. But she did look good at leaslt.
