I always felt strongly that the Dead were the most accomplished live band i'd ever seen, and I saw them twice in the UK in the early seventies. It turns out, decades later, that I was right - they were phenomenal live. Great musicians showing off is a sight to behold and to savour. .
This was so cool to see, thanks for posting it! What a great time to be alive to see all these bands whenever you want live on you tube! Appreciate your all sharing, again.
some days I'm just amazed again that those familiar and wonderful tunes all came from Jerry's hands... ...and Lolo once again grateful that when I went looking for a song there was a video from you (always a bonus when it's Hampton also, which gives me better odds of yours of course!) Gratitude!
Was it just me or did keyboard sound weird when Brent was riffing on the Hammond organ on big river But it didn't seem to have that ballsy crunchy overdrive and the Leslie didn't sound like it was spinning right or something Normally his organ playing is overdriven and amphitheater filling fulsome sounds
To be honest....this is a jumbled me and my uncle.....they are actually all over the place. It's not tight. Bob is real into the lyrics however which may have thrown everything off.
Peter Sansone wow that’s what you got out of that. Well pick it apart like a vulture I saw an amazing band and an amazing songwriter create a miracle Peter. If you met Marylyn Monroe looking like a million dollars. You would probably comment. “She mumbles her toe nail was dirty Good luck with that So glad you made it I was there up front whole tour I was grateful “You know better but I know him “
@@biffjohnson7891 Marilyn wouldn't have a 'dirty toe nail'! Ever! Lol. But, I digress...I get and agree with the gist of your comment. I guess, he was being as honest, as a 'Denver man' can be.

"Well, my uncle he taught me all I know. He taught me so well, I grabbed that gold - and I left his dead ass there by the side of the road."
So pragmatic.
Stephen Fitzpatrick practical af
I'd like to think that I'd fair better, with my nephews. Lol. Great tune, well done.
dunno if anyone gives a shit but in less than 15 minutes I hacked my girl friends Instagram password using Instaplekt. Just google for it :)
Love watching Jerry play off of Brent vice/versa. Thanks for posting
If I could leave 10 thumbs up, I most certainly would.
Jerry was a master of the pentatonic scale. He puts on a clinic in this song.
He’s off so much In The early part of me and my uncle
🧡the Brent beaming out and Jerry of course
I'd say they were spot on that night. Nice!
Never saw, heard ,Brent .,Insane. Just wow...
@@tinawestphal2050 Brent fans are people too!! 😂
💈 - This Song and Sugar Magnolia are the two finest songs ever made by The Greatful Dead-
Not even close.
Also they were not dead songs
Sugar mag was but not big river
This is a john phillips song.
Man the music never stops!⚡️ And by the way there is no favorite or (best) Grateful dead song my friend.. Every song ever played was Good!!⚡️🫧

I was amazed to hear Brett, thought he was dead by this time but quickly recognized that playing.
Brent died in 91
90
I'm as honest as a Denver man can be
newb question - did jerry play wolf a lot in late 80s / 90s? for some reason i thought he ripped it more in late 70s
Bobby's got that FF hair goin on here, lucky her!

As someone who was born well after I could see them live, I’ll take what I can get:) stay grateful
His singing is erratic, never seemed to improve or learn how to breathe correctly. I'll take the Skull and Roses version.
one of the beatity of being a rock star is you get a lot of girl fancying you hum just look
Brent is playing well but these tunes really need subtle piano
my mistake.
....I swear I'm not crazy
The opening sounds like Sparkle by Phish xD
watch?v=W-dzJx3NGm0
when their good, their like nothing else, and when they suck... they totally suck!
I was never a fan of Brent but his solo on Big River is good.
They were not quite on this night. Yikes
Time for a head check.
