e1x and its phenomenal and I have owned an embarrassing amount of equip over the last 3 decades. It is fantastic in all that it offers. No cut corners or afterthoughts in the design whatsoever
Norway is an audio engineering powerhouse. Hegel, Electrocompaniet, Seas... Really great stuff (with Electrocompaniet being one of my all time favorites.) My issue with Hegel is their amps typically have very high damping factors, and (while I know I'm generalizing) many amps that have damping in the 4000, 5000+ range sound constrained in the midband to my ear. Of course, that high damping factor means Hegel amps will sound great with a wide variety of speakers and have excellent bass control, but personally I prefer a bit more "snap" in the midrange. I've never heard their phono stage. Cheers!!
Thanks my friend and sorry I cant text or phone long distance as all I have is a cell costs too much hence sending you a whatsapp request.Dude nothing to worry about there accept my invitation and talk for free
Hey Shrink! Good to see another of your videos! Why did you decide to get rid of the Orchard Audio? I had a Hegel integrated. Everything was good, overall I thought it was really 'nice' sound, but didn't give me an emotional response.
Not because it wasnt good. The whole second system gone I always know simple is best and why have a second if the first is simply better in every way.Yes no emotional response it goes out the door.I one feels that its best just to keep rather than risk starting all over again that vicious cycle
Maybe you could do an episode on how to enjoy your music again and stop listening so analytically. I once knew a Doctor Lipshitz, and he said he got into it too deep and he was having the darndest time trying to enjoy his music again; and like all doctors, he had access to any medication on the panet. I got into a debate with one of those "measurements is everything guys". I told him maybe he could teach us all how to listen like robots.
What happened with Dr. Lipshitz is he took took a two year sabbatical from listening to his stereo. He strategically employed all kinds of diversions; like he took up stamp collecting, he tried courting nurses, he took up something called pickleball, and he gradually built a 140 pound ball made of aluminum foil. He had to build another garage for his car He took his wife who was on the heavy side, on an African Safari. She was shot by a hunter by accident. At first they thought he might have done it, but someone came forward and admitted that it was all an accident, and they mistook her for a young animal, and swore that they were not IVORY Hunters.
When his wife recovered, they decided to part ways just in case, and she stayed in Africa. She moved to a different area in Africa, where they didn't have such a bad problem with bushmen and cannibals. Isn't there a rock group called Fine Young Cannibals? She got a job in a gold mine. She secretly told him her weight flab was a distinct advantage in her gold mine job. Not wouldn't divulge what she meant. He told me he visited her once, and she is now somehow richer than him; A Doctor. There is a big high end audio community in South Africa. If you ask travellers who've travelled the whole world, "what is the most beautiful place you've ever been to?" You'd be surprised how many of them say "Africa"
Do you still have orchard audio dac? I sure learned alot about myself when i was in hospital. Im not as shy as I used to be. Talking lots and listening more to people.😊
Ya that’s a fair assessment “safe” My bel canto is digital and sounds nothing like the hegel. The Canto is much more real with resolution and insight into the music that the hegel could not reach. But again the bel canto is more money and refinement is easy to discern and hey its class d but a very high level
Had a Hegel H190. Now have an Atoll SDA-300. Fits my needs more. I see Hegel is releasing the H400 soon. Enjoy your HiFi journey. And your thoughts even when we differ. Take care.
Hello Audio Scribe,
Exact which Bel Canto Integrated do you own? Sounds right up my alley..

Less is more 👍👍👍 Such an important reminder. It’s a constant battle to ward off the upgrade demons.

Hey shink it's pete bro been awhile
Hey Pete!
From what I hear Hegel is very neutral. Some say they sound safe. Good or bad depending on your system.
They're designed to sound like digital
