My 13 year old nephew has finally taking a shine to fishing. He absorbs everything you say and do. You must've been a hell of a teacher. Do you miss it? Great video and thanks as always for sharing brother!! 👍🏾👊🏾✊🏾🙂💯
I really enjoy these bait catching segments. For me ( half a world away) it's a view into the food chain where you live that is completely different to ours. The shear numbers of bait fish in your little streams is amazing. Thanks man,.
I just did a creek chub vs sucker vs Gill challenge Saturday night. Gills won 2-0-0. 38" & 41" Flatheads. I did catch my 1st Flathead on a creek chub this year.
It's always great to call your show a real fishing show, you always show the how to use and always show real fishing trips, thanks again buddy a Go Cubs!!!!!!
Catching live bait is absolutely funny, I love it. You’ve made a nice “bait box” there. I hope those baits bring you big ones, Spencer! Thanks for sharing another awesome video.
Man some days I just like fishing for bait, it's oddly relaxing and fun. On thing I do a bit different is close the barbs on those hooks, makes life much easier when catching bait fish.
@@RiverCertified I started buying barbless hooks for bait ages ago once they became available. I found that I was really beating up my bait sometimes trying to yank out a hook. Now it's about all I use, all my flies are barbless and nearly all of my general hooks are unless I am fishing to keep what I catch.
Lifes pretty sweet already...... another Spencer quote and man it is isn't it 🤠. We use treated well water with a swimming pool filter on a 275 gallon tote we cut rhe lid off of. We can keep baits healthy for a month or longer. Keep it in my sons climate controlled garage. Works great. That first little green sunfish you thru back is the size my son used last week to catch that 90 pound blue. We love them big greenies and big crick chubs too. Oh and of course bullheads. Homemade 48 quart erated bait cooler for travel. Dont have the restrictions on water down here so we put right in big minnow buckets when we get where we're going. Treat your bait good it treats you good🤯. Thats a no shitter. Great vid and keep your powder dry and your pantry stocked young man 💪😎🙏🏾
Friends of mine growing up called them Fall Fish. It's nothing to catch them 12 inches or bigger all day but usually when they're that big the trout and smallmouth I'm looking for aren't there. I used to catch big sucker's to but haven't seen a sucker in about 30 years.
Creek chub and fall fish are 2 completely different fish but yeah those fall fish get massive, some I’ve seen pics of are bigger than half the bass I catch 😂😂
I use a 10 size Aberdeen hook and corn. But ill also take a small amount of corn and throw in the hole ima fish to kinda put the creek chubs in a feeding frenzy works for me you should try it sometime
My son and I made some minnow traps out of 2 liter bottles last week. Caught quite a few creek chubs with bread. Had them in a 5 gallon bucket with aerator but the batteries died during the night and they all died. Was going to use them for bait the next day.
I've got an engal bait cooler too. I have the 19qt and I recently got a cast net I've been learning how to use. Also found out that engal has a new rechargeable air pump.
Love the sneeb edition. Have a few chub spots in ohio that is full of "chubzillas" great clean crick area that have big flatties and chans. Anyhow great vid and be safe.
I probably talk like that because I have the mind of a middle schooler. Charter season went good. About as busy as I could handle. Alabama starts up the end of Oct.
Really wish you would’ve done a “how to” video on your at home live well. I’ve been brainstorming ideas for days now. Just want something simple and small like yours
Dude you wore the schneebs out. I won't be fishing for a good while here in Erwin Tennessee as 100,000 cfs blowed up river destroyed all my fishing holes. Many Many people lost their homes and property. Some even lost their lives. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers brother. Hope you catch some giants with those schneebs 🤘✌️🎣🇺🇲
I raised in the aquarium 3 bluequills and a bullhead i caught for bait like 5 years ago no bigger than the head of my thumb and i let them go back today. Kinda bummed fr I loved willy, billy, silly and Charley. It was time. 😂
I prefer using jig heads as opposed to hooks when bait fishing... They almost never swallow the hook that way 🤷🏻 I mean they have a chunk of lead and a 90° eye to help keep them from giving it a slurp 🤷🏻
Love the shirt. I recently went to a sweet bait shop and they were selling creek chubs so I bought some. When I opened my bucket and took one out there were suckers and the guy just calls them chubs. I wanted to be upset but who gets upset over having slurpable suckers in the tank?
If you ever in Kentucky let me know I take you to catch enough mud cats or bullheads or yellow bellies you fill your tank in 30 minutes or less. I keep them all year around.
So when looking for creek chubs, there shouldn't be any small bream in the water? I've tried going back to places I used to catch chubs and they are loaded with baby bream now. How deep a whole or creek, are you looking for? Also do you purge your bait after catching them, before you put them in your tank?
Simple!? When I was a teenager, my bait tank was a five gallon bucket that I put a piece of screen wire on top of...and I'd then put ice cubes on the screen wire to melt and drip down into the bucket...thus replenishing the fresh water. And I thought that was the height of ingenuity.
Valdosta GA got gut punched but we’re cool. Anyways man that D-28 sounds great with you. How do you feel about old guilds? Just picked up a 69 d-35. Best sounding anything I’ve ever heard
My favorite channel hands down. One of these days I’ll be able to take the time and get one if he guided trips with him. Wouldn’t even care if we got skunked.
I personally love chub fishing. I have caught "giant" clubs in the past that have little spiky horns on their head. Just wondering if u know what that is. I'm assuming it's a male chub, just wondering why they grow them
My 13 year old nephew has finally taking a shine to fishing. He absorbs everything you say and do. You must've been a hell of a teacher. Do you miss it? Great video and thanks as always for sharing brother!! 👍🏾👊🏾✊🏾🙂💯

"Doing the work" videos are awesome! Behind the scenes, maintenance and prep videos are crucial!
Yes sir, love creek walking and bait fishing. Awesome bait tank as well.
The simple joy of getting bait. It's something I always enjoy
I like to use a sliding bobber when I creek fish, makes my casting package small and can get closer to hanging trees and brush
Thats whats she said

Catching bait in creeks is almost my favorite part of fishing 🎣🎣🎣
Me and my granddaughter always watch Spencer one cool guy !!!
Thank you very much!
Really love the bait videos
I got a creek behind my house full of them and harvest baits regularly! Love me some sneebs!
Im in deep east texas, never heard of a bullhead. Im amazed at how you can go to those small creeks and catch big fish. Love watching those videos
I am too. I don’t think we have them down here, I’d never heard of them either.
My wife’s favorite part of catfishing is catching the bait. Great Video
Can’t wait to go fishing wit you Spence
Hell yeah man!
Just show him the $$ and your in. Nobody rides for free 😅
I catch more fish because of good teachers like you bud.
Of course I stay to the end!

I appreciate that man. How'd the fishing trip go the other day?
It was amazing, man, we caught a ton of wolf fish!

Great video ,thanks for the trip Spencer
Thanks for the interesting walk-through, Spencer.
The hunt for bait is awesome fun
Appreciate all the insight and tips for catfishing Spencer. Keep catching giants!!
You bet man. Hope you do too!
Great video them chubs are like candy for catfish can't wait to see you put them to work keep those lines tight my friend
here in IL you have to catch your bait from the same water you plan to use them in. No transporting. Puts a damper on live bait fishing for catfish.
Good Live Bait IS Key !!! Tight Lines Captain Spencer 🐟🐟🐟 Great Information !!! Thanks for the videos !!!👍
Awesome Spenc! Can wait to see them get used!
That was one of my favorites ! Really fun and relaxing and I learned alot! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Your bait shop creek looks like a great spot to hunt morels in the spring btw 👍 good luck 🍀

Now I gotta try chubs again. Never caught anything on em but do have a chub hole close to the house
Woods is cool , give him a treat ! He looks like an old timer
Great to see more bait videos!

I hope so. They definitely have a job ahead of them tomorrow.
I've got an engal bait cooler too. I have the 19qt and I recently got a cast net I've been learning how to use. Also found out that engal has a new rechargeable air pump.
That's the best way to catch the best bait man. Hope you find some dandies!
Perfect timing. Just about to head out to catch some bait myself.
Hope you get em man
Great video, has me thinking of my favorite chub hole back home and as far as no after ✔️ bs, yeah we grow em big in Illinois as well as Iowa 🎣💪
The gar and the turtles wreak havoc on creek chubs in the little river I fish. Very hard bait to beat tho.
Love the sneeb edition. Have a few chub spots in ohio that is full of "chubzillas" great clean crick area that have big flatties and chans. Anyhow great vid and be safe.
Love you videos so much Spencer❤️💙💙❤️
I can’t wait to see the video using them Chubbs
👍👍👍👍👍another great 🎣video with informative commentary
Hope you enjoyed it Roy!
Try catching some grass hoppers and using those for creek chub bait. No better bait for chubs.
That was fun. Thank you. Stay safe.
@@pabllam8017 thank you. You do the same.

Awesome video man 🎣🎣🎣🎣
Like the DIY advice. You’re a good fishing teacher. Just talk to everyone like they are middle schoolers. How was the charter season? Were you busy?
I probably talk like that because I have the mind of a middle schooler. Charter season went good. About as busy as I could handle. Alabama starts up the end of Oct.
@@RiverCertified are you still teaching or are you the Bill Dance of catfish now?
Love these videos!!!
Every ad that I skip watching your vids.......I thought that's how you named your dog😆
Hoping to see you use those Baits!!! Great Video Bud
I'm chomping at the bit to get them on the water!
👍😎✌

The master baiter
@@timwhiting6721 I hold that title proudly
We called them creek chubs in Wisconsin and would hammer pike with them
Do you like chubs over gizzard shad when fishing the Missouri River? Or should silver carp be the go to this time of year?
Great bait great video
I don't fish without polarized lenses. Grey lens 75%. Amber lens on a cloudy day was a mind blower.
You ain't kidding about the amber lenses.
In about 1958 , a creek chub was the first fish I ever caught.
I find it very enjoyable catching my own bait brother
That definitely makes two of us. I feel like it's the best bait too.
All we have here in Myrtle Beach is green sunfish and if ur lucky enough some bulkheads 😂❤
Dude you wore the schneebs out. I won't be fishing for a good while here in Erwin Tennessee as 100,000 cfs blowed up river destroyed all my fishing holes. I've been watching on the news. Hope you're doing okay. I'm definitely gonna put the sneebs to work.
I live right next to a creek. Like a 2 minute walk. Gotta start going there for baits. The prepackaged shad are draining my wallet haha.
Spencer great video and go Hawkeyes! A fellow Iowan here from NE Iowa. What the heck is a Sneab? Creek chub?
What’s your opinion on stink bait? Do you think it’s good?
I raised in the aquarium 3 bluequills and a bullhead i caught for bait like 5 years ago no bigger than the head of my thumb and i let them go back today. Kinda bummed fr I loved willy, billy, silly and Charley. It was time. 😂
You're a better man than me. Everytime I've tried to keep panfish as pets they end up on a hook😆
@@RiverCertified 😂 😂
Do you keep your bait long enough that you have feed them? If so what do you feed them?
Bait time 😀
It's ofishal, you're fintastic! But your pun was perfect for the video. ❤
Thanks 😆
I catch them behind my house on crappie nibbles!
Creek chubs, oh yeah. I’ll take the head. Good luck, take care
Would love to fish but we’re struggling down here in nc, 8 ounce weights won’t even help with this flood going on
How do you hook the creek chub to use them live? Same as bullheads and sunfish?
Do the green sunfish ever kill the chubs being in there together?
I prefer using jig heads as opposed to hooks when bait fishing... They almost never swallow the hook that way 🤷🏻 I mean they have a chunk of lead and a 90° eye to help keep them from giving it a slurp 🤷🏻
Love the shirt. I recently went to a sweet bait shop and they were selling creek chubs so I bought some. When I opened my bucket and took one out there were suckers and the guy just calls them chubs. I wanted to be upset but who gets upset over having slurpable suckers in the tank?
"They'll sense your snobbishness" then you pull out a old pole. Now I know why I caught so many of the little bastard bait stealers this summer.
If you ever in Kentucky let me know I take you to catch enough mud cats or bullheads or yellow bellies you fill your tank in 30 minutes or less. I keep them all year around.
Spencer, do you have fallfish out there in the midwest?
what type of cats are you targeting with the creek chubs?
So when looking for creek chubs, there shouldn't be any small bream in the water? I've tried going back to places I used to catch chubs and they are loaded with baby bream now. How deep a whole or creek, are you looking for? Also do you purge your bait after catching them, before you put them in your tank?
They will mix it with the sunfish, especially in the fall. In the spring and summer they don't seem to hang out in the same places as much.
@@RiverCertified gotcha, i appreciate that. Do you purge your baot after catching them and before putting them in your bait tank at the home?
And you name woody because you keep getting hung up in trees lol
😂😂😂
Cast net. Free bait. I got 11 good small fish in one cast and Im still learning it.
Just don't get too attached to your castnet haha
I wonder if it would just get tangled up in some situations?
What is the cooler you use for your bait
Schnebes ❓
WITAF
that there’s a crick trout
I never heard of them
That'd be fun with a 9' fly rod.
Nice simple little setup. How often do you have to clean your filter bucket?
Only once unless I have a big die off, which usually only happens when I put suckers in it in the middle of the summer.
Simple!?
When I was a teenager, my bait tank was a five gallon bucket that I put a piece of screen wire on top of...and I'd then put ice cubes on the screen wire to melt and drip down into the bucket...thus replenishing the fresh water.

Yo Spence, what do you feed the clubs while they wait to be used?
Usually bait will purge when in captivity... But will eat worms after acclimated

Spencer, what's the history behind the name of 'Sneeb?' Thank you for the entertainment!
The lore is derived from the legendary Ross Brown. He disappears anytime a camera comes around.
@@RiverCertified Love it. Thank you as always!

You nailed it. In the spring the males get the horns on their head. I guess the lady creek chubs like it.
Most places in the south they are called Hornyheads.
Missouri we call them "horny chubs" . I just learned in Europe Chubs get to be 5 lb.
Was 'woody' short for? Driftwood??
No, but I like that alot haha
I have a hard time telling my wife I'm not fishing I'm getting bait. And every time I deal with running water I have to pee 😅
