    All right, let's do this one last time. My name is The HollyHobs. I was bitten by a radioactive beatle, and for three years I've been the one and only Beatle-Man. I'm pretty sure you know the rest. Enjoy the video!

      We agree to disagree Thomas Just. George’s genius could be seen in his magnificent guitar playing. You can see it in a great number of works he created. Songs such a Something, Here comes the sun etc. He hated fame and all that went with it.

    •  4 года назад +1

      @ Tom Reedy
      Somehow you are completely missing the point. Above it states George “ Hated fame and everything that came with it.” Google Friar Park”!The bro gothic 120 room mansion on 62 acres is bigger than Notre Dame for Christ’s sake. He OBVIOUSLY did NOT “ HATE EVERYTHING THAT CAME”.. with fame.
      He had a million dollar racing car.
      He had countless sexual conquests even while married. He funded a MONTE PYTHON movie. These things came WITH FAME. I personally don’t give a damn but for the record he certainly had no problem enjoying himself. You know who hated fame and everything that came with it! Jim Morrison. Never purchased a car. Not a house. He sat anonymously in bars and got wasted and generally ended up getting his ass kicked by someone who hadn’t a clue who he was. He died in a Paris apartment the size of George’s bathroom. I am simply correcting the fallacy of “ everything that came with” FAME. I call bullshit. He lapped it up as did the other Beatles. I am a big fan. I am an even bigger fan of the TRUTH.
      Please google Friar Park and tell me he “never wanted to attract attention.”
      It’s like Disney World on the THAMES.
      Has nothing to do with liking. I love the Beatles. Let’s just be honest. That’s my point.

    •  4 года назад

      @ Tom Reedy
      Sorry that was meant for the other dude claiming Harrison never wanted to attract unwarranted attention etc. That’s a complete joke. My mistake to you Tom. Sorry.

    He died on my daughter's due date. My daughter arrived 2 weeks early. She is a big fan.
    It's her 18th birthday in 5 weeks time, and her request was she wanted her first drink to be in the Cavern. Her wish is my command. We have booked an airbnb that is opposite the Beatles story museum, in the docks in Liverpool. On her birthday we will go on the Magical Mystery Tour bus, which drops you off at the nearest road possible to the Cavern. We have planned it so that it will be lunchtime. Lunch will be in the restaurant opposite the club, then a drink in the club,.
    Then over the 4 days we are there she wants to go in the ferry across the Mersey, the Wheel of Liverpool (a Ferris wheel that we can see from our apartment). I want to see the Beatles statues at the waterfront, and there will be at least one visit to the Beatles store cafe. She isn't so bothered about the Beatles story itself, but her father has said he would like to go again.
    It's going to cost a pretty penny, but it will all be worth it. I am making a Beatles themed card, and she wants a memory box decorated up to put her mementos in. After a very hard year, we have the most amazing weekend to look forward to. November 15th is going to be a huge day for us.

    Around 1973 I was in a band that was recording demos at A+M Records. While we were in the lobby having a break George Harrison and Ravi Shankar with his entourage of family and musicians walked through the lobby. George Harrison asked for a light and our drummer, Anton, lit his cigarette. I was practicing jazz guitar stuff and Ravi walked up to me and asked, "Play some more of that fast stuff." It might not seem like much but we were all together acting like friends and everyone enjoining one another. For us it was a golden moment. I have the two recordings (albums) of Ravi"s music that George produced. Om Shanti.

      @aceofknaves6296 4 года назад +54

      @b phillip Implying someone is a racist, with not one shred of evidence, is way out of line. You do know that a person can not like another person just because they don't like them as a person right? You disagree with Shane about Yoko, that's fine, but let's not go making accusations of motives until such motives have been presented. To do otherwise is just wrong on all kinds of levels.

    • @shanedennis1136
      @shanedennis1136 4 года назад +13

      @b phillip the fact that your bringing race into it says alot about your character. That didnt even pop into my mind there bud. And I wasnt alive to be hounding john for finding love. And no other wives are attached to the beatles name they are just wives or ex wives Yoko was different. She was part of John's story she certainly was NOT part of any other beatles story especially Paul. They all may have found peace with Yoko and that's fine I dont disagree with that. It's the fact that yoko is attached to the Beatle name forever. Knowing John and his character he would NEVER have aloud any of that crap to go on. Im a bigger lennon fan then you so you can suck it. I can go on but I'll just leave it at that. I wont read your response so dont get all worked up buddy.

    • @aceofknaves6296
      @aceofknaves6296 4 года назад +12

      @b phillip No one said you couldn't defend her, and I said as much. You implied that anyone not liking Yoko did so because of her ethnicity. While I don't doubt that some of her detractors were racist, not all of them were or are. It's wrong, IMO, to call a person racist unless you have evidence of them being a racist. It's a horrible thing to call a person, or to imply about another person without any evidence of such. It's hateful and right up there with calling a person a derogatory name based on their race.

    *FUN FACT* Yoko admitted that before meeting John, she never heard of the Beatles and never knew them. Keep in mind, she lived in London and this was in 1965. How can anyone believe that???

      Daryl Lander I’m sure she said that just to pretend like she loved John for John and not because he was rich; a Beatle and she could control him. She’s a nasty, no talent individual.

    Two interesting things I heard in interviews of Old Clapper, At The Concert for Bangladesh, Bob Dylan was still traumatized from his being booed of the stage when he used an electric guitar, that during the intermission before he was to perform, George found him huddled in his dressing room. panicking at facing a live audience. George and Eric talked to him and calmed him so he could go out and play, and the audience ate him up they were so glad to see him. the rest is history. He wasn't even on the Bill because he was not sure he could perform. And second (really first because it happened in 1968), Clapton said he was so down, because of the problems with Cream breaking apart, that George asked him to play the lead on "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" because he (George) forgot to bring the right guitar to the session. Eric offered George his guitar but George turned him down because it wouldn't be right for him to play Eric's guitar. So Eric played lead on that song. He said that afterwards, when George was leaving, George HAD his guitar and just smiled at Clapton. And Eric was over his Cream funk.
    That was George!!

    I am privvy to an amazing “inside story.” One month before George was so viciously & senselessly attacked by the insane intruder, his wife Olivia got startled in the very same room. She became quite flustered; actually a bit of an overreaction.
    When asked why she reacted with such terror upon getting startled by the other person, Olivia responded: “You could have been *anybody* You could have been a madman carrying a knife.”
    What an eerie and prescient moment; again- in the exact same room where the break-in occurred about one month later.

    Still one of my favorite recording artist and many good ones have arrived since his death in 2001. The guy was genuine, had a heart, and was extremely gifted. Only one to reach out to longtime Beatle assistant Mal Evans when he died in the late 70s. Paid for his funeral. That's the kind of person he was.

    What I loved about George was his lack of ego, in spite of his own obvious songwriting
    genius. He was also the best guitar player in the band. He never over played, and he
    didn't have the need to "shred" his guitar licks, although he could. John and Paul had
    no choice but to look up to George when it came to guitar. I love that. If you ever hear
    John's lead guitar riffs, they're sloppy and amateur-ish, but he did ok on "Get Back".
