This dude could squeeze every bit of grip and power out of a CR125 in 1995. It was a pleasure to witness. Grant is good host. This young host has no idea that Steve would smoke him on any bike they ever ride. Lamson125
finished watching the rest of this today. AMAZING INTERVIEW. steve should be PROUD of what he has accomplished. 2 titles and a bunch of national wins and was one of the best in the world. 4 amazing kids and is a legend. hearing about his dad was heartbreaking because I lost my dad to suicide as well. I was getting pissed listening to how he lost all of his hard earned money through un unfair divorce....but like ping said, makes you stronger.
Man I know Im late to the gate here but I just wanted to say to Steve, Im so sorry for your loss - truly. Believe me, you are stronger than you think for being able to field those questions and talk openly about it on the show having seen/felt what you have. Much respect to you, I hope to get there myself someday as well. Props to you two as well for being absolutely gracious hosts navigating this topic with him while still allowing him space on it, knocked it out the park boys.
Watching these guys blitz past at mach speed they seem larger than life but listening to this man pour his heart out about his dad proves we're all the same. Makes me glad i had the pleasure of watching him ride, especially on the CR125 in 2000.
Awesome dude. Ill never forget being a little kid at glen helen on a Thursday. Steve was there parked up by the pee wee track. As he was loading up he tossed a bunch of gear and stuff to the kids. Still have his number 1 Jersey up on the wall from that day. Thanks a lot dude!
I remember being at silver state raceway in Carson city NV racing 60s and 80s and Lamson lined up coming back from that femur, let the whole 250A class take off and he just sat on the line, waited for the leader to be in the last turn before the finish, then he took off out of the gate and ended up running them all down and won the race by almost half a lap! He smoked everyone, all the guys that were working on going pro, had plenty of sponsorships from our local dealers like big valley Honda, he made them look like they were 125C class. Such a rad sight to see and he was my favorite rider back in the day.
Grant Langston is correct. It was for Albee, but the deal didn't come together. Also David Pingree it wasn't 1989 when Damon Bradshaw rode the 500 Nationals. It was 1991 on the WR500 . There were 3 Head Honchos at DGY (Downers Grove Yamaha), they were Jim Sawnn (Owner), Jim Canner and Rusty Ott. Also guys who raced with Steve Lamson locally here in Nor-Cal who did decent on the National Circuit are Jeff Pastana, Rusty Holland, Spud Walters, Dustin Nelson, Chris Wheeler, Corey Keeney and Dustin Bloomfield, although yes the Vohland brothers made a larger impact then those others listed.
Emig did not get second in the 125A mod. In 1989! I got second in 89 behind Steve. I got first in that class in 87,88. At Loretta lynns. Jeff Emig got 9th in 125 mod. Class.
I used to be Mx mad during the 1990 and remember Lammy just suddenly appeared onto the pro scene out of nowhere it seemed and just stormed the 125 class, looked so cool 😎
Love the talk of Fast By Ferracci. I have one of Steves old bikes from the 2002 MX season. Anything but slow. Does anyone have RacerX's email? Maybe I can send them my Ferracci husky and they can do a segment on it.Lol
Nothing against some of these other guys like Steve and Trey.....but isnt it time to get a couple more legends on the show??? De Coster, Johnson, Bailey and ????
So we should get all the biggest stars on one after another and then just close up shop after a year because there’s nobody else to look forward to? Awesome plan. There are plenty of people with amazing stories in this sport for a true fan.
@@davidpingree9254 i am a true fan. I just feel like the early 80's were the golden era of motocross. Each factory team was sponsoring no less than 5 or 6 riders and the starting line for a supercross was a stacked field of at least 10 - 15 stars who could pull off a win on any given night.. There's more than enough riders from that era to keep your show going for quite a while. I still want to see shows with riders from today and other era's but when i see 2 or 3 shows with riders from similar era's i get a little anxious to see some of the 80's guys. Just my two cents....
steve lamson was good but what about doug henry a 2 time 125 motocross champion and 2 time 125 supercross champion, johnny omara won the overall in the 125 class and beat the 500's in the MXDN long before steve lamson
QUESTION #1 - Before winning a couple of Motocross World titles, this rider managed to beat the top AMA riders (including Jeremy McGrath) in Europe - Can you tell me the name and the event? QUESTION #2 - Jeremy McGrath and Stefan Everts very rarely raced against each other. In the late 90s, some Euro supercross event managed to make them go head-to-head - Can you tell me the event and what happened on the main event?
@@chrisgleis2821 - Nope, answer to #1 is Frederick Bolley at the 1995 Barcelona Supercross. With many AMA Supercross riders behind the gate, the future World and Champion beat them all in Spain. Answer to #2 is the Madrid Supercross. In the main event, both McGrath and Everts fell on turn 1. Stefan needed more time to get up and they never found each other on track. Some AMA Supercross rider won it all.

Thanks for Steve Lamson coming on the show. You guys did a great job again. 6 fan.
Awesome show. Got his autograph at millville 1991. First year for the peak team.
Windham won the Charlotte 250cc main in '97. He was still riding in the 125cc west coast at the time.
Lamy..Great career..and Down to earth guy... Great to hear his story..and I wanna Wish him well..

Great show. Steve thank you for sharing your life with all of us. Some of that was tough to listen to. We all have a story of some kind.
❤️
Love the format of the shows, its like setting in on a BS session in a pro's garage.
These interviews are great it’s like a sneak peak behind the scenes. Keep up the good work!!!

Great Show, Lamy always a gentleman and a class act. Thank you Ping n Grant..
Whiskey throttle drinking game- take a shot any time someone mentions ‘mitch’
Better get on the liver transplant list now
Love the Show , I lived in Orange vale at one time too. And loved watching Lammy Rip 125's
This needs more views... Thanks Steve, forever a fan!
Another awesome show.Thks.
Such a solid guy. Just listened to this round and Lammy was always top shelf.

one of the nicest people you will ever meet

FUN FACT - Jeff's surname should've been "Pestaña" but Americans don't know about the Ñ letter, his surname means "eyelash" in Spanish.

Awesome episode, with Lamy!...😎👍
Amazing the history Honda has for trying to screw riders out of contracts, money and re-signs! Great show - always been a huge fan of Steve.
This should be video of Lamson slaying tracks on a 125 and him describing it. Looking at these 3 talk should be replaced with scrubs
I used to be Mx mad during the 1990 and remember Lammy just suddenly appeared onto the pro scene out of nowhere it seemed and just stormed the 125 class, looked so cool 😎
Lamy, sorry missed the show but stand corrected, the chain came from me.
His Goon riding was hysterical.
Awesome Show 👍
Lammy!! Hey it’s Jeremiah from woodland! Hope all is well it’s been a long time!
Ping needs to show clips about the racing incident they are talking about. add some videos to the content.
3 deaths at San Diego Supercross ? I remember the one in I think 04', but when else did it happen ? About the 3:28ish mark.
Lammy's 2000 cr was probably wanna my favorite looking bikes!!!
Eff yea!!! Man you guys are the panicle of pod casts... they can’t get any better, then next one comes out...
remember js7 talking about this dude
I always Remember him Getting holeshots too especially on big bikes
When we gonna get the pingree episode
Agreed -- let's hear the PING story in detail please.
I think in '93 they picked up Chicken Matasvich (sp?) for Factory Suzuki. Albee came over in '95 when DeCoster took over the US Suzuki program.
Eric Kehoe should be a consideration?
Love the show but Ping's mouth smacking noises killed it for me. Maybe move his mic further away from his mouth next time.
Love the talk of Fast By Ferracci. I have one of Steves old bikes from the 2002 MX season. Anything but slow. Does anyone have RacerX's email? Maybe I can send them my Ferracci husky and they can do a segment on it.Lol
Them Italian Husky's RIPPED.
Didn't Lamson pass Fro on that Quad ??
I remember that Elsinore Grand Prix,
In 96 mxdn was Husqy broke.
92 was emig and larroco not cooper....lets sharpen up on moto history...
Didn't chiodi win on a 125
On Ferracci Huskys? Not in the US I believe. He did a couple supercrosses in 1999 I think.
4th in San Diego, was leading at some point IIRC. Preston won a Husqvarna CR125 in Houston 2001.

speak for yourself ..lammy was awesome.
they have been on the show.

Its all about the equipment you are running same thing Vohland said.
Need to get Vohland on! Great job guys!
@@EarthSurferUSA At the top level of any racing the equipment that you get is very very important. Not talking about racing at the local level.

It's Lammy, there's no BS!
