@Anzu Wyliei Because the Kinkou, or rather Shen specifically and the shadow order need to fight for the sake of balance. And if Shen knew that Zed never killed his father, Shen wouldn't have a reason to fight Zed anymore, which would disrupt the balance of good vs evil.

MajinVenix why is it that when I play Jhin I have always sometimes intentionally missed shots just for fun. Didn’t know it was a thing Jhin ACTUALLY does lorewise. XD
This gives light to the character of Zed, Kay and Shen as well as Akali. • Zed wasn't really evil, but he studied Shadow Magic in order to protect Ionia. • Kayn's Loyalty to Zed, shows that Zed is an Amazing Master • Shen is too dense and naive to pick up clues that could've helped him discover the truth • Akali and Zed have similar principles when it comes to protecting Ionia.
Shen actually ain't dense or naive tf. But yeah this comic really wrote him off as one. When you look at the "Tales of Runeterra: Ionia" animation it really feels like an another character from comics interpretation.

The twist is awesome and only adds to the lore and Zed's character. What truly happened to their master was always hinted to be very mysterious and it always struck me as odd from my very first time reading Zed's lore. This comic has done an awesome job of fleshing out Zed, he was great before but a bit of a one note edgy assassin- Now he feels like a real human being with regrets and mistakes, but also his own man with honor and ideals.
I mean, Shen was too royal to his father to the point he become so dense and naive, if he find out the truth it would break his mental. Zed understanding this more than anyone else so he decided to let him find the answer himself rather than tell him the truth.
Man I've been watching your videos for a few weeks and I literally am in love with leagues lore. They need to make a animated series or something because their stories are amazing
Amazing story, nice to see my favorite character get awesome comics to tell his story. Also nice to see my favorite RUclipsr to make a video explaining and review the comic
I also really liked the twist! Everything Zed did made more sense b/c of it. Instead of straight up killing his master offscreen, he tried to find another alternative. He's a good man who's willing to do the minimal of bad for the greater good / maintaining the balance. ^_^ Side note, love the master and teacher relationship between Zed and Kayn and how loyal Kayn is.
Easy way to revive Kusho, reowrok Nocturne into the soul of Kusho. After dying his mind and souls got anchored to the shadow realm and coalessed into the demon Nocturne.
Imagine if Zed was loseing the fight and suddenly Shen comes. They don't kill Kusho becouse he escapes and this way they can make him a real chempion. Also the interactions between them would be great. Shen and Zed will finally be friends which i would love. Also give Shen some love
I bet that when they rework Nocturne, they'll do what they did with Pantheon and just push Kusho to be part of Nocturne in some sense (at least to the level that he will speak in his voice lines or something), because having that kind of interaction would be so worth it.. as long as they don't mess up the demon theory crafting by making Kusho full on replace Nocturne like Atreus took over Pantheon...
I like how Zed has been given the Itachi treatment in a way. Forced to disgrace himself in order to protect the very group that once embraced and now hunts him. I hope that one day Shen comes to realise the truth but for now this really changes the way I perceive Zed
I still don't know how the fight between camille and jhin ended. Of course jhin survived, but seeing the awaken video makes me think only one wouldve survived. So I need to know what happened to Camille!
After this comic, i think in awaken series it was just a Jhin's mechanized puppet (or how did it Necrit called?), and Camille took it out. Because i dont think there is a solid reason how they both survived.
@@picapes The Jhin on stage was shooting and bowing down to Camille, too real to be a puppet. What happened is, the 4th shot Jhin was hiding on his back while bowing down blow off the leg that camille was going to slash jhin with. Camile lost a scissor leg but somehow forced jhin to retreat or more soldiers flooded the room which caused him to escape before he could finish Camille.
Thanks for making these videos. It inspired me to finally read the comics. I was wondering if you would bring it up, but there were a few things that seemed off to me when Kusho was talking to Zed. I think not all of what master Kusho was talking to Zed was truly Kusho himself speaking, but rather the Shadow Entity(?) controlling him. There were a lot of lines that really contradicted with the type of character we had learned Kusho to be like from the flashbacks in the previous issues, which made me think that maybe there weren't much of the original Kusho left at all. Sure, he was most likely corrupted by the shadow magic, but the way he had completely sacrificed his own ideals, neglecting even his own Teaching of the Scales, made me think that this was no longer Kusho himself, but rather the Shadow Entity using Kusho as a vessel. Also the insults that Kusho told to Zed during the fight seemed little too cruel for the Kusho we knew. Kusho respected Zed and truly tought he was the better student, granting him the meddalion in the first issue. But there was doubt in Zed's mind, and the Shadow Entity was using that doubt, and the benefit of Zed thinking the words would be Kusho's, to taunt him and make him afraid and weak. I think the dark speech bubbles were also representing that it was the Shadow Entity speaking rather than Kusho. I just wanted to point this out since the way you presented Kusho's insults to Zed (Kusho seeing Zed only as a tool, punching bag for Shen, weakling peasant, etc.) made them seem like you considered them to be how Kusho, even before his corruption, saw Zed. But I wanted to bring this alternative angle that maybe it wasn't Kusho himself, but the Shadow Entity using Kusho to prey on Zed's doubts and fears, telling him lies he was willing to believe. Finally wanted to add for future lore endeavours, that figuring out what the Shadow Entity was was left a bit of a mystery. From what we were shown, it seemed like the Shadow Entity had some level of a mind of its own seemingly having taken over master Kusho and Shen pointing out to Zed that the shadows control him rather than he them. Could the Shadow Entity be a demon? What is the Shadow Realm really? Could the entity be tied to Fiddlesticks? The chase for lore is endless. Again, thanks for your awesome Lore coverage. Keep up the good work!
I think soon enough we’re going to get some more lore on Jhin revealing his backstory and his obsession with the number 4. Like, we’ll find out that Jhin was actually Zeds older brother. For 4 years Jhin lived happily with his family as an only child but the year that Zed was born the family was met with misfortune. Thus Jhin despised Zed and saw him as a curse. So since Zed ruined jhins life at 4 years of age, Jhin wanted to ruin Zeds life at 4 as well. So Jhin pulled the strings behind Zeds abandonment. But when Jhin saw that fortune again found Zed through Kusho and Shen, he became obsessed with studying his brothers life to find ways to ruin it. If something like this were to be revealed, it’d have to be revealed through them removing Jhins mask, uncovering a face that is strikingly similar to Zeds with white hair, leading into Zed suddenly remembering everything. That’d be wild.
My man Zed has this rich and compelling lore along with his loyal bro Kayn in the comics while Shen is just... *hippity hoppity, your life is a misery*
15:53 You missed the doll of Kusho that Jhin left in the bottom right corner of the screen. It was confirmed on twitter that Jhin was plotting out everything perfectly including Kushos death
One thing that one one seems to point out is that Zed's shadows are now a picture of himself. Before they were shown as people from his past hunting his mind. But now he has mastered the shadows and has the control over THEM, not the other way around.
Start of the first comic: "Though your mother gave you life, it is your Master who bid you to stand for a purpose. For this, you owe fealty." End of the finale: Kayn being a true bro

This comic has done an awesome job of fleshing out Zed, he was great before but a bit of a one note edgy assassin- Now he feels like a real human being with regrets and mistakes, but also his own man with honor and ideals.
Necrit: Too much content to produce
WhoWouldWin ep.7 after the promised 9mnths: Forgettin' something bruh?
Dude do you know what necrit forgot

Kinda disappointed that shen didn't found that out about his dad
i think it's for the best.
That'd basically kill the entire rivalry/enemies but also friends dynamic, I guess. But will probably know about it some time.
I mean, Shen was too royal to his father to the point he become so dense and naive, if he find out the truth it would break his mental. Zed understanding this more than anyone else so he decided to let him find the answer himself rather than tell him the truth.
Kusho mentioned that he used ZED as SHEN's punching bag instead of the other way around. Kayn called KUSHO a jerk, not ZED.
I really wonder how does Kennen tie into all this, if he's even a part of the Kinkou clan anymore.
he is read or listen the new akali story to find out more he is in the top 3 of the kinkou
He is still a part of the kinkou, but basically no body plays this champ so not even story writers seem to care about him
I love the artwork in this comic
Looking badass as ever Kayn, he knows true Honor.
Man I've been watching your videos for a few weeks and I literally am in love with leagues lore. They need to make a animated series or something because their stories are amazing
Kayn and Zed bromance is everything I need!
Careful, tumbler could hear you
they are true friendship
Rhaast: arn't i enough?
@@TheEel228 2 bros better then one

my thoughts on Kayn before and after this comic
Before: Bloodthirsty demon possessed psychopath
After: Edgy fun loving meme teenager
Amazing story, nice to see my favorite character get awesome comics to tell his story. Also nice to see my favorite RUclipsr to make a video explaining and review the comic
as a kayn main myself (who also plays zed a lot) i freakin love this comic and the fact that kayn and zed are bros :D
I also really liked the twist! Everything Zed did made more sense b/c of it. Instead of straight up killing his master offscreen, he tried to find another alternative. He's a good man who's willing to do the minimal of bad for the greater good / maintaining the balance. ^_^
Side note, love the master and teacher relationship between Zed and Kayn and how loyal Kayn is.
Easy way to revive Kusho, reowrok Nocturne into the soul of Kusho. After dying his mind and souls got anchored to the shadow realm and coalessed into the demon Nocturne.
@Glodius and he's in Demacia
I don't know how i'd feel about that, i like Nocturne being his own thing more
Skyen - Zed comic bad
Necrit - Zed comic good
Is Riot hinting new VS event?!?
I honestly don't understand why it is bad

Kayn called Master Kusho a jerk. "That jerk really thought I would betray you"
Imagine if Zed was loseing the fight and suddenly Shen comes. They don't kill Kusho becouse he escapes and this way they can make him a real chempion. Also the interactions between them would be great. Shen and Zed will finally be friends which i would love. Also give Shen some love
That will destroy the rivalry of Zed and Shen for years it is enough to know that Zed didn't actually kill shen's father he's only lying to Shen
13:46
Kusho: ohoho you have activated my trap card!
Zed: I have no choice but to use this uno reverse card
Jhin is like Loki
*A villain everyone loves*
I bet that when they rework Nocturne, they'll do what they did with Pantheon and just push Kusho to be part of Nocturne in some sense (at least to the level that he will speak in his voice lines or something), because having that kind of interaction would be so worth it.. as long as they don't mess up the demon theory crafting by making Kusho full on replace Nocturne like Atreus took over Pantheon...
Ok, we already had a featured Varus comic, Kayn and Red Kayn as side characters, and now we need a comic about Aatrix
Shen: We cant just murder Jhinn
Also Shen When he sees Jhinn: 1:34 REEEEEEEEE
I like how Zed has been given the Itachi treatment in a way. Forced to disgrace himself in order to protect the very group that once embraced and now hunts him. I hope that one day Shen comes to realise the truth but for now this really changes the way I perceive Zed
I still don't know how the fight between camille and jhin ended. Of course jhin survived, but seeing the awaken video makes me think only one wouldve survived. So I need to know what happened to Camille!
Younes El Ghazi i hope we get a piltover zaun comic so we can find out what happened to camille
jhin probably just escaped i dont think camille would die or get hurt badly. He probably just ran away
@@sopmodii1505 oh thank u for explaining
I really want you to cover the new story first, but the cinematics are also pretty damn good
"As he ripped off his clothes-"
Say what now? I was eating ramen.
what.
Reading the issues and watching your analysis Videos about it was so interesting and cool. I am happy how the story turned out.
15:51 anyone else see the little puppet thingy in the bottom right?
Yeah lol the hell is that
like one of jhin puppets
Jhin faked His capture and left it on purpose.
Me: Shen father is alive o.O
Rito: well yeah but actually no
I think soon enough we’re going to get some more lore on Jhin revealing his backstory and his obsession with the number 4.
That’d be wild.
finally i read the whole thing but was waiting for your vid for more explanation
zed was adopted when he was FOUR years old. ouh jhin...
My man Zed has this rich and compelling lore along with his loyal bro Kayn in the comics while Shen is just...
*hippity hoppity, your life is a misery*
I just imagine jhin talking when I read his dialogue, HE'S THAT GOOD.
I AM SO MINDBLOWN. THAT WAS SUCH A TWIST
Itachi : **pat on zed’s shoulder** I know how u feel bro.
My perspective about Zed has changed dramatically. I love this story.
10:30 ngl Kusho looks like vampire lord form from Skyrim's Dawnguard
Or maybe I just see Molag Bal in his shape
15:53 You missed the doll of Kusho that Jhin left in the bottom right corner of the screen. It was confirmed on twitter that Jhin was plotting out everything perfectly including Kushos death
I can't stop imagining Kusho with Sidious's voice. It's basically him.
did you ever hear the tragedy of Master Kusho the Wise?
@@atocanboi409 I just re-read the whole chapter with anakin's dark deeds soundtrack. Fits perfect.
I just want a Yorick comic because he's actually a cool character and I'd like to know more about his quest to stop the mist
11:40 No, he says "You (as there was no one else besides Zed, it must be Zed) were just a punching bag to train my son with." It´s the opposite.
For this, you owe fealty."
End of the finale: Kayn being a true bro
legends of runeterra is like no rest for you necrit
I was shocked when i saw the issue
Ok, holy shit, I've been following the story of zed even before the lore changes, and it's so fucking satisfying to actually know what happened.
Aw, this makes shen look like an idiot XD
Ein ManU sometimes ignorance is a bliss! Zed sacrificed his honor in order to protect kusho’s. In the end all was in vain
I fully agree with u @Necrit. They killed Shen's father waayy to early and It had so much potential for further storytelling!
Nononono, zed was the 'punching bag' for Shen according to what is written
That doll by zed and kusho side when kusho dying in zed's is the most evil thing ever done by jhin
What will you laugh at, when they finally rework Gragas? :P
Zed is such a tragic character now.
Wait, I already watched this?
"with that zed"
